Asana has been well-suited to the needs of my company and improved the way I get things done

What do you like best about the product?
Every task, no matter how simple or complex, in the running of a business is itemized and documented; one person is responsible for each task, and the structuring of projects and pipelines and subtasks is flexible to suit most business needs. The layout is clean, navigation is simple, and everything updates in real time.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not well suited to very large organizations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Efficiently assigning people responsibilities and holding them accountable.

What do you like best about the product?
I love the calendar email reminder tool- it enables us to continue to be on track for our blogging goals!
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, I haven't found much that I've disliked. Maybe a bit more interconnectivity with my existing applications.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping freelancers and salaried employees on track for writing blog posts
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure that you really need to use the product before switching. We have a specific use for asana, but if you don't absolutely need a new tool, no use in switching.

    Information Technology and Services

Well designed and nimble for mid-complexity project management.

What do you like best about the product?
Calendar management, and syncing of tasks into outlook reminders. We use this in a pod-fashion, and it works well for cross pollination across delivery, product management, and data teams. I love their start-quips, as well!
What do you dislike about the product?
Inability to link outlook emails into tasks in Asana.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Coordination across three disparate, though connected in service, teams. Each team has a set of deadlines that is key for delivery of our technology to clients, this allows us to pass the tasks along to the right party at the right time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be nimble. We used to use Asana in one way, and just made a massive shift to a new way - using the product in the way that is recommend is key. For example, we used to use our internal team as Projects, and tasks as individual sub projects. We just switched to using projects the right way, and it really helped the productivity. I am a sub, sub user - in that I don't interact with Asana very much, however the interface is VERY easy, and the more you are in it, the more you can do with it - so don't let one experience/failed attempt scare you off.

What do you like best about the product?

What do you dislike about the product?
I'm not sure there is anything i dislike. My assistant preferred another software so I was bummed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am a lot more mentally organized being able to visually separate my projects

  • July 12, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana ahas been best for me to be able to view all projects, task, to do's in one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am still figuring out the best format in which to utilize it in the best way based on each project.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Client management has been a bit more manageable.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You will get the best out of using Asana if you take the time to plan the way you would utilize it best to your preferences

Very useful collaborative tool

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is a useful tool to track your own projects and quickly assign and track tasks for others.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a bit weird to have two "to-do" lists - your email and asana, but once it becomes part of your workflow it's simpler.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's really simple to delegate and understand reliant pieces of a project when using asana, which streamlines our workflows.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Must be used by a whole team, or it won't function as a useful part of your workflow.

Can't go wrong

What do you like best about the product?
I love the ability to create project specific teams. This allows us to assign employees, designers, and even clients to a specific project and not have them in others to keep things completely organized.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing we didn't really like about their current setup is that we have to remember to add individuals to each task for them to receive updates. The way we use Asana if you're in the project you need to be updated for each task. This is more of a usability thing on our end, rather than a dislike on Asana though.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We finally found the project management software for our team. The template feature has been a huge plus for our design agency since all of our designs utilize the same process, so we can pre-build templates and just load the template for each new project we receive. This ensures that we don't miss a step when setting up a new project.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take a careful look at your team size. They bill per user on the same domain name as your account. So each @yourdomain.com email address is considered a "user" in their system. You can, however, have unlimited guests, which are users not on your @yourdomain.com emails.

Asana Review

  • July 12, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana makes it easy to see all your projects in one place, and keep track of who should be working on what. You know that once you've placed your request or information in Asana, there is record of what you've asked for and when you asked for it. In the past when I've send in a project, it just kind of went out there and everything wasn't easy access. That has been a huge plus since switching to Asana, especially since I like to have everything laid out and clear when working on projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
Occasionally, it seems as though Asana is not checked as often as email, which can lead to frustration when a project is due, especially when you have to check in outside of Asana to make sure the people you're working with have actually when checking it. However, this is a problem with office practices, not with Asana itself.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Asana primarily for Marketing and Communications needs, which is very helpful when we have multiple projects active at the same time. Emails can easily get lost in the shuffle, whereas Asana keeps everything organized and easily accessible via the dashboard.

Very nice and intuitive platform to do agile tasking

  • July 12, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The setup of projects, contributors and tasks is trivial. The UI is also clear and I have had no problems getting to what I wanted out of this platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
For some reason, setting up my profile picture became disabled. That might be due to a fact of using a free version... not sure but I was able to do it initially and then my picture disappeared.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tasking and project progress tracking.
