Helped so much, but could be better!

  • June 22, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I liked the students being able to raise their hands, using instant polling, being able to mute on entry, having chat control, having the ability to change hosts, or assign a co-host.
What do you dislike about the product?
That when I have all students I can't have all videos on or the audio is "glitchy". So we had to spend most of our last three months of school with our video off. I would like better audio and video capability if I were to continue using Zoom in the fall.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problem of not being able to teach in the classroom. I found the whiteboard and screen sharing very beneficial. Using Zoom in conjunction with GoGuardian allowed me to look at my student's screens and help them by using the text tools.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Play around with the controls first to see what options you have and want before starting your meeting for the first time. Make sure when you are talking your microphone is green and not red (muted) it sounds simple, but you would be surprised how many times people, including myself, forget they are muted.

Powerful, Friendly and Reliable Conferencing

  • June 02, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The user interface is one of the best features of Zoom. It's friendly and approachable in ways that Webex and Skype have historically not been. Moreover it's reliable. I've never found Zoom to let me down, whether it's a personal one-on-one call with a friend or a business meeting with 10 or more people present. The product also works on multiple platforms. It's great on the desktop as well as on a smartphone.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not too bad, but Zoom was criticized recently for lack of security compared with competitors. So they jumped in quickly and tightened up the security. For a while it seemed mandatory to have passwords and waiting rooms, and this added layer confused me and the others I wanted to communicate with. More recently it seems to have stabilized. I now use the waiting room feature but don't bother with passwords.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps my small virtual team stay in touch with one another, wherever we live and work. For example my chief developer is in Maine, and I'm in Massachusetts in the U.S. Of course we also use it with clients reviewing the sales and marketing materials we develop. It's screen share feature is powerful and reliable.

Zoom Workplace Review

  • April 28, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the consistency of the product. Zoom has been able to maintain consistency in how the product operates, integrate new features, continue popular features, all without changing the basic functionality of the end product. For me, when i start using a product and each new "update" requires me to learn a new way to work with the product, it often gets overwhelming and ultimately too complex to use efficiently. Because I use Zoom Workplace very often, I see the changes as they happen, and if there is ever an issue with something not working or unclear how to use, customer support is very attentive and prompt. Also, Zoom was a very easy transition during the Covid era and the whole platform just made it easy to go from in-person meetings to meetings online with little to no interruption in the services I provide.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not like the fact that I cannot verbally chat with only one person in the meeting (a.k.a. sidebar) if I wanted to share something. I have to do that ONLY in the chat feature or via file share. While I can do this in a private breakout room, the host must create that room and I'd have to leave the main meeting to do so. I also do not like that if I share a pdf, for example, my attendees cannot see it. I cannot figure out why this is so.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a teacher, this has allowed me to stay personally connected with my students and maintain my class structure and accountability. Also in this regard, it has allowed me to continue to help individual students by connecting with them virtually and helping them through homework problems. I have many students who go on to college and because Zoom is virtual, I am able to meet with them, or even hold classes with them even though they are far away. It has made getting groups together for the purposes of education very easy.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try all of the alternatives. Zoom is NOT the only virtual meeting software available. There are many free options. However, once you do, you will find that precious few of then have the capabilities of Zoom. In my experience, only one other piece of software has been able to provide the same basic functionality as Zoom, but Zoom still wins, for me, in overall features applicable to my experience.

Zoom is one of the most reliable meetings tool out there

  • April 23, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I always use Zoom when it comes to conversations online. It's more personal and builds more trust when I am talking with clients or potential clients than chatting over email. It's easy to make presentations and share the most important details about a meeting. I always had a great experience using zoom as an attendee/listener. Every option is easily available and you can find it fast. Sound settings are clear and separate in zoom than on a computer and the setup of speakers and microphone is easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes people are not sure how to set up a call and schedule it and send the invite so you need to always copy the ID and password to join which is a little inconvenient, especially If you have a lot of different IDs for other meetings as well. This could be emphasized. The option to raise your hand is a little bit hidden under the part called to participate and would be great if would be better accessible. We cannot send files over zoom anymore.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am solving the problem of distant communication and getting more people, connecting with clients, have easy and seamless communication. I use it for online classes as well as for sharing the material. It saves me time and it is really convenient to join I don't need to worry to connect or not as I know it will always work.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking to connect with your clients more 1-1 and build instant trust, zoom is an easy-to-use meeting tool. It's reliable and has lot's of options to create a great meeting experience for every party involved.

The Future of Video Conferencing

  • April 21, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Zoom makes it easy to connect and collaborate with teammates seamlessly. The video and audio quality are great, and the backgrounds are a lot of fun. It's a simple conferencing tool to use, although it could use better support. I've had a lot of success using Zoom with external candidates, and it has met my team's needs when it comes to remotely hosting interviews.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some major privacy concerns have arisen, but it seems they are being taken very seriously to protect against vulnerabilities. With all newer platform tools, especially those that are cloud-based, security issues will arise, but the more important thing is how the company will react to such problems and help create acceptable solutions to them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaboration and communication with distributed teams in different geographical regions. It has helped us work more closely together and increased our output and efficiency.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Zoom is top of the line when it comes to video and audio quality. It's web and desktop application work well for all users, but it can get a little expensive and there are some security concerns.

What do you like best about the product?
Zoom makes having conference calls and screen share sessions super easy for both me and my clients.
What do you dislike about the product?
Occasionally there's a bit of an audio delay.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It provides an easy way to interface with my clients remotely. It's also much easier to initiate screen share sessions.

Zoom has made my job easier!

  • December 04, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that we can use this tool for our all-staff conference calls or externally for coalition calls or video conferences as well as webinars. It's versatile and easy to set up, considering I am not very tech savvy.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not have much to dislike about this tool as I may not know all the functions it has to offer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to let the members of our organization learn about some of the legal and policy work we are doing as well as be leaders in coalitions by providing webinars and conference call lines. This allows us to create more educational forums that are accessible for all!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Any way possible to make the phone numbers shorter or at least the pin? It's hard to use when calling from away on your cell phone. Or is there an easier way to make the pin copy and paste or clickable?

A platform worth using for great calling experience

  • November 21, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Voice clarity is much better compared to other sources. Meetings are recordable.
Screensharing.
Background change/virtual background.
Chat with participants
Breakout rooms
Raise hand feature
What do you dislike about the product?
- Give everything that is needed for a decent call experience. Cant thinkof any disadvantage or cons for using zoom.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it for conf calls to share documents and screen. The first impact is the clarity of voice, which is way better than WebEx. Sharing screen and sharing documents are another benefits.

Best web based video conferencing

  • October 22, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have yet to have a problem connecting to someone on a video conference using Zoom.
What do you dislike about the product?
To be honest, there’s nothing that I have found that I dislike about the platform yet. I guess I could say that sometimes it’s a bit confusing how best or most intuitively to invite other people.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is mostly used for remote meetings with colleagues as well as to conference with my students. It was also extremely helpful during remote classes during the pandemic.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
As I said elsewhere in this review, it is the best most accessible web based video conferencing software that I have found. It works great across long distances and is fairly intuitive.

Zoom is an easy to use platform.

  • October 21, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Zoom is a staple for our organization to communicate with our colleagues and external partners. Zoom has new features that make working in that space even easier with various integrations. It definitely has come a long way since I started using it 8 years ago. I prefer it over some of the other online calling and webinar platforms available. They have also improved their accessibility features for those who need it. I would definitely recommend it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Since adding the app, I do not use the online version as much. However, when I am using a link from someone outside of my organization, it gets a little complicated to navigate between the online paltform and the app. It seems that the system gets confused as to which one supersedes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Zoom, my boss can be anywhere in the country and we can chat face-to-face and discuss things with a group to plan events and share ideas. When we had to patch in an employee for a meeting from the middle east, it was pretty easy. We submitted the meeting id to her a few days before, and she joined the meeting just a few minutes prior. The group in our location could ask her questions and discuss details that otherwise would not have been answered without the Zoom meeting capabilities.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are on the fence about which type of video conferencing to go with... Zoom should be at the top of the list. I know there are so many others out there, but it's an easy use format and can only get better over time. Calls are clear, it's easy to set up a meeting, and it it can integrate with other platforms such as Microsoft Teams to make your workflow more seamless.
