Love it, easy to use!
What do you like best about the product?
I've been using Asana for my personal projects for a while, and then I introduced it to the office. I've sent the information on it to about half a dozen people, and the two teams I manage use it daily now. It's a great way for us to really collaborate and the My Tasks screen is a fantastic way for me to really get an "at a glance" view of my daily to-dos :)
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd love it if there was a group chat function that was global for the team, rather than just the commenting element in each project individually.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Communications between team members on where we're at with a project have gotten so much better, and it's much easier for us all to just log in to the dashboard and see where things were left off at. It's been wonderful, because with so many moving parts, and the ability to add comments and files to the tasks makes it very easy and straightforward.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana is a clean, user-friendly system with a lot of options for customization. If you're considering it against any other project management systems, I'd highly recommend just playing with a demo or a trial of Asana. It's quick and easy to learn, and there's no harm in giving it a go!

Asana great for teamwork
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate that with each task I can assign and track an individuals progress. Everyone can we working on the same task, we can see what each of us are responsible for, how far along in the process we are, and can chat all in one area.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that the free version doesn't allow access to a few of the templates. As a nonprofit, the subscription is a little pricey at the moment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaboration between development, marketing, and program departments. For example, we have an event sponsored by several corporations. Asana allows us to create one large project with multiple tasks, assign tasks to individuals, communicate how the tasks are going, and pull together a nice project. It helps to ensure that we utilize all brands of corporations and follow through on grant and sponsorship contracts in all departments.
Asana made team work easier
What do you like best about the product?
I enjoyed working on Asana because I could easily organize my work with my different teammates and bosses. It was nice to be able to sync up what everyone was working on to stay organized and keep things moving efficiently. I also liked that I was able to work with calendars to make improvements and get notifications for when things were complete and or added to my list of things to do.
What do you dislike about the product?
There wasn't much that I disliked about Asana. I did use it during a couple of different versions and never really understood the changes though.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were looking for ways to work together easier and coordinate different tasks together. I have realized that when things are streamlined together in one system that syncs up our efficiency level is very much improved.
Love the addition of Boards
What do you like best about the product?
I love how simple it is to create a task list, assign out tasks, and track progress. They recently added boards to a project and I am LOVING those. It makes it much easier to organize a project rather than just a bunch of tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
I like that they have sub-tasks within a task, but I wish you could see a list of all your sub-tasks without having to break into a task. It would be nice it if were easier to see those in one place so one doesn't get missed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has made it easier for us to track how projects are going without having to ask every five minutes. We can get a quick snapshot on how it is going, add due dates and see how a project is coming along.
Asana saved my team's projects
What do you like best about the product?
I love that Asana allows my dispersed/always on the go team to keep on top of projects - ask questions, reassign tasks, add tasks, etc. - all in one easy place.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish the list of my tasks + tasks I've assigned to others could be side by side - I want to track the status of everything outstanding that I've assigned people, just as much as I want to track what I've been assigned! Maybe this is a thing already - would be awesome to know about if so.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Streamlining projects both within my team and across teams without tasks and goals getting lost. It helps us make sure that every detail is assigned and accounted for.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great to keep yourself organized, but even better to keep teams organized.
Asana: great way to stay on task in multi-variable work environment
What do you like best about the product?
I used this website/app during my time working for a non-profit through AmeriCorps in New York City. Really liked how well-organized the site was. The side bar on the left made it easy to see checklist items and what needed to get done. The layout was very aesthetically pleasing and appealing to look at; made me want to use the app more.
What do you dislike about the product?
I liked the vast majority of features on Asana. It may have been helpful to have some sort of tutorial or something, though, because there were so many aspects of the website that it was difficult sometimes to navigate all of them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problems of staying on task, focused, and not forgetting when things are due were all vastly improved through using Asana, as it made clear what tasks each employee needed to complete and when.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try this product out; a worthwhile addition to the technology usage of your company.
I couldn't live without Asana
What do you like best about the product?
There are so many things to love about Asana. The interface is very clean and pretty intuitive so it's easy to find what you need and create tasks and projects super fast. I also love that you can color code things. The layout makes you think of things in terms of more than just one big to-do list. It really teaches you how to plan for the short-term and long-term as well. I like that it synchs with my calendars and I can add team members to view my projects and collaborate with me. You can attach files and images to tasks too which is helpful. It's a web platform so you can access it anywhere you go. Also, you can set up reminders for tasks so you never fall behind.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't think of anything I really dislike. I've used it many times and it has helped me stay on task a whole lot better than just paper and pen alone. I guess the only downfall is if you switch the main email address you use, I don't know if you can switch your Asana accounts so every task you made before will now show in the new one.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helped me to get more organized and stop making so many to-do lists that are spread out everywhere. I was writing to-do lists on little scraps of paper, creating Word documents, and using Evernote. Each of these sytems has its own pluses and minuses but overall having a system where everything is in one place helps a lot. It helped me think like a project manager and you learn how to break down big tasks into smaller ones so that you have a bigger chance of completing them. I love that you can also prioritize tasks and move them around easily. It makes it easy to change your mind or adjust projects as you go which is crucial because sometimes you plan for things to go a certain way and then realize you have to make adjustments. I have an intern and it is nice to be able to share my Asana with them and help them also learn how to plan big projects.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If anyone was considering Asana, I would say go for it. It's super easy to use, it's a web platform so you can access it anywhere and it'll change how you plan your launches and your whole business.
Great for assigning and tracking tasks!
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is great for assigning tasks and tracking their completion for different projects and teams. It's very customizable and keeps me from having 30 paper to-do lists on my desk. It's also great for tracking recurring tasks (you can set them to recur automatically), and you can share documents and resources for projects (integrated with Google Drive).
What do you dislike about the product?
I get too many emails from Asana. There is probably a way to update email preferences, but I haven't figured it out.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having a streamlined way to set tasks with due dates and track them among teams has helped a lot with follow-through on projects. It helps us stay organized and creates accountability for doing the tasks assigned to you in a timely manner.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There are a lot of tutorials available. You don't necessarily need to use them to set up and use Asana for your company, but there are a lot of extra features and customizations available that can be useful.
Favorite project tracker
What do you like best about the product?
I love how dynamic asana is. We use it for all sorts of project tracking at my organization. The tagging and organizing functionality, and the different views and export capabilities help me keep all of my projects very visible throughout the organization.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were more project templates. Also, when you're fully using the functionality (with tags, multiprojects, etc.) - some of the views become hard to use because the title looks so long.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We made reporting very scalable. Before we all had our own to do lists - not very organized. Now we track everything, and anyone can see the status of any project. It's cut down on a lot of admin time collectively.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
We ended up buying more seats that we thought we would need because this was so handy. It's also good to give stakeholders access to see the process - but I audit our users monthly and revoke access for people who aren't using the program.
I would definitely recommend using the project templates!
I would definitely recommend using the project templates!
Asana Review
What do you like best about the product?
Project tasks and subtask ability – keeps my work organized and moving forward ( for the most part :)
Additionally the "board" view is nice and priority tracking
Additionally the "board" view is nice and priority tracking
What do you dislike about the product?
No gannt view for the lifecycle of projects. There's a plugin but it forces my team to keep all my project tasks under one "Project" ( i.e. me ) to see a full overview at once.
I wish there was a separate area/window for attachments that could also be separated into multiple folder "directories" - such as "assets" and "proofs" – and, (like Google Drive) allowed me to select multiple attachments and download at once ( with maintaining the file name. )
This would also keep the task attachments area so much cleaner. It gets overwhelming with the comments thread and makes that task run so very long! :(
