What do you like best about the product?
R-Studio provides users with a complete data recovery software with undelete capabilities. Initially developed for data recovery experts, data specialists, IT professionals, and system administrators, R-Studio Data Recovery software is clearly built for advanced and experienced computer users. The software may be a bit confusing for the less experienced users but it also comes with a step by step wizard to help simplify the learning and implementation process.
What do you dislike about the product?
1. Hard to change the size of the windows automatically. E.g. When I use SAS I have the keys set up so that one key runs the analysis, goes to the log window and zooms it to the full screen. AFAIK, in RStudio you have to use the mouse to do this.

2. Use of projects is kind of complex.

3. Some key combinations that are nearly universally used for one thing are used for something else in RStudio e.g. ctrl+R doesn't open a find and replace, it adds a line

What do you like best about the product?
R is really good in terms of working with complex graphs. Packages like igraph and sna are great for working with social networks data and are fairly easy to use. Lots of packages are developed by users for specific purposes not already provided by RStudio and that are generally useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Often difficult to work with, needs decent programming skills. Programs developed by users often have bugs
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

R Studio

  • December 14, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that R Studio is a bit more of a GUI than base R. It makes the user experience a little better. I also find the help tools to be really useful in learning how to run analyses that I'm unfamiliar with.
What do you dislike about the product?
Like other aspects of R, there is a learning curve.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using RStudio for analysis of ecological datasets. Repeatability is very important for many analyses.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would use this over the traditional and clunkier version of R, but you'll still need to know how to code in the R programming language.
