Best task management tool out there

  • May 15, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Clean user interface; view a simple linear list of all your tasks and sort by importance, due date, or customize it to whatever you want.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing really - it's a great tool all around and I can't think of anything I dislike.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping track of all the tasks I have to complete. Asana helps segment these tasks by project so it's easy to manage everything.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You should definitely at least TRY the free version. I think Asana's super clean UI and user friendliness separates them from the pack. My marketing team would not be able to function without Asana!

  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Gorgeous design, tight integration with Google G Suite, easy sharing, quality reporting and a mobile client with great Material Design elements fantastic discovery.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much, I've tried many project/task management systems and Asana was the first to really hit all the right notes for me.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Task distribution and follow up, project tracking and comment tracking. User uptake has been excellent, far better usage stats than we had with Trello.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Embrace the minimalism, the app isn't as busy as many project/task managers are busy to the point of cluttered.

Good platform for collaborating...

  • May 10, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of access and ability to share project work in real time with both internal and external individuals.
What do you dislike about the product?
I feel that Scrum/agile boards on this platform are still in its infancy and could definitely benefit from being ramped up to bring it in line with the likes of pivotal board with the additional burn down and velocity capabilities.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ease of end users raising enquiries be they internal users or external agencies.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a well rounded platform but it does feel like it's punching above its weight in certain areas.

Lots of great features

  • May 10, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love being able to break down projects into several tasks and then assigning them to different people. There is a recurring feature that is very useful for repetitive office tasks like filing or submitting reports.
What do you dislike about the product?
The design can feel a bit clunky sometimes. I wish it automatically setup emails that let each team member know where each person is in the current project.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We each have very different and varying schedules. Having Asana helps us stay organized even if we don't see each other for a week. It keeps each of us informed about what still needs to be done in a project.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Creating a check-in area or a dashboard that outlines progress.

Great Productivity Tool for Teams

  • May 10, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like how this can be used to organize and prioritze upcoming projects for our team. We can set due dates for tasks, write notes about it, and assign it to a specific team member. It keeps every team member accountable for their task(s) and makes it easier to split up department projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
We use it in a few departments, and sometimes tasks can pile up and things can be hard to find.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Communication within and throughout departments have increased. We have been more organized and lines have been established on who does what tasks.

Pleasing, updated interface

  • May 10, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the layout. I used Asana before the redesign and didn't particularly like it based on colours and clunkiness - it felt clumsy to use. Now, with a cleaner and sleeker UI, information is easier to read and access.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the email notification structure - when you get a lot at once, it's sometimes difficult to make sense of until you click through to the task. It might just be my email client, though.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Asana at my workplace to manage & delegate tasks with multiple stakeholders/assignees. The benefit we've realized is that it helps communication & keeps everyone on board - that's if the tasks are updated/commented on in time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana is feature filled and robust - if you have a smaller team, maybe consider a simpler product but for bigger companies & teams, this works great!

What do you like best about the product?
My husband and I can see every task we've recorded n addition to assigning those tasks to a certain person at a particular time. Takes the stress off us to remember everything.
What do you dislike about the product?
Well, nothing really. The dislike is more with myself for forgetting to do what Asana tells me to do! :)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Time and task management, communication between partners

Asana... the fun way to manage your tasks

  • May 09, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like asana because it is incredibly user friendly. It did not take long for me to learn the ins and outs of the program. The program is also very fun. They add features like magical unicorns when a entire task is completed, which of course, makes the team more excited about completing something.
What do you dislike about the product?
I really did not dislike anything. The only thing I didn't like at times was how slow it was to copy tasks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Management of tasks among a team. Our marketing team was spread out and everyone had their skill. Therefore, this was helpful is allowing each member to see when their specific section of the task needed to be completed.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a great tool if people need to collaborate to get something finished. You can also use it individually if you have a job with many small tasks.

My Asana experience

  • May 09, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the user interface the most. It was always easy to use and I could find ways to customize my experience along with my staff's experience very quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that they would add start dates and I wish that they would add other more advanced project management features into the product, even if it is an optional set of features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have used Asana for multiple different types of projects at work. I have used it for general team management uses as well as delivering technology development projects. In all of the cases, I was able to use the software to fulfill the requirements that I had for the effort.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for a flexible project management software that can meet many different needs, has a mobile app and can integrate with lots of other services for a low cost than Asana may just be the right tool for your team.

Good Project Management Tool for Small Teams

  • May 09, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana allows our team to easily manage various workflows and projects for repeatable tasks. It is easy to use and very easy to explain to new team members. The integration with Google drive is helpful for us, as we can link to our file repository without creating added confusion.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be helpful, for the dynamics of our team, for Asana to have the ability to send our reminder emails for tasks to be completed not only to the owner of the task but also to a delegate (or manager in some cases).

It would also be helpful if Asana were able to automatically populate due-dates for subtasks based on when a project is supposed to be completed. For instance, if we are looking to update a web page on June 1, it would be helpful if the due date for final website content was automatically populated two weeks before that. It would eliminate much of the manual, clerical work that is needed to properly maintain Asana for our team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use the tool to manage website development, graphics support, and various other marketing activities that can be templatized and are relatively cookie-cutter.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana is very easy to use and get started with, and there is almost no downside to trialing a free version of Asana. I'd recomend that to new users so that they are familiar with how the platform works.
