Collaboration and Project Management tool
What do you like best about the product?
Well designed for team workflows and task management. Fast and responsive, and extremely easy to learn. Great dashboard provides high-level overview of tasks history. You can assign people to tasks and set deadlines, and the app sends out email reminders to the task owners on a regular basis.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's no desktop app.
There are so many capabilities, and it can sometimes be a little confusing in determining what will work best for me and my team.

Asana has greatly helped my team and I with our project task management. It's extremely dependable and takes a lot of the disorganization and confusion out of project management.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
My team and I use Asana in combination with Toggl for time tracking and reporting. This really helps maintain accountability and provides visibility as to where you should be more or less amount of time.

Great way to stay organized
What do you like best about the product?
I love being able to organize tasks and subtasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish my to do list would automatically sort by due date. I also wish there was a "I'm done, pending approval" option on each task instead of just checking something off and having it disappear. I don't like knowing I finished everything but still have things in my to do list that look overdue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have been able to stay better organized as an agency. I used to upload design proofs to Slack - they would then get lost as the conversation continued and I'd constantly have to hunt for things I needed. There would also be a lot of cross conversations. With Asana, everything has its own place so I don't have a hard time finding everything.
Simple and effective
What do you like best about the product?
I like that is self explanatory, there is no clutter, you know what to do at every screen, compared to Base camp this is 10 x better. User interface is also sweet and nicer, it has all needed information and not cluttered with every time stamp, too many icons and so on..
What do you dislike about the product?
Well not many things, sometimes I just find it it spams a lot with notifications, ( default ones, I never actually tried to adjust them ).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It eases out communication and being in the loop with the team. For example skype chats and group chats tend to loose information, with asana (or other similar software) important information is visible and it does't have much unnecessary trash chats.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are in doubt between basecamp and Asana, go with Asana!
Asana is the best!
What do you like best about the product?
I love the way Asana makes it easy for my team, my clients and myself to know what they need to do. Plus, it's great for braindumps and brainstorming, and makes it easy to organize my thoughts and ideas.
What do you dislike about the product?
The software can be slow to load and switch projects. I wish there was a downloadable, offline version that would work faster.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana keeps us organized and makes sure we don't miss deadlines. It lets us know who's responsible for what, and keeps a permanent log of our conversations with clients - no more digging through a thousand emails!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give it a try! It's so easy to get started - you'll know immediately if it's a fit for your businesses needs.
Asana UX
What do you like best about the product?
I like that this platform can act as a place where me and my teams can organize tasks and delegate work to each person in a balanced way. I also like that I can browse other teams within my company who are using the platform to get a sense of what other people are working on.
What do you dislike about the product?
The platform as a whole is pretty basic. I don't really like that I don't receive reminder notifications on upcoming projects that need to be completed. With the array of tools that can be used to help with productivity, it can be easy to forget about some.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My company just moved offices to a new location and this was a huge help to accomplish miscellaneous tasks with the move. Because a lot of the tasks fell outside of many employees' job description, this platform served as a good reminder of what each person would be contributing to.
A shared To Do list
What do you like best about the product?
The well defined division between workspaces, projects, tasks, subtasks. It doesn't suffer from the problem of "infinitely deep hierarchy in an outline format". It helped me focus.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a large application that consumes a lot of resources. Some features seem to require keyboard interaction.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed to coordinate work between people on a single goal, but the work itself wasn't that coupled. We didn't have the issue of a supervisor setting priorities for another worker. Our main issue was accountability to ourselves and each other. Asana worked inasmuch as it allowed us to see each others lists. We had different styles, however, and progress would appear different across different lists. Still, that wasn't too much of a problem, and it probably eased Asana adoption.
Also, the general idea of how to divide the work in to workspaces, projects, and tasks can vary. I think we went too quickly into using workspaces to divide our project up, and that resulted in less communication.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
I have also tried some other products, like Trello, and find Asana is a better fit for me. I'm primarily working solo, while Trello is intended for groups. I needed to comprehend a lot of information, and execute sometimes fairly complex tasks that broke down into many smaller tasks. Asana allowed me to take extensive notes, and share them, while keeping them organized.
The perfect project management tool
What do you like best about the product?
The interface- it's beautiful. Our entire team loves it and finds it a pleasure to use. We are constantly finding new ways to integrate Asana into our workday. It's invaluable to us.
What do you dislike about the product?
We found the premium version to be poor value for money. Sometimes Asana can be slow to load or to create tasks- which can hold us up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This stops us wasting time on group projects. The time saving benefits are massive. As is the benefit of being able to have a top level view of projects at any given time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Determine how you will use asana with your entire team from the beginning. Have all members of team in asana. Top-down implementation is key here.
Best Online Project Management Tool
What do you like best about the product?
I like the design of ASANA, the user interface is very neat, i was hoping to find bugs or errors navigating the dashboard but none, it is perfectly done. I have used ASANA as a collaboration tool for my programming team, really great to see things prioritized properly and projects being done on timely manner.
What do you dislike about the product?
When there are many task the dashboard it has some clutter, i dislike it but I can live with it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a blockchain project on which we add more features, We realized that we are getting things done to document and further review the work flow and task.

Collaboration and Project Management Made Efficient
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite aspect of Asana is the ability it gives my team to stay aware of what everyone is working on across multiple clients and projects, as well as helping us all stay on track with progress on individual tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish we were able to create folders with shared information without setting tasks that need to be completed. It is useful to have a shared area to keep documents and resources, but not all of these fall into tasks that can be checked off, as some are ongoing or weekly projects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are an agency based in a small physical office but with freelance staff located across the United States. Asana gives us the ability to communicate easily with staff members that are not always physically present at the same time and location as we are without sending complicated chains of e-mails that easily get lost or unintentionally ignored.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Regardless of what size your team is, this software is valuable at helping you assign tasks and complete them. If you have staff you manage projects for, Asana will notify them with new assignments, and gives you the ability to see when they have finished them, as well as prompt them with deadlines. It's really worth checking out if you struggle to keep track of everything you are working on and collaborating on with others,
Robust but easy to use task and project management
What do you like best about the product?
Asana makes it really easy to get and stay organized. Just start typing and you can create tasks. Grouping tasks into projects is a really simple way to keep everything organized and if you have some cross-cutting concerns, you can use tags to easily identify what things go together across projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only complaint I have is that there's no nesting hierarchy for tasks in a single view. Within your project you can just see the tasks assigned to that project and if any tasks have sub-tasks, you have to examine each task to see what they are. I really miss the simple indented hierarchy from Google Tasks, but this minor oversight isn't nearly enough to stop me from saying that Asana is the best task management app I've ever used.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used to all manage individual task lists, this made it really difficult to see what other people were working on and you could only assign something to someone else by directly telling them. Once we started using Asana everything is in one place and we can easily see what others have on their plate and you can assign something to them quickly and you can be sure it's on their radar. This has really helped enforce our Getting Things Done attitude and you can stop worrying that things will fall through the cracks.
