Easy To Use

  • March 21, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
How easy it is to navigate through tasks and how you can quickly create new task and projects. I also like that you can easily search the title of a task to see whose board it is on at that given time and what the current status is off it. Another great feature is being able to not only mark tasks complete but to be able to go back and reopen them if need be.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some shortcuts aren't easily known and take some time to find. For example, making heading within the subtasks stand out more with bold or underlying features. That wasn't in the quick start and took a little digging into and searching to figure out.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Deligating and following up on task. It's easy to delegate tasks to others and then follow up on it and watch their progress. It is also a good way to keep yourself up to date on your own task and what you need to do. You can create a simple to do list (and other lists) for yourself to be able to frequently go back and forth to and check and update your daily task.

Simple and Easy to Use

What do you like best about the product?
I like the assignment feature, it allows me to quickly send tasks to team members and I can quickly see how things are progressing in files.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I loose a task when assigning it. I think my thumb hits the mouse trackpad and it kicks me out of the assignment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project updates. I can quickly see where projects are and their status. I can tell when we are waiting on certain items, and what information is missing quickly.

Productive, Intuitive, and Easy

  • March 21, 2018

What do you like best about the product?
My favorite part of Asana is the many different views that you can see your "tasks". The feature that I like the most would be the calendar view because you are able to see each departments to-do's and when they are planning and when they will be done. This really comes in handy when you are waiting on others work, for your work to continue.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that the checked tasks on lists go away. I wish they would stay so you can see what you have accomplished. I realize this is a personal preference and others may not feel the same way.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Productivity, mapping out our quarters and social strategy planning.
Our productivity has increased exponentially, as well as our plans for the future or even new ideas. New ideas sometimes come and they would be brilliant but for a later time. Asana lets us house those ideas in certain categories so that we are able to revisit them when the time is right. Our social strategy has been affected greatly, as well. We use Asana to map out and schedule all of the content related posts and can stay ahead of our social game.

Good as a basic to-do list

  • March 20, 2018

What do you like best about the product?
I like Asana's due date and comments section. I can set up a task, assign a due date, and make comments about what I need to do. I can also change the due date if I wasn't able to get the task. It's a good snapshot of what I need to complete that day.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am using the free version, and I realize there are many more features available in the paid versions. I don't like that the comments get buried in the task. It would be nice to resolve the comments the same way you can resolve the task. It is also not much use as a project management system. Although, you can have subtasks in a task, there isn't much more you can add then the title of the subtask. This makes it difficult to break larger projects down into smaller sections.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Asana as a task list to prepare for a nonprofit Gala. Asana helps us stay on task with reminders of the days/weeks tasks. We can assign tasks to various committee members and they can update their own tasks as they complete them, or assign it to others, if necessary. We also add documents to share with the other group members which makes it easier to find the document when needed, rather than searching emails or the shared drive.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use Asana as a simple to-do list to keep you on track, but find a more robust software for project management.

Asana keeps teams organzied

  • March 20, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana allows teams to stay organized, and for individual progress to be tracked. I love knowing exactly what is coming up, and the interconnectedness of seeing my team members progress on prerequisite items so I can prepare for a task to arrive in my queue.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana has a variety of helpful options, like sub tasks and follow up tasks, but these are hard to access and not as visually intuitive. I would also prefer tasks assigned to multiple people to stay and individual task, not split into multiple tasks, each with an individual name - or to at least choose an option. Some tasks are truly collaborative, not just repeated.

On mobile, Asana can be difficult to navigate. Because it has so many features, they are crowded together or buried in the app, or eliminated all together (such as options for sorting our how tasks are viewed).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving the business problem of separate yet interconnected teams in a small business. I don’t want my tasks to be on a giant list with everyone else, yet I still need to be able to assign things to them and them to me, while taking into account items everyone is already working on.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana is a perfect tool to integrate multiple teams into the tasks of achieving overall goals, yet still not sacrificing details. Use the features so see what your part is in the larger picture, or making sure your team is progressing towards the larger goal. The mobile app extends the versatility of the platform, though it does have some navigation concerns.

Terrific for a remote team

  • March 19, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana has been great for organiing fundraising tasks at our nonprofit social enterprise.
What do you dislike about the product?
Adams's basic functions work very well, but some of the links with external programs can be glitchy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana is best for a remote team: it can assign tasks, set deadlines, and create clear task lists for project completion, in addition to including links to valid research etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Bring your full team onto Asana, and encourage everyone to use it regularly. It makes things far simpler than using a wide range of platforms simultaneously for similar functions.

The best project management & to do list app

  • March 16, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love that Asana is free and so robust. And I can use it for everything—from tracking my personal tasks and meetings, to managing my business projects with clients. It blows every other app out of the water.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't think of anything I dislike, it's really that good. It's a tab I always have open and use constantly for my business. I guess if I had to pick one thing, I wish the surprise characters would fly across my screen every time I check off a task instead of randomly!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am managing my project tasks, from first inquiry to final deliverables. I no longer email back and forth with my clients, so everything is in one place and super organized.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it! You will love it!

Project planning tool best suited for private use

  • March 16, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The application is best suited for private use of project managements, since you can attach alot of information and metadata to each task and project. It has a good overview of all tasks with associated deadlines/subtasks/comments.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the application for project management of teams, since it cumbersome to synchronize tasks between team members. Ultimately though, the biggest annoyance with the application is the fact that every action requires about 1 or 2 steps/clicks more than you would like. Each commonly used function is hidden beneath a layer or two of options, making the whole experience take alot longer than ideal.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Asana to manage my private tasks. I add subtasks/documentation and notes to each task and assign deadlines to each subtask.

Pretty good PM app

  • March 16, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
This program is GREAT for sharing tasks with a team and centralizing discussion points for meetings. My team uses it regularly for update meetings to track status in the same place as the tasks and everyone can see what they were assigned. We also really like that you can @ individual users and have an email sent to you. We also really liked the mobile version. It's a very simplified version of what we see on the desktop application.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's less about disliking and more that there are a lot of components that we have not yet used.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We conduct a variety of big and small projects so it's easy to lose details. Asana helps keep things straight.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Test it out with a group of people over a couple of weeks with a few projects and task list. Just reviewing it won't tell you everything.

Outstanding collaborative task and project management

  • March 15, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana gets it. It's clear that they use the tool to operate their company. Above all, they listen to customers' needs and have built new features that add further value.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish their were wider adoption. There are some people who don't understand or like Asana, because they don't learn to use it properly. It's hard to keep things moving when you have to work with people who won't use a system.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Asana to keep track of work requests (new and revised documents), to plan and implement projects, and I use it to keep tasks out of my brain, so I can focus on one thing at a time. A huge benefit is the ability to collaborate across an organization.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take the time to use Asana's homemade training and onboarding tools. They teach you how to actively use the tool in a way that you're not just "wasting" time learning.
