Simple to start, deep if you want it

What do you like best about the product?
I use Asana to track my To Do list across a large number of projects and teams. I like that I can pull ToDo's from all of those projects and put them into a single list to work from. What doesn't get done today can automatically be on the list for tomorrow, or I can flush it and start clean.
What do you dislike about the product?
My biggest problem with Asana is that it's not easy to prioritize tasks. I would love to be able to prioritize by importance and urgency.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana helps me keep a consistent and organized list of what I need to do each day. I get a sense of peace and focus from knowing I'm not forgetting something, and a sense of accomplishment from crossing things off.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Dive in for sure -- it's easy to get started and they offer a free plan that lets you have a really great test drive.

Asana for Startups

What do you like best about the product?
Love that it allows my team to collaborate from wherever there's a wifi signal and most capabilities are available on their app.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that you could assign the same task to multiple people. i.e. an article you want your entire team to read I currently have to create the task for each person.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps keep everyone accountable and organized, works great for remote teams or if you travel frequently
Recommendations to others considering the product:
We use it company wide for our onsite and remote teams.

Asana is simple and has a great freemium if you want to give it a shot

What do you like best about the product?
Love the design and the easy set-up. They really dont get tangle in too many feature. I like the subtask feature a lot, it's endless and it's easy to manage. The dependable task in the premium version is also quite cool. I also like their chrome extension that allow me to add task quickly. Same with slack integration. They also have a desktop app.
What do you dislike about the product?
You cannot cut/paste a picture... You can drag and drop, but not cut/paste. Which really slow down my work pace since it's an action I do often.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Web Project Management and other business stuff. It's our go to place for task management,
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Simple and effective project management tool. If you're looking for something heavier, maybe give a shot to TeamWork.

Asana is perfect for my business

  • January 05, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We a huge list of To do's and when needing to organize a group of employees who tend to work from home, Asana has helped mainstream all work. Perfect way for me to track what everyone is doing and have also seen positive results since we started using it.
With the constant new tasks that come in I"m able to update and assign tasks to everyone. Great service as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find that I'm having an issue with it when I use it on android..
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The hardest part of my business has been keeping track of all the new tasks that come in, ensuring that they are completed and being able to track them. I've been able to keep track of everything through Asana.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great way to keep track of all to do lists without missing out on anything.

Confusing, at Best

  • January 05, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like receiving updates from my calendar when something is due. That keeps me on track with completing my tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are too many threads for each project and too many opportunities to lose track of the tasks. Also, it is difficult to share my calendar with others in the group so they can see/get notifications when something is due. Often, the administrator has trouble finding what I have posted in the threads.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to have all of us see the project tasks and to communicate with each other in one place. We also have all of our completed tasks in one place, so that makes keeping track of them easier.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would definitely learn the Asana program in great detail, which I haven't had the time to do. Then, compare Asana to other project management tools to make an educated decision about which to use.

Clean UI, Detailed

  • January 04, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's a very collaborative tool, easy to see what everyone is working on and what tasks are assigned throughout a project. The UI is clean and pretty easy to work through. It's nice to see everything at a high level, but also have the opportunity to dive into the details.
What do you dislike about the product?
It was a bit confusing at the start, once multiple things were assigned, it started to make sense. There also wasn't a very intuitive way to set up a view that would be defaulted each time I logged in. It also takes awhile to boot up when I go to the website and log in.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management can be pretty easily tracked through asana. It's great to look back into previous tasks and see the details if a reference is needed.

Great team project management tool

  • January 04, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the ability to break down tasks into infinite subtasks, each with their own due date, assignee, comments, tags, etc. It makes managing and segmenting out the work for different projects so much easier, and is very helpful when you work with large teams and large projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was more variety in the kind of "views" of projects you could have. Something more visual, with dragging and dropping to different sections (similar to Trello) would be more helpful to me as a visual learner. Sometimes, the lines of text can be overwhelming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Since our team has no dedicated project manager, Asana works to help keep everyone on track and aware of how much another team member has on their plate. It focuses both our daily tasks, and our monthly goals and so on.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana is a great way to organize your team, and if you have complex projects, it allows for segmenting out each minute detail as much as you like. If you wanted a more structured, spreadsheet style of project management software however, I would look elsewhere.

Easy as pie!

What do you like best about the product?
I felt as though my projects were piling up and I wasn't sure how to organize them . My supervisor was feeling the same way. We found Asana! She sent me an invitation via email which I liked. I like how simple the website is and how easy the platform is to use. I love how organized it makes you. I also enjoy that you can choose to take a task and complete it.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the amount of emails they send . I already use the program and app. I don't feel I need emails marketing the product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Much more organized. Realized the benefit of being able to work with groups of people on a project and have questions in one place through use of the comments section. When we have meetings, we can now task things to each person.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This really is a nice tool to have. It's very simple, clean design makes it easy to stay organized . No clutter.

Great way to keep you and a team of others organized

  • January 04, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I am just learning the advanced features of this software but is it great for staying organized and on track. I love the task calendar and workspaces.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the notifications on the inbox get lost when you have a number of projects going on at once. I wish there was a better way to sort them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Speed is number one. Keeping better track of projects is another. Setting due dates and sub tasks is incredibly powerful.

Excellent for basic team task management

  • January 04, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana has a very aesthetically pleasing interface that is intuitive and makes it easy to perform basic task management. Team collaboration, basic cost management, and budgeting are also easily performed in Asana.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sub-task management is not optimal. I wish Asana offered unlimited layers of sub-tasks and had better visibility into complete project plans. Project reporting and portfolio management is somewhat lacking.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Asana for a 10 person team. Using Asana for team collaboration and task management is much more efficient that just using Outlook. It is also much easier and makes a lot more sense to use Asana for project collaboration rather than searching through internal emails or trying to manage tasks manually with Microsoft Outlook. All things considered, we probably recognized a positive return on our investment in Asana within a month of deploying just from time savings.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you are comfortable with limited reporting at the project level.
