Great platform for team communication and project management
What do you like best about the product?
For large projects, it is excellent to be able to assign tasks to individuals on the team, set due date, etc to ensure that your project will get done. It makes project management and delegation so much easier! It's also great to be able to check in on how a project is coming along and if you might need to change your deliverable dates.
What do you dislike about the product?
The text editing/writing experience is atrocious.
Writing task descriptions or comments is pretty horrible. It is a blank text box that DOES allow formatting, bulleting, etc, but there is no WYSIWYG editor interface or way to change formatting or remove formatting when you do a copy/paste. Additionally, don't use CTRL-Z or Command-Z to undo something! It will completely erase everything you wrote into the text box and it is next to impossible to get it back. I also find that Asana tends to crash, refresh or have an issue when I am writing something lengthy, so myself and the rest of our team has resorted to writing out lengthy task and project details into a google doc first, and then we will paste it into Asana (helps with the formatting issue too).

Geographically dispersed team is more efficient than ever!
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ease of use. Asana is great for teams with people at all levels of technology aptitude and this made things very easy to adopt.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was an integration with Google Calendar and I wish there was a way to define roles so that a VP or Manager who doesn't use Asana as much can log in and see what's on everyone's working on and status of things. Like a dashboard.. other than that I can't think of anything.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are a high paced marketing department with very tight deadlines and Asana helps everyone stay on track. It also helps us run SCRUM meetings with one place to see everything.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use a limited amount of projects rather than "everything is a project". It can get out of control.
easy project tool
What do you like best about the product?
having different projects to work on. also that many people know and work with asana.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like the way the iOs app works. Somehow it's too hard to make a task in it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We organize our business with asana. It helps us to keep track of all the projects.
Awesome project management tool!
What do you like best about the product?
I love that you can keep track of projects, tasks, who is charge of each task and task completion. It's also really easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
I currently haven't found anything I dislike.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organization! It's a way to really organize projects and keep track of deadlines.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I've tried a few project management tools including BaseCamp and Trello and this one is by far my favorite!
Just started scratching the surface of its usefulness & have moved all my projects to Asana
What do you like best about the product?
Asana offers a great way to organize yourself and to communicate with team members. I used to organize my planned projects in MS OneNote. I now keep my notes and process documentation to MS Office products but have moved my projects (both those for work and personal) entirely to Asana.
The user interface is visually pleasing and easy to navigate. The hierarchy is intuitive with a Team | Project | Tasks | Sub-tasks breakdown. You can move tasks between projects and/or assign them to team members. There are labels (“tags”) for an additional level of organization. You can store attachments. There are filters for viewing tasks.
Dashboards for a high-level view of project statuses are a standard in SaaS products and Asana includes them also. You can open a report in Google Sheets with the product and use it to create a custom report or visualization.
The mobile app is impressive. It seems to have full-functionality but I have not tested it extensively yet.

What do you dislike about the product?
I cannot think of any. The system was recommended to me by both a product manager and a brilliant engineer. They were right.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have a lot of moving pieces to keep track of and this is proving the perfect system to do so.
Best project management around
What do you like best about the product?
Flexibility and the intuiveness.
It's built with clean code no nonsense and you can feel with lots of love and understanding. Not only for planners and especially for creative knowledge workers

What do you dislike about the product?
No Gant chart - only as a 3rd partner solution. Doest do de actual work that I plan
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Design and event planning
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use is for all planning and collaborate on plannings together while intergrated with slack.
Great Collaborative Tool
What do you like best about the product?
There are several features that make this tool wonderful to use but my favorite has to be the structure and flexibility offered in its task management. You can request a colleague to perform certain tasks or invite others to participate. You can also comment on your accomplished tasks and provide an update to the entire team that is involved. Updates are automatically sent to one another.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana has certainly come a long way. I have used Asana since 2010 or 2011 and there may have been a few minor flaws then but I have not experienced any trouble in my recent use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana solves several problems: remote collaboration, clear instructions & expectations, and punctual updates. Asana has helped our remote teams work together. This tool allowed us to share needs & requests without being directly next to each other. With that said, the instructions must be thorough but that is dependent on the user. So what I meant by clear instructions was that managers can simply focus on providing work instructions rather than sending tickets on programs like confluences. It cuts the fat of a process and helps us dive straight into the work. The last portion is updates. With remote work, it's always good to have a synchronized system that continually informs teams about latest progress and Asana does just that.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's relatively easy to use. There are quite a few new elements that were not available in 2011 but it's not challenging to use. Just focus on what you need and there shouldn't be any trouble using the app.
Keeping Our Team on the Same Page
What do you like best about the product?
I like that you can assign tasks to other teammates, flexible search for finding specific tasks quickly and that tasks can be linked with specific projects,
What do you dislike about the product?
I miss the feature of a previous Task App of being able to connect a task to a specific client business or individual in that business... would act something like have Sub-Projects. It would make it much easier to know what's next on the task list for certain area's of a project
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana helps us ensure the next steps for each of our clients are kept on track and keeps all of our work team on the same page
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana is a welcomed system to help keep your team on the same page. I really appreciated that ability.
Excellent Project Management Online Tool
What do you like best about the product?
It's great for on the go project management. Sometimes i lose my paper to-do lists and then I feel lost. But when everything is in Asana I know that I can pull it up from anywhere.
What do you dislike about the product?
It was a little tricky to get started. It wasn't that user friendly for someone who isn't the most tech-savvy. It also took away from that "crossing things off my to do list" feeling. It's great for work projects, but I haven't switched to this in my personal life yet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to work on projects together and assign each other pieces of it from not working from our desks. It keeps the team on track with items that need to be addressed in a timely manner.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take the time to really sit down and learn about the way it works best for your team. It's worth it to spend 1-2 days only exploring this tool because it can really benefit you in the long run.
Simple project management and task assignment software
What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to see my upcoming tasks, and I receive emailed reminders and notifications when a task deadline is approaching or when I've been assigned a new task.
What do you dislike about the product?
Unlike Basecamp or Slack, you can't upload a document unless it's attached to as assigned task. This is not the place to store general team documents. I had a document I wanted to upload for a future task that wasn't fully fleshed out yet (i.e. not ready for assignment) but I couldn't do it in Asana.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work as a communications and research specialist for a small business owner. All my work is done virtually, and Asana is an easy place for me to view my tasks and ask quick questions.
