A truly game-changing company!
What do you like best about the product?
HIPAA Compliance is a must for our organization. Jumpcloud provided that to us in the easiest way possible. Having the ability to add updates and policies to all machines without investing thousands of dollars in equipment destined to degrade over time is cost-effective and seamless. Utilizing Jumpcloud is quick and easy, even for technicians that have ZERO experience with such a product. It has increased our productivity ten-fold.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lacking some basic functionality, but nothing that can't be improved on in future updates. The support team is very open to ideas and improvements. Some of the things that could be improved on would be support for Android devices, built-in policies, increased leverage for roles and permissions for admins or sub-admins in the dashboard, drag and drop devices into groups... overall, the functionality is there but as things progress further into maturity the possibilities are endless!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Deploying updates to machines couldn't be easier. Having it as a web based application makes it that much better. The cost-effectiveness mentioned earlier is such a HUGE deal for us as a non-profit company. It has increased our productivity and allowed us to focus more on our growing cloud-based network of products. This is much more convenient than having to lean harder on hardware that will inevitably degrade and break or malfunction. The cloud based direction is a MUCH better option, especially in a field where reliance on technology is so high.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
My advice to anyone considering swapping or migrating is "DO IT". As we progress into a future where cloud platforms are available to replace aging hardware, it only makes sense both financially and logistically. You won't regret it.
Great alternative to on-prem LDAP
What do you like best about the product?
JumpCloud does a great job at being a central point of IAM for corporate resources. The zero-touch enrollment experience is very well documented, and we were able to easily set that up for new employees. We are now shipping laptops direct to employees thanks to JumpCloud.
What do you dislike about the product?
JumpCloud could use much improvement in the SSO/SCIM area. A generic SCIM/JIT connector, the ability to custom brand the user portal, and the ability to hide SSO apps would be a great improvement to the SSO aspect of this product. It's not quite there yet as a drop-in replacement for Okta or a more mature SSO product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We do not need an on-prem directory server which we are very thankful for. We also have deployed a zero-touch solution for macOS and have almost entirely automated the onboarding process
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's headed in the right direction but there are still some features that need to be fully baked for it to be a fantastic product.
JumpCloud DaaS is a great alternative to AD!
What do you like best about the product?
For cloud-centric organizations, JumpCloud offers all the functionality we need to manage users, devices and provide single sign-on from many SAML, LDAP and RADIUS apps.
What do you dislike about the product?
Built-in MFA could be easier to use. Currently it uses TOTP, would like it to use a push-notification app like Microsoft Authenticator (without having to pay for additional licensing, like Duo.)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JumpCloud has allowed us to run a non-AD, platform agnostic directory infrastructure. We also use it to install software and various other configuration.
JumpCloud for Directory Management
What do you like best about the product?
The centralised control that it provides across all of our systems. We are able to add users, provision them on various directories, such as Google, and have used the SSO functionality extensively.
What do you dislike about the product?
Password change on Mac has been problematic in the past. Apple were changing very quickly and JumpCloud didn't appear to be keeping up. That appears to be behind us now.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Centralised directory management - allows fine-grained control on system access and immediate revocation of access if required. It has become much easier to manage access to our systems.
Excellent Active Directory alternative
What do you like best about the product?
No on premise equipment to maintain. Multiple "servers" in one (RADIUS, credential mgmt, etc).
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be nice to have a better formatted web version for mobile devices.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Able to setup a RADIUS wifi network, MFA logon for Windows laptops, and VPN access. Simplifies credential mgmt by having a single authority.
Jumpcloud is a very good product that helps us operate more efficiently and securely
What do you like best about the product?
Ability to control security features on computers and setup workstations remotely. The SSO integrations are very strong and allow you to create users in other applications if the integrations are set up. The MDM control for Apple products is very useful and makes managing them much easier. PC management is also improving as they roll new features out. User management, updating passwords, and giving users access to applications is very easy and straightforward. The ability to create users in other applications makes my onboarding process much smoother and easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
Having to update 150 user names to what we have on the local computer for them to capture the account. The VPN system was difficult so set up but may have something to do with our network technology. They didn't provide the best support to help solve this but there are a lot of network solutions in the market.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automation when creating accounts across the SaaS products we use, giving us a cloud directory and controlling computer security, and a SSO for users to access applications.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Explore all of the things JumpCloud has to offer and put a plan together to do a complete rollout because it's easy to get side tracked and not take advantage of everything they have to offer. Make sure to test out policies before rolling them out to all users in the company. Consider how the solution will work with the rest of your systems as a whole.
Strong Product, Excited for Future Developments
What do you like best about the product?
I like that it seems JumpCloud is trying to develop an all inclusive solution for management both access, but devices through the introduction of the MDM platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the features are still in their infancy, which is a dislike, but, I would say if they are delivered well that will be a plus for JumpCloud.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Password management and increased security posture. Our organization used to have no passwords linkage, so users were responsible for remembering many passwords. Additionally, access to Wi-Fi can be controlled with JumpCloud via their radius solution, meaning one less call to the help desk.
Jumpcloud allow us to manage remote users
What do you like best about the product?
Gives us the ability to manage user credentials and systems without on premise hardware. It allows for us to run remote commands on our laptops while our users work from home so we don't have to remote into their laptops using teamviewer or splashtop to gather information.
What do you dislike about the product?
User creation is difficult and sometimes requires you to set information a couple of times. For creating G Suite accounts you have to first create the account and then set the password again to sync it with GSuite. I also would like it if it would generate a one time password for the user and force them to change it at next login.
It is also annoying that you have to buy their systems and directory insight upgrades to get visibility into the usage of the system in your environment
It is also annoying that you have to buy their systems and directory insight upgrades to get visibility into the usage of the system in your environment
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows us to manage remote workers and equipment with minimal time and effort. Instead of setting up different user account on their computer, gsuite, and Microsoft 365 accounts, I just need to set it up once and it will use the same credentials for all their accounts. With the LDAP and Radius server it allows us to gain better control of our local servers and wifi systems to improve security for our users.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give it a thorough evaluation and ask a lot of questions to their sales and support. If you want to use the SSO functionality verify the services you want to use it with have the correct license. Their sales and support are great to work with if you need help figuring out anything.
Very positive and developing with good relationships
What do you like best about the product?
The scalability, the easy of use and the attention to development from the team. New features re quite promising. The breadth is growing and i can affect the future of the releases by providing feedback and at the same time get updates. Very good communication with the account managers. The rollout was easy and the fact that it is secure and backed by a ever growing team. The tool is very compatible with Gsuite products and gets more and more support for others. Works well with various platforms and collaborations tools of the today's age. We had a very good adoption of it and it was very easy to train staff to work with it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some issue still appear the UI can get a bigger boost to polish up the time it takes to places. Some free space can be optimized, i.e compacter view. Some features may need faster release to publicю
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
User directory, asset management, governance of company data and hardware via a centralized tool. Helps us also to get a glimpse of what is going on in general and also utilize the SSO in future for better centralization. We are hoping it can help us get the most of the features in case they are able to implemented fast and easy, and as the main problem is centralization, it takes a while. We have connected a set of tools already and it is helping also in connecting them and getting an easier login solution.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you have time and resources to learn as it is different from On premise solutions. But once you get the hang, it is much easier
JumpCloud successfully used to manage endpoint and access to LAN
What do you like best about the product?
MdM features allowed us to manage endpoint security and users/device binding
What do you dislike about the product?
JumpCloud user persistence after client installation
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Laptops management and user device binding
Recommendations to others considering the product:
JumpCloud provides excellent cloud directory service and MdM capabilities
