Asana is a great task tracking and team collaboration tool
What do you like best about the product?
How quickly and easily you can get a team up and running on the platform. One of the best features of Asana is also how easy it is to add new tasks with just couple of keyboard shortcuts. Asana is also constantly improving and innovating their product. Their site is extremely reliable with an impeccable uptime.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't much to dislike about Asana. The UX is extremely customizable and you can definitely tweak the way things operate to work best for you or your team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were looking for an easy way to collaborate and share tasks among various teams on various projects simultaneously while being able to get a quick overview on how projects were progressing.

What do you like best about the product?
Asana has some great features, but what I like the most about it is how easy it is to use. The software provides several different ways to organize information. And, if you realize that you should organize it a different way, one can easily change the format or reorder tasks. If someone leaves a team, it is not difficult to search for all of their tasks and reassign them in the interim. For me, it works best to have all your information in one place, and this tool makes it easy to do so.
I even created a workspace for my personal use so I can keep track of bills, my graduate program deadlines, etc.

What do you dislike about the product?
My least favorite part about Asana is the app. I love that I can take the app on the go, but I find it is not as easy to use as the desktop version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My organization uses Asana for project management. Now that we have the tool, we have become much more efficient in tracking the status of a project, assigning tasks to individuals, maintaining deadlines, and tracking how long it takes to complete a project. It is especially helpful for long-term projects or future projects because we can add information or files that we need, but don't need right now.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana is great for keeping many people on the same page, but ideal for smaller teams. I imagine a more robust system would be necessary for an enterprise. Additionally, it works for creative project management, but the features are not build specifically to mock-up documents so it might not be the best fit for a creative team only.
Asana is good - but not amazing
What do you like best about the product?
I like that each person has their own "to-do" list type thing. It is great to be able to view items on that list, and then click into it and see the individual steps. When I used this program as a digital marketer it was great to be able to list every small step a task may take to complete, and then show your manager your progress as you tick off each one.
What do you dislike about the product?
The way the company I was working for had it set up was that only managers were able to check off tasks, and if I mistakenly checked off a task it went away and I couldn't bring it back. This may have been our workplace set up, which I would not recommend. Its nice when you can still see the task but it has been identified as completed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana was good because there were a lot of employees and this was a good way to manage people's daily duties. We could come in for the day and see that our managers had given us new tasks, and had ordered them in priority order.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
See if you can get a demo from Asana, the product has a lot to offer but is tricky to learn everything alone. They will walk you through the finer details and really help you get the most out of Asana.
If your life is disorganized, well...organize it with Asana, you dummy.
What do you like best about the product?
Asana has an insanely flexible workflow depending on how your attention is allocated. If you need long-term deadlines, immediate fixes, or need to completely change how you view your tasks, Asana can do it for you.
What do you dislike about the product?
The ability to mass assign dates is difficult. As a person that does many small tasks regularly, I need to set deadlines for myself immediately.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organization. Organization. Organization. It has helped so greatly to organize folks and put the onus of responsibility on them.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Spend some time seriously getting to know this product. It's an incredibly powerful organizer that can help you, but you need to know all the features so it can keep you and your team accountable.
Amazing product for work management - just wish I knew all the shortcuts and capabilities better!
What do you like best about the product?
ability to organize team projects and delegate tasks while being able to track progress in real time
What do you dislike about the product?
Do not like the lefthand side menu, makes it hard to see all projects if you have a long list. Wish there was a better way to view things at a glance
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cross team marketing campaign building. Managing bandwidth and progress on tasks for team members. Communicating cross team across offices
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take advantage of all the shortcuts! And advance settings. Asana is like excel, very worth investing in training up front to get a good understanding of everything you can do - will save you much more time later on!
5 Stars isn't enough for Asana
What do you like best about the product?
I like the fact that Asana encourages you to try before you buy, and in that trial it's robust enough to add value to any organization. They show you what the basic package can do and it's impressive, so when they roll out updates or opportunities to upgrade I am more likely to go with a product that I know works!
What do you dislike about the product?
That the free option is 5 users honestly most marketing teams are 6 or more, and for a small business just bumping it up the 1 person to use the free trail to evaluate the software would make all the difference.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This is an essential tool to implement not only in a marketing environment (where you need to have clarity at an given moment on multiple projects/deliverables) but also it's a great way to train employees to be managers.
Typically we roll this out to new managers to teach them how to set clear goals and communicate effectively with their direct reports, however we have not started using this with under performing managers and seeing great success

best tool out there for small businesses- if you dodn't all ready have a project managment tool you NEED to get this.
Asana couldn't replace Inbox, but has definitely reduced it to a minimum
What do you like best about the product?
Asana listens to feedback, and keeps on improving. They keep adding new features that make project management even simpler. Yet, the tool has not bloated itself up to a level that the learning curve to use it becomes too steep. It has all the features you need, and none that make it clunky.
What do you dislike about the product?
Permanently keeping it open on the browser just slows down chrome to no end. If you don't keep it open, you have to rely on email notifications to keep track of notifications - which goes against their mission - say no to emails. A desktop app or a light weight notification plugin would have been great. There are some chrome plugins available, but none are user friendly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We track everything on Asana. Projects, daily tasks, wishlists, minutes of meeting - everything that needs to be recorded or tracked or shared.
It just helps everyone stay updated, and collaborate effortlessly.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Any tool is as good or bad, as the effort you put in, in understanding its features and adapting it for your business. I've known people who have hated Asana, because they weren't using it in way that it could add real value. Asana is made in a way that leaves a lot to interpretation of how it should be used. At our firm, we changed the structure thrice before we were satisfied, and then it worked wonders for us.
My recommendation is to look around some of the suggested implementations by Asana team, play with the tool for a week, and give some thought on how your business can make the most of it. You would love the tool then.

A functional tool for project management and collaboration
What do you like best about the product?
I can build out my tasks to mirror my statements of work and it is easy to manage
What do you dislike about the product?
Reports can only be done at the project level - not the task/subtask level.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Utilizing the tool to manage ourselves and our clients.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great tool to manage simple projects and collaborate
Asana Usabilty
What do you like best about the product?
I love the colors and regular updates that I receive via email. I also like how you can share and comment on files instead of using a long confusing email chain.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm not a fan of how the tasks disappear when they are completed. I mean the best part of writing a to-do list is crossing off the tasks and seeing how much you've accomplished!! I think it would be helpful to be able to share and see the completed tasks with colleagues and bosses.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I design content for 10-15 articles on a health and wellness site everyday. It helps to share files with all the different writers in one place. Feedback is received in a more organized fashion.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely take advantage of this product in your everyday life, not just work! I use it to remind myself of birthdays, shopping lists and tons of other random personal tasks.
Asana helps you stay on track
What do you like best about the product?
I like how you're able to make lists and check them off. You're able to add others into your group to view these lists, so you can make sure time is being used efficiently. I love the design, especially the narwhal and unicorn animations that create excitement when you finish a task.I love that I could use it on any device like the office computer, my personal laptop, and even on the go through their app.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I forget how to do things on Asana, so it can be a little confusing and takes some time to get accustomed to using all the features. Some features on the app do not work as well
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Staying organized and finishing tasks is made possible by Asana. Especially since my coworkers and I only meet in person 3 hours per day twice a week, it ensures the information we need from each other is communicated by asking for it. It helps develop a plan to complete the goal by having it laid out ahead of time before beginning the project.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great for staying on track and developing a plan ahead of time for the team or for yourself in completing a project successfully. You can use it on a desktop, laptop, and cell phone.
