Saves valuable time while helping automate integrations

  • April 07, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Tines help me save time by making it easy to integrate systems without needing to research each platform's APIs and to test each integration to ensure accuracy.
What do you dislike about the product?
I really haven't found anything that I dislike about Tines. They have made some significant progress since I've started using the platform. I will update this review if I find anything else missing or problematic.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In just a few days, I've made significant progress in automating a workflow that analyzes a blocked domain to which a user is requesting access. This request will now go through Tines to evaluate and allow this access without needing our team's interaction.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Start with the Community Edition and see how well it works. You'll find the platform invaluable.

Tines is a great and easy to use.

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use and the GUI. The story-boards are simple and not cluttered or bloated. All you need to do is drag and drop and connect the tiles with lines. There are plenty of templates that also contribute to the ease of use.
The Tines engineers are very helpful and always available.
What do you dislike about the product?
The documentation needs updating. Also, when using formulas, functions, etc., the documentation doesn't show which actions to use them with.
The documentation should also show the events that result from those actions and functions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are automating manual tasks since we have a very small engineering/analyst team. We are only 2 people and we have to perform incident response and triaging for Crowdstrike detections.
Tines is helping us automate our alerting, notification, and ticket creation activities that would normally have to be done manually.

What do you like best about the product?
I love how you can post curl commands and simplify calling APIs, parsing data, and taking action.
What do you dislike about the product?
No major dislikes at the time. Still exploring its capabilities.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Currently attempting to automate vulnerability management workflows between static code analysis scanning tools and internal issue trackers.

Elegant solution for integrations

What do you like best about the product?
Tines provides a beautiful, easy-to-use, and developer-friendly product for developing integrations. We found it extremely easy to create a sophisticated and clean implementation of an authenticated HTTP endpoint that would allow us to trigger our CI/CD environment from any source that could send a webhook with authentication. Tines saved us a lot of time and effort with this kind of infrastructure "glue" that can be time-consuming and difficult to configure correctly.
What do you dislike about the product?
WYSIWYG editors are convenient, and Tines' is beautiful and responsive, but it deviates from infrastructure-as-code practices that we prefer to use as developers. It would be even better if Tines stories had the option to be implemented as stories-as-code and stored in version control.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Tines to connect business systems. Specifically, Tines allows us to create event pipelines from an upstream source of truth to a downstream system to perform automated actions for managing users and other resources.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Create a private account and play with creating integrations. You'll be impressed at what you can make and how little time it takes you.

Fantastic automation & orchestration platform!

  • March 01, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Simple and intuitive graphical editing of playbooks, pre-canned playbook components, full suite of essential base components necessary for modern SOAR.
What do you dislike about the product?
Inability to extend capabilities into secure environments, e.g. on-premise or inside cloud tenancies without exposing API's/etc to public Internet in some way.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Security automation & orchestration use cases.

Great solution, great business partner

  • February 14, 2022

What do you like best about the product?
Tines is like Grand Central Station - it's an excellent platform for organizing and automating the data coming in and going out of the many solutions you're going to use. Full disclosure, I'm a Sales Engineer with Lacework. Just about every prospect I talk to asks me: what's an excellent solution for automating actions on the intelligence your platform would give us? And I tell them Tines. If you want immediate automated remediation, if you want user-approved remediation, and if you want a great UI that walks you through the setup process in a clean, intelligently designed, helpful UI, Tines is an excellent solution. Keep up the great work, Tines, and it's great being in this business partnership with you.
What do you dislike about the product?
Like any solution, there's a learning curve in the beginning. Once in a while, the error messages you get from a downstream target API (cloud platforms, for example) are mysterious, and the Tines docs may not have the answer. This isn't a Tines problem, but if you don't have a friend around to show you a working example, you may spend some research time in the downstream vendor's docs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a Sales Engineer at Lacework, Tines is an excellent tool for talking about our product in the larger context of downstream solutions, like auto-remediation. I can quickly spin up a demo that shows the whole picture, with a very clear UI that I don't have to take a lot of time to explain.

Tines makes automation easy

  • February 11, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The platform is easy to navigate and easy to use. I am a novice when it comes to coding, but I was able to create my first story in less than an hour. We integrate with various security tools and this process was very easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can honestly say that I do not know of anything that I dislike.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Tines to automate processes that the team are spending a lot of time on. These processes do not require any human input so by automating these we will have more time for the team to focus on more important things. We are getting time back.

Security and workflow automation simplified

  • February 09, 2022
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Tines offers an intuitive, easy-to-use platform to automate fairly complex security-related workflows. Something basic like aggregating security findings from various tools and performing de-duplication on those findings could take hours, if not days, for an analyst to configure in other orchestration platforms using Python. Not only is this workflow available out-of-the-box (as a template) from Tines, the actions and integrations Tines offers can significantly reduce the time needed to get the workflow up and running. Also, the support team at Tines is super responsive and willing to go out of their way to help out.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not have anything I necessarily dislike about Tines right now. The interface is intuitive, and the support team is responsive. Since Tines offers a free Community edition, it is an excellent way for security teams to try out the product. One suggestion - For smaller companies that want to expand beyond the three stories in the Community edition, it would be great if Tines can offer incremental packages with 4, 5 or more stories. The next subscription tier has a minimum of 10 stories but may be priced above what many smaller companies and startups can afford.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Tines to automate 1) a couple of our more complex and manual workflows, such as aggregating security findings from different tools, and 2) one incident response workflow that is time-sensitive. With Tines in place, we have been able to focus more of our time on strategic initiatives. Though we are still in the relatively early stages of using Tines, and we do expect to gradually refine these stories, we have already seen the benefits and potential that Tines can offer!

Intuitive even for a layman.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the structure for either formulating or building my concepts, and my interaction has been smooth. I also like having the ability to see the code and test in real-time.
What do you dislike about the product?
My human error. There is nothing I have identified yet. There may be applications out there I am not currently aware of it may not integrate with but this is not known. I have not evaluated it to its fullest extent.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Simple Google Form automation has enabled an entire organization to connect their ERM to an intake form based on the RSM control sets which will scale across the enterprise.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great for security content creators with minimal coding/programming experience.

Tines make security automation seamless

  • December 08, 2021

What do you like best about the product?
Integrations are super easy - We just need to copy the curl request
Good collection of inbuilt templates
The way credentials are handled impressively and very easy to use
What do you dislike about the product?
Case management is not available. It would be nice to see at least an elementary version of it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ease of use and ability for Engineers to start without much programming knowledge.
Ease of adding new integrations is a game-changer, and of course, the credentials(you don't need a third-party credential manager like how you do in similar tools in the market leaders)
