Amazon EC2 Systems Manager Agent 現已預設安裝於 Amazon Linux AMI 版本 2017.09 及之後版本，並且在 Amazon Linux 套件儲存庫中提供。
過去，Systems Manager Agent 安裝於 Amazon 發佈的所有 Windows AMI。現在，Systems Manager Agent 也預設安裝於從 Amazon Linux AMI 啟動或建立的所有執行個體。若要開始使用 Systems Manager，您只需將 AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) 政策連接至執行個體，無需額外的設定。更新或重新啟動代理程式不會中斷任何進行中的 Systems Manager 操作，如同 Run Command，因此您可以隨時執行此作業。您亦可將代理程式日誌上傳至 Amazon CloudWatch，如此即可讓您診斷代理程式，無需登入執行個體以取回日誌。
Systems Manager Agent 為開放原始碼，可在 GitHub 取得，因此您可以隨需自訂代理程式。
Systems Manager 可用於所有商業區域及 GovCloud。
