Effective Project Management Tool

  • September 19, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is a crucial tool for my team and me when it comes to task management. I love the ability to put the tasks we discuss somewhere in an organized place, map them out on a calendar, assign team members, specify due dates, and more. The layout is also very clean and straightforward and allows me to organize and complete tasks with ease.
What do you dislike about the product?
I've found the notifications to be a bit bothersome and have had trouble trying to reconfigure them. I would appreciate having more options in the notifcation center. I also find the "My Tasks" page to be overwhelming and wish there was a function to further organize the tasks that are assigned to me. As is, the list will easily become too long and it can be hard for me to organize in my head.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana has been a huge help for my team. This makes every aspect of executing our daily tasks easier, and in turn, makes us a more successful, efficient team. We use Asana exclusively as our project management tool.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would definitely recommend Asana if you are looking for a way to organize projects for your team, keep track of due dates, and map out strategy in advance. You can leave notes in tasks, assign team members, create sub-tasks, and more.

What do you like best about the product?
I've been using Asana for years and it really helps keep the team organized and always on the same page! It's very easy to tag people in comments or even just add them as a task follower so they can monitor a project.

It also updates in real-time so if other team members are working in the same task as you (either adding comments, updating the task or even adding attachment files) it's all visible in real-time by you when your in the same task as them.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it was easier, and more obvious to other users, to set your Asana account as 'Out of Office' when you are either Out of Office or possible on Vacation as well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The business problem that Asana solves it keeping everyone updated to a task, so the team can work more efficiently by not having to catch certain people up.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ask your Asana rep to give your team a live demo so everyone can see Asana in action.

Asana_ Good, not great

  • September 19, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Everything is in one place and in a linear fashion. This helps keep agendas on track and easy to follow along with the many tasks included in projects. You can also follow the conversations that go along with those tasks easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is very difficult to figure out how to add tasks and details to an already existing task. It is not intuitive where to click to see details about a task or a project.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Asana to keep a large group of people involved and informed on the various projects we are all working on at once. We also use it to set meeting agendas and prioritize tasks/projects.

Specially designed to keep track of your tasks

What do you like best about the product?
It is very easy to use, economical and very powerful. Each time they update it, expanding new features and integrations. It plans the projects and allows to establish priorities and deadlines, it also has an excellent follow-up control and allows to know how the work progresses and guides everything to the same objectives.
What do you dislike about the product?
You need custom calendars that can be linked to specific tasks. It lacks Gantt diagrams to be able to diagram the activities and be easy to understand among the collaborators. It has a great learning curve and therefore it is possible to get lost among the large number of features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is a powerful project management software based on the web and it is a huge advantage since we can access the progress of our projects from any device. In a company it is of vital importance and Asana is perfect. It allows configuring project managers and these in turn can create users as required. It is simply excellent.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It has a very simple and efficient user interface that facilitates the visualization of all jobs in one place.

What do you like best about the product?
I love that it's a one stop shop. It includes everything for organization, communication, and tracking - I can finish a project from start to finish with a team of people without needing to use anything outside of Asana.
What do you dislike about the product?
While it is simple, it is one more thing for people to log into and learn to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows for me to efficiently work with a team in a long-term, complex project. It is so much more efficient than keeping separate to-do lists and wondering what has been complete.

Asana for Creatives

  • September 18, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Above all, I love the ease at which I can see what my entire team is working on at any given time. It gives me the ability to look at the overall workflow and reassign / juggle what anyone is working on to better help the team work through all of our busy times. For personal use it is really great to be able to see what my timelines / week looks like so I can plan accordingly. Plus when you complete a task it gives you some cool graphics as a congrats, not super helpful, but fun non the less.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana has a lot of great features, but I do not love the navigation on the left portion of the site. IT makes it a little challenging to find what you need when you have a lot of different teams. However, you don't really need to use it if you are just trying to find one person or project, just use the search bar.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I now know where any project is at any given time. It has really given me a birds eye view of everything that is going on.

So good—and so free!

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I've been using Asana for over a year for both my business as a solopreneur and my personal tasks. I even use it with my interns. It's a terrific tool for project management, and everyone that I introduce it to can't believe it's free! I even heard a millionaire once mention that she and her small team use the free version. So, it works for a small startup like mine as well as some of the big guys. So easy to use and great options. I strongly prefer it over other tools like Trello and Basecamp.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it would remember how I like my tasks sorted for my board. And I wish my interns boards looked exactly like mine. Not sure why they don't. Those aren't a big deal at all, just picky things that I noticed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management for myself as well as managing interns. It's a super easy way to outline projects, tasks, and subtasks. And very easy to change due dates or details when needed. And I certainly love checking something off my list and seeing it disappear! :)
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give it a try! I love it, and have suggested it to many others!

Effective OKR with Learning Curve

  • September 18, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use along with necessary features you'd want with any project management tool. Calendar view, adding teams, separating projects, keeping people accountable, and so forth. It has many features without getting too cluttered at initial view.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be difficult at times to keep track of information. Their search isn't that user-friendly (at least for me) and nested threads is almost a sin.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping track of progress on projects as well as holding team members accountable for tasks. It's quick and easy to send somebody a task, setting a date, and following-up with any information on that task. It's almost like an extension/replacement for email.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Mainly recommended for teams. For an individual, it could be too many features in order to get any real benefit from it—you're better off with single-purpose task management apps. Having a team validates the price tag as well since you recoup that fast in the hours and progress you make with it.
