It was difficult to train up my team to use. I felt it was intuitive though.
What do you like best about the product?
I loved that it had the ability to track events and notes related to events. I liked that it had everything all in one manageable place, but wish that it could have been synced up to my Microsoft Outlook and various other platforms such as Microsoft Word - would have made it much easier for me.
What do you dislike about the product?
How difficult it was to convince my team that it was worthwhile integrating into workflow. Many of the people I work with are older, so they refused to attempt to integrate into their existing workflow. I wish that there was a training video or some easy way of communicating the value and how to integrate for my team members that were hesitant to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Working in a highly-matrixed organization with project-based work groups. Many of our team members are on other projects that makes it difficult to keep track of them and our different competing priorities. The benefits realized were efficiencies.

Great for small teams -- almost.
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is pretty. It's sleek, easy to use, and easy to integrate. I introduced my team to it when we transitioned from an antiquated project management system, and we adapted fairly quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
I really dislike the random quirks within Asana, like the fact that the team calendar view disappears when you reach 100 projects. My marketing team is very small, and we still reached 100 projects in a little more than 6 months. When I contacted Asana help, the only solution they could provide was that I should create a dummy team and move my old and archived projects to that team.
Many of the most useful features are only available on the premium plan, which my nonprofit organization had not budgeted for this year.
The mobile app is just ok -- not being able to use the calendar view really limits the usability for me as a project manager keeping tracking of the whole team's tasks.

My team is more focused on results and hitting deadlines, and is able to instantly see visual results when things are done. We've streamlined project management because of Asana. We also love the flying icons when checking tasks off!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
In my opinion, Asana will not work for large teams. The calendar function will become clunky and clogged, and tasks will get lost.. You'd need to segment out your teams for Asana to be functional.
I LOVE LISTS
What do you like best about the product?
I like that both I and my supervisor can use Asana to make collaborative and individual lists. It is very helpful for me personally to have a list of tasks for the week, month, term and ASANA makes it super simple for me to update, edit, and complete tasks.
I also like that you can make edits on the mobile app quickly and seamlessly. It is also great that you can link it directly to your email - for us it makes it easy to share and add other co-workers to projects.

What do you dislike about the product?
I really like Asana and honestly have no dislikes. It is very well suited for my current needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tasks lists being clear. It is beneficial to place deadlines and reminders on tasks to be completed. Also, just the simple organizing of tasks under specific projects and allowing for their to be multiple things going on at once without them getting confused.
It is also helpful if multiple co-workers are trying to tackle the same project, so you can assign tasks & update notes and questions right on Asana to see where everyone's progress is.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
You should use Asana daily! It is super user-friendly and so easy to plan out projects and tasks both for the daily and monthly goals. As someone who has always liked lists, Asana is a must!
Organize your workload
What do you like best about the product?
Asana allows you to track and manage multiple projects with different stakeholders. You or others can email tasks/requests to your Asana account and have it directed to a specific project. While you cannot bulk-add tasks, you can tag and add metadata to them in bulk, which is great. The calendar view can be color-coded based on projects and tags, so you can assign priorities or visual cues to what you're doing in a day.
What do you dislike about the product?
You cannot add tasks in bulk. Project reporting/dashboards are not very comprehensive, and you cannot drill down. What they term as "projects" -- I prefer to use them as departments and tasks within those departments then become projects, but you cannot drill down the reporting to the task-level.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Juggling multiple projects with conflicting priorities and different stakeholders. Asana lets you organize these projects with user-friendly interface. Email options allow you to create tasks from anywhere.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana has flexible interface that fit different personalities. I prefer to use the calendar view to organize deadlines, but it also has a list view for people who prefer that kind of display.

Good Project Management Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is fairly easy to use. It is great that Asana also sends out e-mail reminders to team members when they have a deadline.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a lot of work on the front end, putting in all the information and due dates and attaching team members. When my team was using it for marketing, it seemed quite cumbersome for our administrative task. Unfortunately, when a computer program sent reminders out, it became like white noise versus a person sending reminders out.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping everyone accountable is a huge deal especially in our promotional advertising. This helped eliminate our administrative staff sending out constant reminders for portions of projects due, because once everything was input, reminders were automatically sent out.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a good tool if your administrative staff gets on board with it. Your team truly has to be invested in it as a whole, not just part of them.
We all LOVE Asana
What do you like best about the product?
Design and User Experience are incredible! It has all of the features you'd expect from a project management software you'd hope for and it looks beautiful and is easy for onboarding new users. Can't say enough about how much I like Asana.
What do you dislike about the product?
Number one complaint is load times. I keep Asana up at all times and it would be nice if it didn't disconnect frequently. And it will often load projects and tasks slowly which gets really annoying.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing projects and everyone's tasks from multiple views (eg. each person and by project). It helps us coordinate and have a central repository for adding everything that needs to be done.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Once again, I can't recommend it enough. I hear other startups love it, my team loves it, I love it. Asana nailed a very difficult product and other than the sometimes slower load times I can't find a thing wrong with it. Which for someone who develops software is a very high bar.
Asana has revolutionized how our team works
What do you like best about the product?
Asana provides a system that allows our small team of 32 people to manage almost 200 separate projects, including short-term, medium-term and long-term projects. About a quarter of the team is remote, and we also share some projects with remote clients, making it possible for everyone to have full visibility into the priority tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, there's nothing to dislike about Asana. Perhaps the only deficiency I've found is that it would be nice if there were more features to track the number of different projects different team members are working on. But we've worked out a system to track this in a spreadsheet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have tech, content, design, client service and sales teams all managing client work together. Asana allows all teams to collaborate to deliver world class learning programs and services to our global clients. We simply could not do this without Asana.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Our own implementation of Asana was amateurish. There were some early adopters, and some laggards. If we were to wind back the clock we would have planned and executed our implementation much more effectively if we'd followed change management best practices.
My new favorite PM / Task management platform
What do you like best about the product?
Asana has a great mobile app, excellent integration with both Google Drive and Dropbox and an integration with Zapier that keeps getting updates. It's refreshing to see that they are constantly working on updates and improvement vs. some other PM / task management platforms that rarely push out updates, let alone bug fixes. The FREE plan with almost all the features of paid is a strong statement by Asana that they believe in the value of their product instead of forcing teams to commit before really having a chance to use it on a day to day basis.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't really have much that I dislike...
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Needed a flexible Project / Task Management platform that could integrate with a time tracking tool (we ended up going with Harvest, which is a recommended integration among other time tracking tools available for Asana). Having high quality mobile apps (not web apps) for both iOS and Android along with lots of integration options with 3rd party platforms sealed the deal!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's free for the first 15 users with basically all the features you could want.... Try it and see if it fits your workflow.
An easy to use, intuitive tool for a small charity board
What do you like best about the product?
As a small team working remotely, we are able to assign tasks for each other and see what each of us are working on.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to be able to see the list of completed tasks together either outstanding ones. It would help me to see the bigger picture.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a small fundraising executive board giving our time for an organisation for free, we need to make sure we are as efficient as we can possibly be. It helps us get tasks completed on time, understand what each of us gets up to and be a lot more efficient and effective than we would be without it!
