Great Active Directory Alternative
What do you like best about the product?
Overall I have had a really great experience with JumpCloud. The setup is very easy and straight forward. There have been new features added recently that have also been a welcome addition.
I have not had issues with stability and have never had to troubleshoot issues with logins.

What do you dislike about the product?
There have been issues with Remote Desktop connections and Android MDM policies. As of writing this, I have outstanding issues but unfortunatly customer support has not been helpful in resolving them.

JumpCloud is much easier to setup and use than Active Directory.

SSO made simple
What do you like best about the product?
I like that it makes the task of setting up SSO and IDP easy. I also like that the dashboard is easy for end users to connect to.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a little bit of a learning curve if you are using a different IDP which in our case was google. There was a step by step guide but it took a little bit of time to determine how to create it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are trying to implement JIT provisioning from the admin side and also easier onboarding new
JumpCloud is a great introduction to start towards a zero-trust environment
What do you like best about the product?
JumpCloud is easy to use for employees and also very easy to admin. IT's favorite feature is that it works with Mac, Windows, Linux, and Chrome OS. It is the one ring to rule them all. JumpCloud was easy to implement progressively in tiers. Customer and implementation support has been very friendly and helpful. Every employee uses JumpCloud to access all core applications every day. JumpCloud integrates with literally everything we use.
What do you dislike about the product?
All of the Con's are cultural in nature. It is difficult to get people used to doing everything themselves to accept change.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JumpCloud is our Identity System. It provides identity services for all regular and privlidged users. Consolidation of access controls is a beautiful experience. MFA for users is simple, it relies on users having a phone and hosting the authenticator, but that is another plus because a phone is nearly equivilant to a person.
Best Overall MDM
What do you like best about the product?
I have used several MDMs as a system admin of over 10 years including JAMF, Tanium, SCCM and Intune. I have found that JumpCloud has a very robust and intuitive interface. The learning curve isnt as severe as other MDMs. Its built for today's geographically distributed workforce. Addtionally our CSM is very responsive and there are tons of resources and documentation available to increase your knowledge.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the endpoint policy management is not granular. Specifically, allowing admin access for certain applications that will allow users to install some updates or plugins. However, the temporary admin access is a work around but it has to be enabled.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jumpcloud solves our MDM issues and user management.
Lot of moving parts, but does everything you need
What do you like best about the product?
Supports lots of policies to manage remote workers' machines. Self-serve setup flow for employees, although MDM profile installation can be error-prone.
What do you dislike about the product?
Installing software for your employees with Apple Business Manager is a pain but you can work around it (you have to install the apps on a custom user group and link that up in JumpCloud).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing remote employees' machines and enforcing various policies to constrain what Macs can do
A flexible solution with a powerful API
What do you like best about the product?
As a directory platform and SSO provider, JumpCloud does things pretty comprehensively. The Google integration and availability of LDAP is pretty handy, and SCIM provisioning support for supported apps is welcome. New features are released pretty often, and are sometimes available for early access.
Implementation costs will vary depending on what you're moving from, what features you're aiming to use, and the size of your company.

What do you dislike about the product?
The process of migrating vault data into the Password Manager could use some improvements.
Support can be a hit or miss when it comes to complex issues.
I'd like to see support for shared signals in OIDC, but to my knowledge that's not on the roadmap.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For use as an SSO IdP, both SAML and OIDC integrations are supported and can be created manually: this flexibility has made it quick and easy to move many web applications away from UNAP.
Using custom automation to handle API requests to JumpCloud from Jira can be a very powerful way to use and modify directory data from an internal helpdesk, or other internal projects.
JumpCloud offers MDM for iOS, Android, Windows, and macOS devices: we use this and policy management extensively across our devices.
