Asana is my default choice for managing projects and lists
What do you like best about the product?
I love Asana's simple, beautiful design. I also like the constant addition of new features and fixes, such as the Kanban boards that were just released. It's easy to teach my team how to use it and feels natural to adapt to any workflow. I've used Asana almost 5 years and it's always getting better.
What do you dislike about the product?
With all the improvements, Asana can feel a little slow at times. I think the pricing has gotten somewhat expensive if your team is large.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Asana for both personal projects and business projects. It's so easy to keep track of many tasks and projects at once. We've implemented some pretty complex workflows in Asana, too, even though the workflow system is very informal and doesn't include a real assignment or branching engines like more complex products such as JIRA. We actually used JIRA for a while and were overwhelmed by the workflow editing, the security, the "schemes", etc., and found Asana to be 80% of the functionality at 10% of the learning curve.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try Asana or Trello before going after a more complex product. The simplicity greatly lowers the adoption struggles for your team.

Beautiful way to organize your ideas across your devices
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is a beautiful tool and an excellent way to visualize your to-dos across both your personal and professional life. I love the mobile app as well as desktop implementation and am most excited about their new release of cards/boards to visualize and organize tasks through simple drag-and-drop. It's incredibly user-friendly, simple and easy to navigate, and designed with care and precision.
What do you dislike about the product?
No complaints. Asana provides all the usability I need without overcomplicating things. Adding many more features would probably just become tedious—I'm happy with the functionality Asana has now.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
While my favorite way to accomplish tasks is to schedule them onto time in my calendar, Asana is a great way to keep notes and other thoughts at top of mind or save for later. The team updates and collaboration features are handy, and I love how easy it is to rearrange tasks and update them. I'm staying on top of my many tasks as a social media manager and use it as well to keep track of personal tasks.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great tool for personal/individual use, and good for teams as well—but only if you properly onboard everyone and make sure everyone's on the same page about using this. It's only really helpful for team use if everyone is committed to making updates, staying on top of their tasks, using the calendar, etc.
Excellent Collaboration Features and Beautiful Interface
What do you like best about the product?
Asana has made collaborating with my team easy and convenient. I can assign specific tasks to specific team members, set completion date expectations and discuss projects. Also, being able to create different projects that have different team members involved has helped me stay organized with the various aspects of our business. This also allows our team members to not get notified on tasks that don't pertain to them.
What do you dislike about the product?
A realtime discussion feature would be a great addition for our team. If we could live chat about what we are currently working on it would help us stay on the same page sooner. A lot of changes that happen on our projects need an immediate response.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
we manage and facilitate an online school. Write the lessons and work with third party vendors for videos and graphic needs. This software has helped manage every stage of the creation of a new lesson. Our team members are clear on what's expected of them and we're meeting our tight timelines effortlessly.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The more you utilize all of the features of Asana the more useful it will be for your needs. Using the due date and reminder features has really helped our team stay on the same page.
Great Tool For Productivity
What do you like best about the product?
Super easy to learn how to use. Almost no learning curve whatsoever to get the hang of using the tool and communicating with other members. Very pleased with it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes multiple projects are not threaded together when the same team is using Asana. This can be a bit confusing when it comes to locating a project after login. I've found myself a few times having to click through multiple projects before finding the one that I was after.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Communicating with a disparate team across international borders to achieve a common business goal. Easily sharing files and calendars for upcoming events and milestones. Helping to streamline communications that would otherwise be a hodgepodge of email, IM, text, and phone calls.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great tool for easily communicating with your team. Security is a bit lax if everyone has the same member privileges, so keep that in mind. It might make sense to have multiple levels of user accounts for different teams to keep silos separated for both privacy, and ease of communication. Really the only issue I've had with Asana is getting my projects mixed up from time-to-time. Otherwise it's a great tool for organizations large and small, and I highly recommend it for use by others.

3. Status updates has never been so easy!

What do you dislike about the product?
1. I have been using Asana more than a year. Personally, I don't feel any cons as such. Works good for tracking your tasks and your team-mates tasks if you're managing a team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking the work/tasks(week on week / month on month ) was a pain. Asana helped to overcome it with ease!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Must try product. I bet you wouldn't go back!
Asana gets the job done, but it's not always the best UI
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite feature of Asana is the project-setting function. I work on small teams and manage two people. In Asana, I can create a project with sub-tasks, assign them to my team members, and even give them due dates. When they complete them, they just check them off, and I'm notified.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't create the robust sub-categories I would like to on the platform, and I also can't rid of some of the premade ones. It also sorts tasks in ways that don't make so much sense for me. Whenever I exit it out, it resets to "incomplete" instead of "due date," and I have to go in and manually change it again.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're trying to manage small teams efficiently and keep the communication channels open without bogging everyone down with email. It's also essentially a master task list for groups.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's not going to replace email. It might help streamline email, but don't set your expectations too high. Sometimes it's just either to send an unstructured message than set up a structured task.
Lightweight app for teamwork
What do you like best about the product?
The user interface is simple to use and easy to understand. New users can get up and running in no time with little to no instruction.
What do you dislike about the product?
I definitely would like more customization options for both tasks and projects. They have been making advances here, but more would be great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are a remote team managing several projects. Asana allows us to collaborate on all the of these projects seamlessly. We can follow projects and tasks that are relevant to us, and non follow anything else that would be noise. It's quick & easy to see progress updates as well.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I highly recommend! Easy to use interface, mobile access and customizable.
Using Asana for Editorial Calendar
What do you like best about the product?
Asana allows users to create multiple projects, which is helpful in filtering through lists of tasks, and allows tasks to be assigned to team members. Additionally, any created tasks can have tags, due dates, sub-tasks, and file attachments — particularly helpful when conversing with a team and avoiding back-and-forth emails.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lacking a desktop version to view projects and tasks when offline.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Maintaining an editorial calendar to organize and prioritize the news and public relations efforts of a non-profit.
Great tool for group project managment!
What do you like best about the product?
I love the tagging and task following capabilities.
What do you dislike about the product?
I really wish you didn't have a pay just as much as Asana it's self for the time tracking. I think that is a core feature that should come with basic membership. It would be so nice to allocate a time amount to a task so that the team can see workload in that way. Too much to do is our biggest issue right now and we need a way to prove that.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organization and simple project management where huge issues as our team grew. This has helped all of us work together, keep on track, and helps nothing to fall threw the cracks.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Always do your research, but asana is what was best for our team.
Fantastic Organizational Software
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to aggregate tasks in a way that is easy to keep track of, as well as easily transfer tasks between various users.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a completely internet-dependent application; if you do not have a live internet connection you cannot use the software. This is especially detrimental for the mobile app; I would highly recommend for Asana to integrate some manner of background save to the app. Even with a high-speed WiFi internet connection, the app still feels a little sluggish to respond after you have selected a task, as it loads all of the information.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our main pain point was interacting with web developers for our various websites, and keeping track of their tasks lists and updates waiting to roll out. This has greatly helped to streamline that process, and make sure that no task gets missed.
