Awesome Experience for Project Management

  • May 25, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the ability to quickly and easily see the tasks that I need to accomplish for my clients.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was an easier way to integrate my different clients' projects and tasks onto one page.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am a VA so I save my clients time and essentially money because they are focused on the tasks that drive their businesses forward.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I want to have all my client projects on one page, or on my own portal if possible.

Effective Project Management Software

  • May 23, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to create projects and tasks, assign to individuals and keep everyone up-to-date on progress. Asana sends you email reminders and updates on tasks that you're following and notifies you of overdue tasks. This program helps keep teams on track with project deadlines while keeping everyone in the loop with progress.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not a great integration with external calendars. Have had problems in the past with syncing Asana task deadlines to Microsoft Outlook calendar. Also lacks capability to assign multiple individuals the same task. Has functions similar to email messaging but lacks integration to completely eliminate need for email
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana provides the ability for teams to keep track of what projects and tasks all team members are working on at the time. Supervisors can use this tool to monitor workloads and progress on projects so deadlines are met in a timely manner. This is a way to keep tasks organized so nothing gets lost or forgotten. Asana also sends email reminders regarding tasks with pending due dates or tasks that are overdue. Asana has been very helpful in making our team more efficient.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Not the easiest to use at first. You can only assign a task to one individual at a time. Calendar integrations are not flawless.

What do you like best about the product?
Recommended for engineers & project managers alike! Our team uses Asana for projects because of it's ease of use, ability to organize by projects, tags, & labels, and the easy navigational tools like search.
What do you dislike about the product?
- Asana is not as visually appealing as Basecamp
- Users cannot preview attachments
- Platform does not use the concept of sprints well
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Functional Project Management
- Organization of project tasks
- Ability to account for who is responsible for each tasks
- Easy updates on project progress
Recommendations to others considering the product:
- Use the trial version to see how your team likes the interface
- Project Managers should set up and manage the projects but allow all users to set up tasks
- Tasks should be updated regularly

Absolutely necessary tool for internal time management and project organization

  • May 23, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is an essential tool in my arsenal for project management - I find the ability to separate tasks out into "projects" as the most valuable aspect of Asana. Having multiple assignments can be overwhelming and burdensome but the ability to separate into "projects" and the ability to have multiple tasks assigned to each "project" allows me to think in smaller chunks and accomplish more overall.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were more obvious reminders for overdue tasks. I currently have several overdue tasks that fall into the background and off my radar- a stronger "overdue" notification would benefit me and keep me on target (especially for daily or weekly tasks).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Asana to manage both longer and shorter term projects. I specifically use Asana to assign tasks between team members, manage projects, and set timelines/goals.

Good for task management, not so much for Projects

  • May 23, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The interface is very easy to use and adding/editing/updating tasks is very efficient. As a tool to organize your daily tasks it is very good. Adding / removing members to projects is easy and we like the fact that updates can be done directly from Outlook by replying to an email.
What do you dislike about the product?
We wanted to use Asana as a Project and Resource management tool, specifically for sharing organization calendars. This is not its strength. It is not easy to get a top down view of projects on the go for our senior management team. It's also not very customizable for how much information is included in Projects so we had to find creative ways to accomplish this, which adds complexity.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were trying to solve multiple problems, beginning with a centralized project management solution but also gaining visibility into a high level list of projects that are on the go at any given time using the calendar. While task management is great, we were not able to fully deploy it in the way we wanted to solve our problems.

Best Tool for Managing Your Workload

  • May 23, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Being able to plan my projects, repeat tasks, organize my client work, plan my weekly schedule, add clients + other freelancers and see everything I need to complete with one glance. I also like the new boards (similar to Trello) feature I use it to brainstorm blog post topics, set up my editorial calendar, plan my newsletter, and create my social media content calendar.
What do you dislike about the product?
I like the features included with the yearly price (the editorial calendar template, specifically), but it is a little high for one person or solopreneur to use for just her. I wish I could see repeated tasks listed instead of showing up after completion.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It keeps all my projects organized, client work and I even have calendars just for my blog posts and social media content. I don't have to use other tools and everything is in one place. I love that I can double check tasks or my schedule from my smartphone.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give it a try you will love it!

Great project management software for individuals and teams alike!

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is especially fantastic for keeping all of my multiple projects and businesses organized and in line. My favorite thing about Asana is that I can add my various partners and team members to specific projects or lists and assign tasks to people other than myself. It's great for organizing teamwork and making sure everyone is on track in my team.
What do you dislike about the product?
There really isn't much that I don't like about Asana, honestly. I sometimes wish that the calendar was a bit more interactive/easy to navigate, but I can't complain about anything.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Since I run multiple businesses and constantly have multiple projects within each business going on, it's imperative that I have things organized and written down, otherwise things easily get forgotten. With Asana, not only do I have all of my projects nicely organized and all of my tasks written out so that I can see them, but I can assign them to various team members with due dates and any important file uploads or passwords/details and know that everything will get done.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need to get more organized in your business or have team members that you need to keep on track with tasks and deadlines, I highly recommend using Asana to take care of your business organization needs! You can upload documents and files which is phenomenal in helping to keep everything that you need for your business tasks all in one place!

What do you dislike about the product?

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As mentioned above, it sponsors personal growth in terms of organization and task management, as well as cross-team collaboration and transparency.

Great for a Remote Team

  • May 18, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love that Asana's streamlines project management for my team that works remotely. It's easy to assign tasks, view the team's calendar, and keep all of our thoughts about different projects in one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the calendar feature is a little difficult to edit, but we've discovered work-arounds so it does not present much of a problem for us.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana provides a platform for collaboration, scheduling, task management and delegation that makes it easy for my remote team to work together. Nothing falls through the cracks when everything is clearly visible on the calendar and in list mode. Asana helps my team remain organized because you can create specific projects and then all assignments and conversations can be filed under that project.

I have a weird obsession with Asana

  • May 16, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It sounds silly, but I appreciate how pretty it is. It keeps me wanting to use it. It's the perfect medium between Trello (too simplistic) and Jira (too complex).
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish I could share the same task between different teams.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organization. Using Asana, I can easily keep tabs on large projects and make sure everyone is on track. Fewer things slip through the cracks when my team uses Asana.
