Amazing time to value, but do invest in a CoE as well
What do you like best about the product?
The multi-channel experience of mobile and web using pixel perfect UX and a robust offline mode makes OutSystems a clear winner for our IT department to address a long backlog of business requests that couldn't otherwise get of the ground.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am hoping for a better citizen developer design/build experience, so there is an onramp for them to begin working with OutSystems and grow their skills. The citizen developer demand for a tool is very real, and I'd like to cater to it in a controlled manner to allow even more value to be gained from this platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
OutSystems is addressing a gap we had in delivering digital solutions to our 5000 field operations staff. It is also an alternative to resorting to high code traditional application development practices that is becoming increasingly hard to be effective at and meet current UX expectations.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Set up a Center of Expertise to foster and govern adoption, by providing best practices, architecture & value reviews, and build out a community of practice.

I'm solving obsolescence issues by migration MS Access applications to outsystems. Also stopping Shadow IT by providing my citizen developers with a tool that out-of-the-box provides security, centralized repository, contingency, etc.
