Feature-Rich, Attractive Project Management Tool
What do you like best about the product?
My team and I primarily use Smart sheet's Sheets to create project timelines. Compared to my previous experience with similar project timeline software, Smartsheet is cleaner, more intuitive, and has a more attractive UI that makes it quite enjoyable to look at and work with. The sharing feature also enables easy collaboration with multiple team members.
It can sometimes be challenging to determine where to start when creating a new document; however, Smartsheet's wealth of templates, especially project sheets, takes care of that.
While I don't have a business need for them now, I am interested in exploring the Dashboards for personal task management and team use in the future.

What do you dislike about the product?
The downside to such a feature-rich program is that there can be quite a bit of a learning curve, which has admittedly prevented me from exploring additional tools and capabilities outside of Sheets.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Smartsheet allows my team and me to easily create, update, and collaborate on developing intuitive and attractive project timelines that are flexible and accessible for all team members. Despite many other options for creating team project timelines, we repeatedly return to Smartsheet.
Capable with some practical shortcomings
What do you like best about the product?
Lots of logical automation that take the burden off of you. I managed to break down our process and included logical and safety features that do not allow us to make mistakes. In the past, we were exposed to human error but now alarms being sent over emails if something is off, rows being turned red if something is off helps us a lot.
Once you have everything in spreadsheets then the next good thing is reports which you can schedule to be sent automatically. As long as original spreadsheets are diligently updated, reprots are always up to date.

What do you dislike about the product?
Some practical features are missing for running a day to day running of your business. Running and managing your carpool and drivers has no good solution. Other apps have this better solved.
Clocking in and out is only thought of for Middle-level employees. In case you have a lot of ordinary workers with their company ID that have to clock-in clock-out, there is no practical solution.
Reports. Smartsheet offers great report building options when looking at reports on desktop. But the minute you send the report to yourself, you get unstructured raw excel or pdf file?!?! Why!
What I really dislike is a big subscription gap between the basic subscription and the next level (forgot the name) that gives you more tools. Not linear increase of pricing. The jump had us look for other software solutions.

It helped automate steps, reduce email chatter, increased level of communication on specific maters with dialog options within the task/project/work. Reporting is also automated and reduces the information gathering from multiple people's inboxes and spreadsheets.
Works for what we need
What do you like best about the product?
I like that multiple people can work in the document at the same time. Having a space for shared files is key!
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be nice if the files could download in a more organized way than just one zip file. I also dislike that they changed access and required us to spend a significant more about of money to use it the way we needed. Overall, I still feel that it is worth the money for what we need and use it for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Previously, our clients would send us files via email and then we would have to save them and then update a checklist. Now we can do it all in Smartsheet along with everyone being able to access it and see the progress.

What do you like best about the product?
One can relay from one project to end-to-end work management, where anyone can create the solution. It is better for work management, collaboration, visibility, accessibility, and integration.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not cheap (cost for licenses). Has more prompts for the user. Less friendly interface. The dashboard can be better or customizable.

Smartsheet its helpful but, however there is room for improvement
What do you like best about the product?
I like that is connects our team together, it is easy to find sheets and you can view it on your phone. I like that you can comment on a row and add attachments to a specific row
What do you dislike about the product?
There are simple spreadsheet features that would make this product 1000% more useful. For example, it doesn't have a tabbing feature which would cut down the number of different sheets you have. it is hard to do simple math sheets and use it for finance. the automation are more complex than they need to be, i wish they have a version that was more like a simple spread sheet. it hinders the experience because they made it more complicated than it needs to be there are too many rules you need to follow to set up what you want.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
have a place everyone in the company can have access to to view information and track project status and task management. I think it allows us to be more organised and cuts down on messaging info.
A great intuative program with very little limitations
What do you like best about the product?
Smartsheet is a great way to communicate between different groups in our organization.
I can review the workings of different projects all at a glance.
I like the notification automations and how easy it is to set up.
I appreciate the speed and clarity with which staff has helped me when I have had issues as well as their reception to feedback.
The integration with other services has been quite easy as well using power automate to download and export my sheets daily to my offline database.

What do you dislike about the product?
One of the features I am missing from base programs like Excel are Queries and a bigger row/cell limit but I recognize it might be close to impossible to implement on an online platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Through Smartsheet we have been able to track the progress of our production workflow and send automated notification to many different parties at specific flag points.
This has enabled better internal co-ordination leading to more efficiency overall.
Also we have been getting daily tracking reports to analyze at the end of the season which was something we never had before.

A multi purpose project management tool
What do you like best about the product?
We started using smartsheet to keep track of the tasks, visibility is important when assigning the tasks and smartsheet make it easy to hold everyone accountable.
What do you dislike about the product?
The issue we are facing is that of the organization of the sheets, it can only be organized by folder, no other view. So sometimes sharing items within a folder becomes difficult because you cannot restrict the people inside the folder from viewing or editing content.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is solving the problem of managing tasks, keeping data organized, of preparing social media schedules. Our team tracks each project on smartsheet and so far it has worked well for us.

I like that things are easyto track in the sheet.

Sometimes the server goes down for hours.

We are better able to schedule and track enrollment statuses with the help of smartsheet.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This product really changes the way we get to work with our participants, it is great.

What do you like best about the product?
How easy it is to link data from different tables. I like that you can work in a separate space and create directories in it. That I can work with my colleagues in the same space online without integrating more complex solutions.

New points:
1. I would like to be able to set catalogs for reports and if any projects will come into, reports will automatically poll it as the new additional source. Currently, I have to do it manually.
2. I wasn't able to resolve the issues with the cross pages references issue, I can't use two sources in the one formula or even two different columns in a one-referenced project

1. Working with formulas is very difficult, sometimes it is not possible to run the formula, although it is obvious that the syntax is correct.

For example, in order to print a sheet with the names of tasks directly in the working field of the Gantt chart, you need to create a separate report, and only through it will it be possible to carry out this simple function. But even if you do all this, you won't be able to see the current dateline. There are many such shortcomings.

It was possible to create a single company milestone chart in difficult ways, but I just won’t go with it anymore, since the tool is quite difficult to work with
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is easier for operational work and does not require complex implementation of programs such as Microsoft Project.
Great tool for Project Managers
What do you like best about the product?
Best features of the tool is the project management templates. Project plans are easily done through the template Smartsheets offer. With date dependencies, it makes PMing easier than doing this on Exce than other tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's seems a bit slow compared to Excel. Excel is faster to use. Sometimes it gets difficult to choose between the two platforms even though SmartSheet offers more features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using this for project management. We use it for project plans, RAID Logs, weekly status reports, and dashboard. It's an easy tool to collaborate with others and share information.
