Large companies often struggle to use generative AI applications at scale for many reasons, from not properly following AI policies or regulations, to not maintaining high security standards. This new venture between generative AI startup Writer and Amazon Web Services (AWS) addresses these issues by offering a complete platform that ensures both strong security and scalability.

This expanded, strategic collaboration between Writer and AWS marks a groundbreaking development in our mission to advance generative AI applications featured on the Forbes list of Global 2000 companies.

Writer’s full-stack approach helps businesses quickly achieve their goals for critical tasks, and our ongoing collaboration with AWS allows us to empower our shared customers to create custom AI apps and workflows that boost growth and productivity. Writer is available on the AWS Marketplace, making it easy for customers to access our enterprise AI platform. Not only that: Writer has achieved the Generative AI Competency, the top designation awarded by AWS for AI solutions, in recognition of Writer's proven expertise in driving the advancement of generative AI innovation for AWS customers globally.

Together, Writer and AWS have helped companies like Accenture, Qualcomm, Commvault, Vanguard, and more leverage cloud infrastructure and Writer’s full AI platform in order to build and deploy secure and reliable AI applications across their organizations. We're thrilled about the positive impact this partnership will have on businesses like yours.

Commvault accelerates growth with Writer's secure AI platform via AWS marketplace

Commvault, a cyber-resilience platform, protects the world’s data so that it can be recovered instantaneously in any environment. Through the AWS Marketplace, it uses the Writer platform to help employees increase productivity, accelerate time to market, and foster creativity across departments.

“As a data security company, we knew generative AI would require strict adherence to AI policies, regulations, and the highest security protocols,” said Anna Griffin, chief market officer at Commvault. “Writer’s full-stack platform delivers strong security coupled with scale. It’s completely customizable and can continue to grow with us cross functionally. The ROI was instantaneous in time savings across our employees. Tasks that used to take up to 12 hours are able to be completed in a matter of minutes.”

Advancing LLM innovation with Amazon SageMaker Hyperpod

Writer is pioneering a new era of LLM development, and our work with AWS is a crucial part of our growth strategy. The latest innovations from AWS have allowed us to train our models faster and get them into the hands of our enterprise customers quicker, helping them optimize generative AI workflows that deliver impactful ROI.

With the expanded collaboration, Writer is training and fine-tuning its new industry-leading models including Palmyra-Med, Palmyra-Fin, and Palmyra X 004 with the Amazon SageMaker HyperPod. Amazon SageMaker Hyperpod offers high-speed training capabilities and inference and delivers low latency and high throughput for Writer, ideal for model training. Writer has also used Amazon SageMaker HyperPod to develop Writing in the Margins (WiM), its new inference pattern for LLMs, designed to optimize the handling of long input sequences in retrieval-oriented tasks. Partnering with AWS has provided us with the tools to accelerate innovation and bring new capabilities to market at a rapid pace.

Putting top-performing models into enterprise developers' hands with AWS Bedrock

With this expanded collaboration, AWS will also add Writer’s top-benchmarked financial, medical, and frontier models to Amazon Bedrock for millions of developers through the AWS Bedrock Import Your Own Model.

Amazon Bedrock greatly improves how developers can access Writer’s large language models (LLMs) by offering a fully managed service with a simple API. This setup makes it easier for developers to use various powerful foundation models, including those from Writer, and helps them add advanced AI features to their projects more easily.

Leading the charge in enterprise transformation

As the landscape of generative AI continues to evolve, the collaboration between Writer and AWS sets a new standard for innovation and efficiency in enterprise AI solutions. This partnership not only accelerates the deployment of cutting-edge AI technologies, but also paves the way for future advancements that will redefine how businesses bring unprecedented intelligence to their operations through the power of AI.
