Cloud platform duct tape: bind your vendor services together
What do you like best about the product?
Tines' approach of using simple primitives (HTTP web request, event transforms, binary logic actions) makes it easy to build complex workflows that interact with *any* service that has an API. Service X doesn't have Feature Y? You can create a workflow that does it yourself in a few minutes. Automate alert responses, keyword-based code review, to-read lists for software documentation, issue tracker management; the possibilities are limited only by your imagination.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some advanced use cases need some un-intuitive Liquid behavior (like converting to and from object). The team is very helpful when encountering issues, but empowering users to "do it themselves" would help. Default Liquid isn't very good at array processing. Implementing map/filter as Liquid custom filters would be a *huge* benefit for some advanced workflows.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are currently automating our tier-one security code review with Tines, along with targeted threat modeling tickets for new software projects, alerting for secrets in issue trackers and documentation CMS platforms, and two-way syncing between issue trackers.
Tines has allowed our small security team to scale beyond what is possible with manual checks and ensure that our team spends our limited person-hours on tasks a human must perform.

Love Community Edition, So Powerful for Free Platform
What do you like best about the product?
Working in a small Business, Tines gives me enterprise quality automation for free with their Community Edition. I signed up expecting there to be limitations on what I could do, but the only limitation is the number of use cases you can build-out; and I've already built out three full use cases, and I'm not even at the limit yet.
If I ever moved to a bigger company or got an increased budget at my current one, upgrading to Tines' full product would be my first priority.
The customer service in their slack community is absolutely brilliant; all questions are answered promptly and usually with a quick solution.

What do you dislike about the product?
To be honest there is nothing I can complain about given I'm not paying for it. Any problems people raise in the slack community is taken on board straight away so any issues or dislikes are unlikely to last very long.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Previously I would have spent a couple of hours a day on repetitve tasks in incident detection and response. Since using Tines I've freed up time in my day and also increased the quality of my output. Even taking into account building out my use cases, I had probably saved time by the end of my second week using it.
The product is very good and improving at that, but the support from the team is absolutely stellar.
What do you like best about the product?
It meets an astonishing simple requirement. It provides a framework for automation. And just that, nothing else. I am not deluged with a sales pitch for 3 other features that are half-baked, I've got a team laser-focused on one thing they do really, really well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing at all, tbf. The tool delivers what's advertised. Any bumps in the road the team is there to support and advise. They've helped us get past all of the tricky bits (and there can be some as you'd expect interfacing with various and sundry APIs and external apps.)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Security Ops automations, and in particular providing access to the tools all the way down to the analyst, who likely knows best how and what to automate.
Simplicity and Convenience
What do you like best about the product?
ease of use, this tool can be used by analysts and engineers at any level of experience and doesn't require any special skills.
What do you dislike about the product?
tines is a UI tool and there is not a way (yet) to build stories as code.
No darkmode yet.
No darkmode yet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
making it easier for analysts and engineers to concentrate on the actual incident rather than spending hours gathering and analyzing data.
we've saved hundreds of analyst hours by creating automation with tines around all processes in I&R flow that can be automated and more.

Simple to use, automate it all!
What do you like best about the product?
Interface is intuitive, simple to use and navigate
What do you dislike about the product?
Shopify liquid might fall short if doing complex things.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A lot of security automation such as security slack bots, alert enrichment, automated response to alerts and integrations with third party threat intel sources.
The solution to take your orchestration to the next level
What do you like best about the product?
Ultimate flexibility (just about anything is possible) and excellent support from the Tines team. The platform is very cleverly architected, and allows for a wide variety of use cases to be easily implemented.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some initial learning curve and having to manually manage changes to APIs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
More automation and implementing actual processes, rather than alerts that trigger manual processes (that may or may not happen).
Excellent introduction to security automation.
What do you like best about the product?
As per my title, and being new to this whole enterprise security architecture thing, I found this to be a great introduction into security automation.
What do you dislike about the product?
There have been minor annoyances, but nothing stands out. And the weekly meetings have been wonderful to keep it to a minimum.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have been doing Vulnerability Scanning automation. Unfortunately, I haven't been working with Tines long enough for the latter question.
Tines is an amazing SOAR Tool.
What do you like best about the product?
I like its ability to talk to other API's and manage playbooks. Its fast moving and will be a major player if its not already.
What do you dislike about the product?
Its code section I wish was a bit more like an IDE.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving the interconnection between different tools. We are able to build complex run books that can use multiple tools to create complex runbooks and extremely useful automation.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need a SOAR tool that will be easy to get up and running Tines is your tool!
Great automation platform to connect your existing tools
What do you like best about the product?
It is a great platform (probably the best around) to help glue all of your other security and incident management tools together.
What do you dislike about the product?
No specific dislikes the platform is early in it's life so the team continues to make it more robust
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automation of workflows between existing tools.
Simple, Easy to Use, and Powerful Tool
What do you like best about the product?
It is very easy to begin using Tines. The story/workflow concepts are easy to grasp and allow even those with minimal programming experience to easily develop and implement complex workflows.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't really say that I dislike anything about the product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have used Tines at two different organizations to implement security orchestration and automation capabilities. Through automation, we have been able to reduce headcount requirements significantly. Additionally, the benefit of implementing automation is that it scales very well in today's cloud and SaaS based infrastructures.
