JumpCloud Delivers - But Make Sure Someone Technically Strong is Implementing
What do you like best about the product?
Jumpcloud fills the gaps for our small business clients - too small for a large Windows domain environment but too big to just go without proper user management tied to an LDAP. Especially when you add in the SSO options with Office365 and other platforms.
The policies for systems is a decent Windows Group Policy replacement, and critical for small companies without Windows domain but nevertheless want to have Group Policy like control over their workstations.

What do you dislike about the product?
Jumpcloud is quite technical to implement, really not easy for our Tier 1 support techs to get involved. Really requires higher level administrators to manage. The knowledgebase tells you what you need but is so technical i wouldn't trust anyone below a Tier 3 to follow and implement.
We are a Managed Service Provider and the MSP functionality requires a few hoops to go through, rather than be available right off the bat. I get why they do it (because of the free licenses under 10 users) but as an MSP i'd love to be able to manage all my clients, big and small, under one pane of glass.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
BIG help in client environments that are Mac and PC. Tying them under one roof has made Jumpcloud irreplacible for some of our clientele.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you have a technically strong engineer/technician available for implementation. Jumplcloud has good documentation but does not hodl your hand, you need to have a grasp on your own of the technically requirements.
Great Application
What do you like best about the product?
Simple way to manage a small office/retail organization. Provides what is needed without a lot of overhead. Makes managing a small staff easy and accurate. Cloud based administration means adjustments can be made from anywhere. Users like that they have the same user experience on the different systems they use. Also, this creates a more productive environment for the organization.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be nice if there were more Windows policy options. And a bit more user friendly interface in the policy area would be appreciated. Although it may be I just need to be more familiar with Windows policies and therefore would understand what is going on easier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Am able to manage multiple Windows systems from one place. Moving or adding users between systems is a simple process. Updating systems or adding user icons or links has become a simple process. Keeping the users experience the same across all the systems they use is possible and relatively easy to do. Our organization is able to focus on the customer instead of being frustrated with the equipment.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give it a try, it has a lot of capability. Makes managing a moving target of users easier and provides a level of control / security for the organization. When a user calls and indicates they need to use a different computer it's a simple log into the administration area and assign them to the system they will be using. Presto! Their user credentials are copied over and they are able to log in and start working.
Great all cloud solution
What do you like best about the product?
Not requiring an AD server and replication services.
What do you dislike about the product?
Requiring a long list of local accounts on windows PCs for each person authorized to sign in.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We wanted to get rid of our servers and replication issues.
Great product and easy to get up and running.
What do you like best about the product?
JumpCloud is easy to setup and allows us to control machine level GPOs and centralize authentication for our users. Also nice that they support 2FA which allows us further enhance our organizations security posture.
What do you dislike about the product?
The JumpCloud agent for OSX works but we have found there are some small problems here and there which cause unexpected issues, it would be nice if the JumpCloud support was more receptive to our tickets instead of putting the blame on another vendor and having us jump through hoops even though we never experienced these problems until installing the JumpCloud agent.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have been able to remove shared logins for our internal infrastructure whilst being able to give users relevant access and permissions when required, JumpCloud is also helping us out a lot with ticking a lot of boxes required for SOCII audit.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would highly recommend considering JumpCloud it has a lot of features a lot of the other vendors don't have and for the price it makes sense to at least evaluate JumpCloud
Very good solution for experts and novices alike
What do you like best about the product?
I like that it is cloud based. It is very easy to use. I also like that you can use it for free with a limited number of people. We have a small office and it is a great alternative to an active directory server.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing really to dislike. I would like to see more integrations with API. There are still a few programs that it does not integrate with.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed an active directory type solution for all of the computers and laptops that our company has but we didn't want to pay for an onsite server to run the active directory. It has also made it very easy to onboard new employees and deactivate user rights for old employees after they leave.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try everything on yourself as one user before emplomenting to whole team. Also spend time showing your team how everything works and why it's best so that they will embrace the change.
Directory for the family
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite feature for jumpcloud is the GSuite integration. One password to rule them all! It makes helping out my parents, who aren't the most tech savvy people, and my siblings much much easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't actually have any complaints for using jumpcloud yet. I've only been using it for a couple of months but these couple of months have been great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest problem I had to solve was user accounts on a couple of computers that I maintain for my father large family. With 12 people and two computers, I needed a way to have account control on the computer without setting up an entire active directory. With jumpcloud I can set up a new computer, change a password and add users in just a couple of clicks from anywhere in the world.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
They have the tools and walkthroughs to move away from active directory. Especially for small business this is a life saver.
Easy to use, reliable
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use, just works. Extensive documentation.
What do you dislike about the product?
Didn't find any downsiedes of Jumpcloud yet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Synchronizing user accounts between Windows AD and Linux
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it out.
Great Solution when Active Directory is just overkill.
What do you like best about the product?
Quick, easy central control of credentials for multiple systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
We love single sign on, but too many web services consider it an "enterprise" feature, so it is not as widely available as it should be.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping passwords synced on systems that may only get used occasionally, can be extremely annoying. Being able to update passwords in a single, central location saves a ton of time and confusion.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just try it, you'll love it.
This survey is too long, I tried to complete it but too many questions! Bye
What do you like best about the product?
Deploying software to remote workstations! Policies for both Apple MAC OSX and Windows PCs - storing the disk encryption keys. Free for up to 10 devices, easy to use for home computers!
What do you dislike about the product?
Not enough SaaS companies with SSO authentication have instructions for Jumpcloud SSO
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Avoiding all of the extra clutter of AD, GPO and easily able to support remote users without VPN complexity
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Implement ManageEngine alongside JumpCloud to manage patches, etc.
