Game Changing!

What do you like best about the product?
We started using Asana in 2014 in a small area of our business to better manage client implementations. We now use Asana across our entire company. The app allows anyone in the business to have visibility into any of the key objectives of the business. We love it!
What do you dislike about the product?
I have no dislikes about the software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Asana for overall company-wide task management, project management, & SDLC. The accountability, transparency, and visibility into our business are bar none.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend starting in a small area within the business, then grow across the company with a pre-defined plan to ensure success.

Love it!

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is very intuitive and user-friendly. It was a great way to pull together multiple workstreams and to ensure everyone on the team was on the same page and moving towards the same goals. It really increased the transparency of where deliverables are. It was also really easy for the team to access either with their computer or the mobile app. It also sent reminders to encourage team members to stay on track and meet their deadlines. I also love how visual the software is.
What do you dislike about the product?
It was a little bit challenging to get to the screen with the overall project/deadline calendar. It has improved over time, but it took a while to get the overall workstream information to integrate for the project manager. The Gaant chart function was a little difficult to use at first as well, but has also improved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had too many workstreams that needed to be pulled together. Teams were operating independently, and this gave more transparency in to deliverables and progress. It helped a new project manager (jumping in during the middle of a project) to really have a visual of the project.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take some time to test Asana out and make sure it is right for you. This helped us with tracking progress and communicating. If you are looking for a software that is more focused on increasing communication, I would check out other options as this has more features that could get in the way.

Intuitive and Clean Platform for Project Management

  • March 21, 2017

What do you like best about the product?
The teams I work on are remote, with teammates all over the world. Asana allows us to stay on the same page in terms of timelines, goals, and deadlines, and keeps things simple!
What do you dislike about the product?
When you mark an activity as done, it disappears. If you ask a question and it gets answered, it also disappears. Kind of frustrating.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With projects that have many moving parts, its a clean way to keep us organized and remind us when tasks are due. Also, it's a great tool for meeting agendas when you are working on a skype or phone call.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Easy to use! Definitely give it a try.

    Design

I use Asana for project planning.

What do you like best about the product?
It helps me remember everything in all of my projects and allows me to break projects down into reasonable chunks. I also like that it is cloud based so I can have access to it anywhere.
What do you dislike about the product?
Logging details of projects can be a bit tricky and I don't like the calendar user experience. I wish the calendar were more flexible/would mesh with my other tools better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Communicating to team members what actionable steps are available to them.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for a cloud based project planner, this would be great for you.

Excellent and very useful free version

What do you like best about the product?
Very intuitive to use and offers enough customization to make things helpful for many different types of industries. Ability to share with team and have private lists is a helpful tool as well. Overall, a very useful and productive PM tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can sometimes get a little confusing as to which projects are in which person's list when the overall list is shared with the team. I always would like a desktop app instead of a web page as well. Makes it easier to keep open all day.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are in a non profit in which our warehouse needs to sync up with the office on many types of projects. This has helped us very much.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely give it a shot.

Collaboration Sweet

  • March 17, 2017

What do you like best about the product?
Simple interface that any user can learn in minutes. A growing set of tools but without complexity. Does not try to be a Swiss Army knife-does what it does very well no more no less. Although the feature set extends far beyond most of the use cases for which we deployed--that is not a reflection on the product as much as a recognition that we have other tools that were better suited for those tasks. However, had we not had those tools already in place we certainly would have used Asana to meet these needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing really. Does not handle MS Word docs very gracefully if you cut and paste, but it is a very minor nit to pick.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use for many small group project collaborations. Recently to keep a steering committee on point during a 7 month business process re-factoring and instantiating an enterprise CRM. We also use this to coordinate an editorial calendar, manage a program pipeline and ensure alignment around various project objectives and tasks.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do not hesitate--great value and immediate benefits

So far so good!

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is very easy to use. It has a great tutorial system to guide new users through the features and benefits and offers tips along the way to get the most out of the program.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were a way, or an easier way, to have a calendar on all teams. Meaning, I'd like to schedule things in a team-wide calendar so my team could see when people are out of the office, busy, etc. so I don't schedule due dates for people when they're out of the office.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before, I was unable to find a free solution for scheduling tasks and projects to an individual. It is also great that if I want just one person to see a task, they can, without the entire team seeing all the information.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I manage a very small team. It is very easy for me to track and schedule everything using Asana because the amount of people I manage is so small. I'm not sure if this experience is different for a company of a larger size, but I think it is a great tool at a very reasonable or even free if you want to move your company towards using and getting used to using a PM tool. I also think this works for a team that has an administrator, such as a project manager. Not for a team that wants to collaborate together.

Asana a state of art project management tool

  • March 16, 2017

What do you like best about the product?
Worked for a start up company that had 10 employees, we used Asana as it was free up to 15 users. It proved to be a wonderful, project, task management software. We were able to allot tasks, follow up, follow through, and had an internal chats to make it more efficient. We used it for campaigns, meetings. Time tracker was the best feature
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing that was irksome, if already someone created a team attached to your domain, probably left the organisation, it was tough to create another. You have to get admin access for the old account.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were a renewable energy company worked on multiple projects, that had multiple engineers, designers, admin people, project managers. We wanted everyone on a single plane to connect and work. The communication gap was something that got fixed beautifully.

Asana has helped our team IMMENSELY

What do you like best about the product?
Things I like best about Asana: It;s user-friendly, intuitive, effective for task management cross-functionally, fun extras, and the software is scalable. Also love that Asana can integrate with TimeCamp (our internal time-tracking and billing system).
What do you dislike about the product?
On very rare occasions the site will be down and we won't be able to do any work until the issue is resolved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Asana to help me manage multiple client accounts with multiple projects per client. The asana task structure helps streamline projects, keep everything organized, and has integrations with other software that we use on a daily basis (dropbox & timecamp)
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana is flexible and intuitive. The product is well designed for managing team workflows and task-management. We had the free version, but moved to the paid version a few months ago. Asana has almost replaced the team's need for internal email and google chat.

    Non-Profit Organization Management

Collaborative Team Work

  • March 15, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
How easy it is for teams to collaborate, as well as the number of different projects that can be created for individual teams. It was great to be able to write notes and have specific individuals track an overall project and the different tasks to complete that project. Very nice way of keeping an entire team responsible for their work.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would have been great to incorporate more organization like color coding (more colors) and how things were displayed as a group versus individual. Giving individual users autonomy to organize as they see fit is nice, but sometimes changes that were made for organizational purposes would have been more helpful for the entire team instead of individually. Allowing the main user to make changes to everyone's structure/organization for certain things would have been helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This is primarily used to keep a team organized and on top of projects that have multiple people working on it at once. That way when on step is completed the team knows to move forward with the next step.
