Review of Asana and my task board
What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is to understand without many tutorials or run down and also the easy UI to make & organize tasks and also to sub-divide them ! Also most of the basic features needed are free and that is the best part. I am using it well that at this point I do not mind paying for an upgraded version if it is going to be more fantastic than it already it!
What do you dislike about the product?
The fact that it is not colorful nor lets to use any background savers (wall paper like things) and the fact that it is free only with certain features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I chalk down all my everyday goals and overall project management goals and break them down accordingly and also allot it to specific person. It is easy to use and keep track of what ahs been done and what has to be done. Also constant everyday reminders help me keep a tab on my progress everyday.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I personally enjoy using Asana. I learnt about it when someone recommended it in a group on facebook and I tried it and I love it ! It is so easy to use and the learning curve is very minimal. It also sends regular alerts on your pending tasks so you know what you must do. I recommend giving it a try if you haven't already. Best part is basic features are free. So definitely worth a try.

Asana is a good tasks management tool
What do you like best about the product?
I like the possibility of following the tasks of all team-members, having on-going tasks as projects. There are also additional tools that could be synced in with Asana such as Gant charts, which makes it even more useful for long-time projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think it would be best to have access to Asana from a program installed on the computer instead of logging into the website.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Benefits are that it is easy to follow who has done what and at which level of every task people are at the moment. This makes it easy to cover for a colleague when they're OOO.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It has a bit more complicated interface than Basecamp, which makes it more overwhelming. On the other hand, it gives you a good visibility on everybody's task and is easy to manage. gives more options than Basecamp, one of which is to sync the software with other softwares (partners) and implement Gant charts for example.
Its great but would appreciate a few small changes
What do you like best about the product?
I like the fact that, assuming everyone uses it to its potential, that all assets, messages and tasks for a project can be kept in one centralized location. I also enjoy all the integrations, i.e. Harvest Time Tracking, Zendesk, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that there was a way to set notifications to show on the individual tasks that the comments relate to. Sometimes I think it is easy for things to get lost in the shuffle if I miss the Asana email or lose sight of the message in my Asana inbox. I also wish that in the list view if there was a way to color-code the tasks, possibly red, yellow and green...
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are attempting to make our process more efficient and keep everyone aligned on the going's on of each project. Like I mentioned before, it is only as good as the the amount that people use it.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
They offer a free trial/version so give that a shot. Also determine your long term goals with the product itself and any other potential add-on programs.
Get your projects and brain organised with Asana
What do you like best about the product?
Asana keeps releasing new features. I love that, depending on our needs, we can toggle between "Boards" and "Lists" to cater to any project. In addition, with open integrations to TrackDuck, we can track our website changes all through Asana to ensure that nothing falls through the cracks. We also use the mail forward feature a lot to keep our inboxes squeaky clean.
What do you dislike about the product?
Checking in on projects and tasks for teammates can be cumbersome at times. Also, the reporting is not easily printable, which makes it hard for weekly meetings.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana allows us to centralise all of our ideas and projects. My team can keep track of everything in one place, including personal projects, and we can even check in on how our customers are using Asana via the multiple organisations feature. It is a truly amazing tool!
Simple to use, intuitive and powerful
What do you like best about the product?
Beautiful, intuitive user interface. Configurable to suit a variety of needs.
The mobile app is well built and reliable.

What do you dislike about the product?
No "Undo" in most situations.
Reporting intuitive overview "view" or report (or at least not customizable to my specific needs).

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Help managing delegated tasks. With asana, I spend less time managing my team. This frees up more time to high value tasks.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's intuitive and you can try it for free. Check out the short guide videos and play around with it. Try to manage one small project with it before making the full move.
If you have a complex workflow, it might not be suitable, but then again, it might be helpful to simplify the said workflow

The design is really good, the user experience is awesome and the more you use the more you need it, its a no brainer!

What do you dislike about the product?
That you can`t tag two people in one task. I understand that is better sometimes, but sometimes we would like it to do it.
There aren´t more things that i dont like.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are trying to organize the roadmap of the projects and the tasks that are little chinks that make the big ones.
We are more productive and the things are always written and with a date to finish the task.

Try it! If you don´t like it you can go back and choose another one, but for me is the best one hands down.
Asana Review
What do you like best about the product?
It provides a current list of tasks that are complete and incomplete. What I love is that it is capable of sharing the list/tasks with others and they see visibility on the project as well. Also, members of the project can add tasks as needed as well and then it notifies others, even if it's assigned to another member.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it would sync with my outlook calendar. Currently, it added in another calendar and is separate. It would be helpful if it synced in one place vs having calendars overlapped to see all the items due. Other than that, Asana has really great features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Trying to get every individual to switch over to this task manager has been a challenge only because they're use to what they've been using. Once they've moved over, it has helped us in managing a project and making sure we see it all in one place. At times, we've added the customer as well, which then gives the client visibility on how we're doing as well.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a great program for those wanting to share tasks/projects with internal AND external individuals.
Amazing for individual use and for team use
What do you like best about the product?
I love that I can add tasks from my phone or from my computer. I love that I can create tags for all of my projects and easily focus on work based on tags or workspaces and projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was a place to catalog all of my tags. I tend to forget what some of the tags were that I used and it would be nice to have a catalog of them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My entire team uses Asana to track our publication calendar. We would have so many emails and mail pieces dropping all the time that Asana helped us space out publications so that we weren't creating fatigue for our constituents. It also has helped us realize that we are very email heavy at the beginning of the month and not towards the end of the month. We were able to space out our publications and be more strategic.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I think the tags are the best part about this program. We are able to tag projects based on emails, phone or mail solicitations but we can also tag which quarters they dropped, who the target market is and if they were for an event or solicitation. Then when it comes time to focus on a certain area we can just click on a tag and pull that up. For example- what do we have comming up in Quarter 2? Click it and there are all the tasks.
Absolutely Love Asana
What do you like best about the product?
I love the visibility that Asana gives our Stakeholders. Through using Asana we've taken what used to be 3-4 hour meetings and trimmed them down to 30 minute meetings!
What do you dislike about the product?
The fact that they don't have a solid Windows Phone app is the only thing that i would say that i dislike about Asana. Considering the tools that Microsoft provides to easily make apps that bridge all 3 platforms, i don't know why people continue to treat us Windows Phone users like the black sheep!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
API Integration was easily implemented. Ability to associate tasks with one another while keeping them organized by area of concern, while still providing great visibility and notification of progress has been life changing.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would definitely give Asana a shot if you're at all unhappy with your current task software
Good all around team management
What do you like best about the product?
The fact the no features are disabled for small teams. That makes it perfect for a startup, who is looking for the innovative features, and is a good candidate to scale up to the larger paid account.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not a dislike per se but my team members are reporting that the use of the software is not fun. Asana has not cracked the problem of "burdening" feeling when using these task management apps. It feel like a chore to have to report everything after doing it.
True, that the ability to communicate within the app is very helpful to that effect, but it is still not ideal.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using it to manage day to day activities and to allow visibility within the team.
The main benefit is visibility and the ability to plan ahead and track the past. We are not using Asana forinternal communication in an optimal way, i.e. all comm is not done via the app.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try to have ALL your communications recorded in the app i.e. cc the relevant tasks in all relevant mails.
