Simple and Intuitive

  • March 14, 2017

What do you like best about the product?
I love that Asana is so self-explanatory. When introducing new coworkers to Asana, they immediately understand that it's just like writing down a list, with the built in bonus of adding your own sub-lists or assigning tasks to other people.
What do you dislike about the product?
Every once in a while, I feel that Asana is too simplistic and would benefit the user by having more in depth tracking features or wider abilities to assign.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a straight forward way to assign a lot of tasks between our team and set timelines for completion. Asana has helped us achieve that.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want to coordinate a small to mid-size team, this is a great way to be hands-on with task tracking without being a middle manager. Has great tools for sharing too.

Easy, intuitive and good for small teams

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to have oversight of both my tasks and those of my team members is very important. It's easy to set deadlines and stay on track. It has also seemed to have adopted certain elements from trello and other productivity tools which have helped create a more complete product.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are better tools for more graphic-intensive projects. All users on the same domain are automatically included in the same account. This is ok for smaller teams, but for larger more disparate teams this seems like it could create some organization issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a distributed team so it is important that the entire team is able to keep track of what the others are working on. It promotes accountability and allows us to adapt as needed.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
We did trials of a few different options, and our trial with Asana helped cement our decision. If your team is small enough it can stay free and if you're looking for a way to manage your projects, no reason not to try it.

Thanks for making my life easier

What do you like best about the product?
For a while now I've had trouble keeping website design customers up to date with the progress of their website project and what I will need from them down the line. With Asana they can see the tasks that are currently completed and what will be done next. It gives them a sense of honesty and appreciation for each task.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't have an issue, but some of my customers have complained that navigating between tasks and sub-tasks is confusing to figure out at first. I'm not sure a way around this other than more material on using the app for non-technological users. Do you have something like that available?
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This shortens the project timeline I find as clients are more ready to respond with the use of Asana.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Go for it!

Asana is great - when you know exactly how to use it

  • March 07, 2017

What do you like best about the product?
I like that it keeps things in an organized list view and that you can create sub-tasks for individual tasks. Being able to assign things and add due dates makes it easy to communicate with co-workers and delegate efficiently and effectively. It's neatly organized and it's nice to be able to click between project, group, and individual views.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like how tricky it can be to find things. Also there's not a lot of notifications on screen that confirm or deny if I've made any changes. I also don't like how things are "hidden" and you have to really click around to find a note you made or a subtask. It's also too simple sometimes - really just a list.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's great to launch campaigns or for product launches. Everyone knows exactly what they're responsible for and when they need to get it done by. The benefits have been major in terms of organization.

Making projects dues more easier

What do you like best about the product?
The visual thing. Its possible to overview the hole project in one single page
What do you dislike about the product?
It runs so slow the most part of the time, making the users lives a litle bit kind of worried about the speed of their internet connections Bit its not, its Asana beeing slower..
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows our team to create tasks, assigned then, input due dates, integrate with gantt charts, and with time tracked software Harvest, and now we can say for sure how long and how much did it cost a project.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend Asana as a started point to project management.

Asana Helps Me Run My Business

  • February 14, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the project management features and having everything planned out in front of me. All people on my team are connected and communicate easily without having to email back and forth.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing. I think this product is awesome. I would love to see a calendar view of tasks - but it may be in there, I just don't know if I can see it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Virtual team management across distance and borders. Keeping everything in one place. Staying abreast of changes and updating each other. Everything can be time-activated by a date.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it out before you walk away. All you need is one brainstorming session and you'll be hooked!

Asana is a must-have for our marketing team!

  • February 14, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana has been extremely helpful for keeping our marketing team organized! I love the interface — it's very intuitive and easy to use, the new board style layouts are great, and the hidden features like the celebration unicorns and background themes bring joy to my work day. Creating, assigning, and completing our marketing projects/tasks in Asana is fast and easy and keeps us productive and on track with our goals. I literally use Asana all day long every day and I'd be lost without it!

We also use Asana to organize training/onboarding activities for new employees company wide which has really helped us to streamline that process. The new employees are impressed on their first day at work when we present them with their own personal Asana board full of training tasks, FAQs, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be helpful if we could eventually switch projects between the list layout and the board layout, copy tasks between list and board layouts, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We rely solely on Asana to track all of our marketing projects, tasks, deadlines, ideas for future projects, etc. We also use Asana for training/onboarding new employees company wide. Organization, sanity, increased productivity, collaboration, and time savings have been our biggest benefits.

Keeps my team updated and progressing by knowing the status of any project at a glance.

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is a fantastic project management software that reduces email and keeps the team on the same page when it comes to the status of every project in the pipeline.

For external clients, we are able to cut down on back and forth emails about every project, since only the team members and clients associated with a project are included in that workspace and project. We can update the project and only need to review a project when we have a task or want to review status (which is most of what I'm doing managing projects).

For internal clients, we are able to work on projects for each division that treats our projects like we do external clients. This means that projects for growing and maintaining the business happen because Asana displays them objectively and gives us a progress indicator in the dashboard.
What do you dislike about the product?
The app is a bit slow in loading sometimes for me, which is a bit of friction to logging in sometimes. Otherwise, it's best for me to log in through the mobile app.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As I said before, this allows us to work on external client projects efficiently, my team manages their tasks even in the software (while I managing it outside of Asana, but both options are available), and we manage internal client projects as well effectively.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're looking to implement a project management software and want to manage multiple staff, vendors/consultant, and clients, Asana is great. You should identify the workflows ahead of time, and create clear policies for identifying status of each project daily and weekly, and who's responsible for doing so.

Everyday I save time and feel more in control.

  • February 08, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Working in Asana quickly puts me in control of any project--within the context of all the other projects already underway. It's design makes it easy to focus on what you want--and to see the big picture whenever you need to. With Asana, it's easy for me to know 'the next right thing to do' for myself and for others.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd like the ability to shift tasks between projects. Currently, that's not supported without lots of cutting/pasting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
project management > everything is under control
changing priorities > at-a-glance view of the to-do list by calendar, list, project, etc. makes this possible
customer service > pre-kick-off and post-deliverables part of our work are already greatly improved
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana adapts to your processes. You need to be willing to adapt just a little to achieve the most success. Most people enjoy some of their less-than-best-practices. Asana works better in teams if you can leave those 'bad' practices behind.

A modern and fun tool for project management

  • February 07, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I am a huge fan of Asana. As a manager, it makes it so much easier for me to assign tasks to my team, monitor their progress, and ensure tasks are getting done on time. I'm very impressed with how fleshed out Asana is, even for the free version. Along with creating projects, you can assign tasks to specific users, add or change due dates, add notes, make comments, and tag other team members on tasks so they can also receive updates when a project is completed.

Also, there's something wonderful about Asana's celebrations, whether I'm getting a flying unicorn or a yeti for completing a task.
What do you dislike about the product?
Well, I've become so reliant on Asana that I go into panic mode when Asana is momentarily down. Asana does have a few quirks, which I think is because they're a newer platform. If I try to copy/paste text into the headline of a task, it won't show up in the project. There are a few other similar issues that aren't major, but they're a little frustrating. However, the pros certainly outweigh the cons.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Overall, Asana helps our marketing team stay on schedule, keep aware of short and long-term projects, and collaborate. It's definitely made me more productive and it's easier to know what I need to work on each day.

I've always considered myself a very organized person, but Asana helps me take that to the next level, ensuring that I never fall behind or forget about a task.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would highly recommend Asana for smaller teams who want to assign, manage, and track tasks. As for official project managers at an agency, it may not offer all the elements that a paid platform may provide, such as Trello or a similar one. However, for a marketing team, it's a great tool.
