Once I got my head around it, I just got it
What do you like best about the product?
where are many things I like about the platform, a few points would be that I do not need to update individual components anymore. Drag and drop, Flow diagrams
What do you dislike about the product?
some of the naming conventions could have been wording more like traditional coding approach. the naming convention is a little confusing at times
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main issue is the cost of developers, my jurisdiction it is expensive to hire developers, OS allows us to keep a lean model
A very robust low-code development platform

What do you dislike about the product?
Limited number of partners. Due to which the pricing for the partners is not too competitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Development of Web (PWA) and native mobile apps. Single set of "code base" increases team throughput.

Outsystems - Redeeming Time
What do you like best about the product?
Over the past couple years I have been using my lifetime-developer account to create prototypes using this low-code platform. I love it! I have had absolutely no formal training using this tool, yet, I have been able to create complex prototypes, integrate to Azure or other SQL databases and help other developers do the same. The wizards do 80% of the work of creating your list and edit forms. When working with complex data structures, the Service Studio always seems to know what you haven't assigned yet and is always make accurate and "educated" guesses about what you may want to do next. It is so much faster than writing code and the deployment model almost always assure that you always have working or at least publishable model to come back too. Result, is I can spend more time with my family!
What do you dislike about the product?
I was going to say that it needs a better workflow tool, but I just heard that is coming out in Q1 2020. There is only one minor nag that I don't like about Service Studio and that is there is a parameter in the bindings configuration files that is not big enough and I'm having to manually edit this file and increase that number several times a week (defaults back after upgrade or problem). It's a known issue and I've seen it on the forum and I'm sure it just because I have a complex application that is probably pushing some limit. Or perhaps there is a design issue that I haven't learned yet....all in all though it's a great tool and I highly recommend it even if just for the lifetime developer account.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Internal application development
The quick and easy low code solution
What do you like best about the product?

What do you dislike about the product?
I really can't think of anything negative to say about Outsystems
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

A Solid, Stable Platform for Low Code Development
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite component of the application is the RESTful API integration and Integration Studio. Being able to customize extensions to legacy systems is a big selling point.
What do you dislike about the product?
XML integration with SOAP could use some more polish. Many XML data sources (sadly) do not provide a WSDL file, especially legacy or government systems. I also wish that OutSystems supported SAML OOTB instead of having to use a separate connector.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
At our city, we are solving problems ranging from asset management, work orders to business licensing. It cuts down on response times and processing times, making life easier for citizens and employees alike.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Start with small applications first before moving to bigger implementations. The platform works best when apps and modules work together instead of trying to build 1 or 2 all encompassing apps.
