Impressed with JumpCloud’s platform and features

  • July 27, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
JumpCloud has made managing our user directory easy and seamless across platforms. It has also allowed us to centrally manage our workstations to ensure all have an identical setup.
What do you dislike about the product?
Having used Microsoft AD for years, I found JumpCloud didn't have exact parity of features and capabilities, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. It was fairly easy to get used to managing things via JumpCloud though, and I was able to achieve everything I needed to do,, without having to manage extra hardware.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Off-premise management, easy directory setup and maintenance, easy SSO setup for various applications and services, and great integration with GSuite.

Great service with excellent documentation and free trial

  • July 26, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It was very easy to set up Jumpcloud to set up Radius support -- something that's often time-consuming even if you maintain your own directory services. The fact that I was able to get Radius support working quickly was quite impressive.
What do you dislike about the product?
The documentation gets things backwards in a few places (e.g. confusing Radius client with Radius server).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My customer needed to support an application that required Radius authentication. For various reasons, we couldn't use their existing directory services, so we added the accounts and were up and running on the same day. Another vendor was pitching a $2000/year Radius service, Jumpcloud was much cheaper!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just do it. The free trial makes it no-risk and JumpCloud is easy to set up, so it won't cost much time.

JumpCloud - as an end user

  • July 20, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, very nice UI, i like how the UI looks and is easy to use; they are open for suggestions and new ideas. They have a very friendly interface. I can changes my password easily and so does the MFA section is easily edited.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it feels too simplified; something is missing, yet I cannot point my finger at it. I used to work with Okta, and it was friendlier. I could add links as I wish into the application, and save me some bookmarks as well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It solves the need of logging into many systems at the same time; it saves me time and energy, and even some anger :).
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Very simple UI, easy to use, easy to change password and MFA factors, for an end user (less support is needed from the IT)

Easy user and device admin!

What do you like best about the product?
Their UI makes it easy to manage devices and users, and they're constantly adding new features. I'm able to setup new users and apply common policies across the organization quickly. Jumpcloud has all the basic features you'd want like password enforcment, drive encryption, and user suspention. Also, their support, even at the basic level, is outstanding! It gives me a lot of confidence in using them going forward as our company grows.
What do you dislike about the product?
I suppose a feature I'd like is to see how all your policies potentially interact. Also would be nice to have an example of best practices for setting up users and devices. I also had some issues with setting up new users that had existing accounts on their devices, it would have been nice to have a clearer more detaild explination of the account takeover process and to have some examples shown in a timeline fashion.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For the size of businesses I'm working for, it doesn't make much sense to set up a full MS AD. JumpCloud fits the bill by allowing you to manage user security and devices in a highly scalable way. It really gives these small businesses an easy way to impliment security and user managment in much the same ways as larger ones.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would say that if you need user and device management for a small business that has the potential to grow to a medium-sized business, then this is for you. Having the first ten users always be free is an excellent way for you to start using it to see if it fits the bill for what you need.

Great platform with potential

  • July 14, 2021

What do you like best about the product?
RADIUS as a Service which we use with Meraki is great.
As well as LDAP as a Service which we use with Synology NAS. The Multi Tenant Portal is great as well for MSP's.
What do you dislike about the product?
User lifecycle management is not great or sometimes missing. Which means you often still need to delete users in the linked services. Also the fact that you still pay for suspended users is not great, Okta does that better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A very flexible identity management system, so we only have to manage user identity in a single place. All the systems are cloud based, which means we do not have to manage and secure on prem servers.

What do you like best about the product?
Integrates with our tools and allows us to enforce security requirements with little extra setup.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would love to be able to automate the enforcement of SSH key rotation after a set period.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
ssh key management in AWS EC2 instances and MDM for apple and windows laptops

Great New IAM Platform with a Great Team

  • July 13, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
-My number one like with JumpCloud is their product support team. Our feedback with them has resulted in direct product and feature releases.
-Product Support with JumpCloud has been solid with excellent response times and times to resolution as well.
-New SCIM custom connector is very cool!
What do you dislike about the product?
-Lack of mainstream SSO support. There is a large number of applications that do not have Native SSO support with JumpCloud, but this is likely due to JumpCloud being relatively new.
-We have run into quite a few issues with canned SSO connectors with JumpCloud where they are not updated or missing documentation.
-No Native ADP integration
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
-Domainless IAM
-Remote PowerShell / Bash Scripting
-Directory Insights is very useful for tracking down user actions and issues in out environment
-RADIUS SD-WAN Authentication makes VPN Access to Corp-net very easy and tied to IAM Account

What do you like best about the product?
It's in the cloud, and we don't need to worry about the power outage; we don't need to worry about the server crash, and it's support lots of API.
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost, when we have more users, the cost would be more.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cental online active directory.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Cental online active directory which has everything you need and it has lots of API.

Very well made IdP that listens to customers

  • July 13, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
A customer-centric approach, where feature suggestions end up being actual features in a matter of weeks. Ease of use of the platform, simplicity, and transparent pricing options. Excellent audit logs and easy MDM installation on Apple devices, including local account takeover.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not all SSO integrations have documentation which might make the implementation harder. Hardware key authentication is only available to administrators. Administrator and user portals are separated, which is sometimes a little tedious when testing new integrations as it requires a log-out and a log-in. MDM doesn't yet support Android.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
By centralizing access management across multiple regions and offices into one platform and utilizing deep integrations and automation with our HR system, we were able to eliminate human error and mitigate risks associated with unauthorized access to systems.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Utilize as many integrations and automation options as possible - especially within Directories and HR systems - to ensure automatic and straightforward access management and user provisioning.
