Easy to use
What do you like best about the product?
I LOVE the new feature to integrate with Slack. I use it all the time. The little characters that pop up as a reward randomly for finishing a task are fun.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were more creatures for what pops up when you complete a task. Also, it is not as "idiot-friendly" as I'd hoped.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps our team track who needs to do what on our projects in an organized manner.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is fairly easy to use, but not as easy as I'd hoped. It's solid product and easily integrates with Slack.
Good for PMs to check overall progress
What do you like best about the product?
I like being able to see others’ projects so that I know who’s working on what, when, and possibly with whom.
What do you dislike about the product?
I’m not a fan of the default view settings. Due dates should be able to be filtered right away, without having to change that view each time. I also think that clicking on a task shouldn’t mean that you automatically want to edit that task; just view more infor or sub tasks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaboration is always hard, so in Asana it’s much easier to view how many people are working on a single project/client. It’s also nice to add a specific document link so that the assignees know exactly where to put their work.
Useful if all on same page
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to break down tasks into components and assign them. Features for personal management alongside the holistic team picture. Cuts down on meetings and emails.
What do you dislike about the product?
Only works if everyone keeps up with it and breaks down tasks in similar ways.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy to understand where other team members are at and set priorities without email or in-person check ins.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Front load time to make sure you're set up well and comprehensively and that all team members are using the software in the same way. From there it's a great tool!
Great Task / Project Management Software
What do you like best about the product?
Asana helps all members of the team stay connected, on track, and on target. It also has a very nice integrated feature with Instagantt for those project managers that like to use Gantt charts to keep their team focused on common goals, identify critical path items, bottlenecks, and capacities.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was a better way to notify everyone of their tasks other than a push notification or an email. I'm not sure what the answer is, but the accountability still needs to be handled from without.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Prior to using, the team was disjointed and following shiny object syndrome. Now, we have a plan in place that everyone can follow. It also provides more transparency.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It will help with task management and some of the accountability, but overall project management and oversight will be up to the users and leaders in the organization.
1 man Asana team
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability to organize my thoughts and plans in a clear fashion.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were more options on how to visualize your tasks. Right now theres only the board view or list view.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using it as a project management organizer. The rest of my team doesn't use it, but I use it to track things on the back end and visualize and time out events.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I want more options on how to visualize tasks in Asana. Right now there's only the board view or list view. I would want something like a task tree where you can easily link and see how one tasks depends on 3 others and each of those on 3 other tasks, etc.
Asana keeps remote teams on-track
What do you like best about the product?
Calendar of tasks with color codes! Ability to create multiple projects and assign tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can’t think of anything I dislike about the product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We work with several contractors on the opposite coast, so Asana solves “after hours” communication
Great Project Mgmt Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Just the right level of complex features but simplicity
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing, the product is in a very sweet spot of complex features but ease of use. Don't add too much and over complicate it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Manage a team and projects and managing a software dwevelopment project.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Easy to try it out before committing
Asana is great to keep projects organized, but not that user-friendly in my experience
What do you like best about the product?
I like how you can create tasks and projects for certain teams. This is helpful for us since we can give our Product and Dev team deadlines and prioritize tasks. I am not a current user anymore since I am not the in the team that handles asana anymore, but that is what I really liked about it. It is still very useful for use as we now log tasks for our Product team to get detailed information about our product -- that way we can add it to our wiki.
What do you dislike about the product?
Looks good, but it is still not that user-friendly. Especially on comments. When I first started using it, it was a bit hard to locate where exactly I should place my comment. Another example is that I would get an email saying that a colleague commented on a task, so I logged in and could not easily find it. Like there's no notification whatsoever or easy link access.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keep our Product and Dev team organized with their projects/tasks
Recommendations to others considering the product:
great software, not sure if they have any competitors but I suggest looking to see what other options you have. Or request a trial first to see if it's easy to use for your users.
Asana has provided our team with an intuitive and hassle-free project management app
What do you like best about the product?
I like Asana's user-friendly interface the most. It doesn't require users to figure out how to get started and running.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have not yet encountered something I dislike in Asana.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We solve scheduling, prioritizing, and assigning of internal audit problems and improvements with Asana. We have increased our team collaboration.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend those who are considering Asana to get started right away and get immediate benefits
It's a great tool! It can be a more user friendly and intuitive though.
What do you like best about the product?
I like that once it is set up it can really help you visualize your timelines and get your team on the same page.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not the most intuitive tool ... so I've been stuck on some basic functions that are hidden or not in intuitive locations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Time management - its helping get the team on the same page and use our time better.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take advantage of their trial/free period and see if it meets your needs. Its a great offer and if you can make it work then upgrade!
