    About the event

AWS Startups and Diversity VC are excited to present: “Intersectional Innovation: DEI Considerations for GenAI in Media & Entertainment” bringing together founders, investors, and ecosystem experts to discuss the past, present, and future of GenAI in the media & entertainment landscape - and how DEI plays a part in the story.

GenAI is still in its early stages, but we’ve already seen it make waves in media & entertainment. The writers’ and actors’ strikes of 2023 brought it firmly into the spotlight, and while the final contract was widely celebrated as a “win” against it, the technology is undoubtedly still seeping in. We’ll discuss what applications of GenAI are starting to show up, and where - and the implications of its use.

Existing products are far from perfect, and some have already been called out for bias, or even overcorrection. As more gets built, how can we make sure GenAI creators and builders are considering DEI in their products? What are the consequences of ignoring it? Our panel will highlight why taking an intersectional approach to innovation is crucial for GenAI to have the positive impact it seeks.
