Team and Project Collaboration in a single tool
What do you like best about the product?
As far as a tool that can be used for many purposes, Asana might be king. It can function as a todo list, project tracking, a collaboration tool, a kanban board, and many other functions with the use of the different integrations available. For myself and my company, the kanban/todo functionality combined with the teams makes asana a great tool to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
With all the features that Asana has, it can be sometimes daunting to use them. One of the biggest things I dislike is the lack of flow or at least it has too much flexibility. Without identifying how Asana should be used first, it is difficult for the team to use it the same.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The most important problems that are being solved involve project tracking and team collaboration. The biggest benefits are that more people seem to be in the "know" and work is being tracked.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Have an idea on how the company or team as a whole should use asana before giving it to everyone. If you have to create guidelines and templates before giving access, do so. It makes product adoption difficult if only some people use it other people avoid it.

Good task manager
What do you like best about the product?
Learning curve is very small. Great UI with ease of use.
What do you dislike about the product?
A UI view where the status of tasks can be seen at once. May be it exists but I could not find it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing day to day tasks for teams.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You should define the process how all of members would use it.
If you plan well at the early phases Asana can help a lot.
For instance the naming of Projects should follow certain standards and users should have correct roles and permissions.

Quick to get going
What do you like best about the product?
I like how quick this software is to start using. You can set up projects easily and then invite team members to join. 10 minutes and you've got something to collaborate around.
What do you dislike about the product?
Cresting a nested task structure more than 3 levels is a bit unclear.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping track of progress. Sharing out work. Showing the team all the ideas we have for improving the business.
Organization at it's best
What do you like best about the product?
collaboration between team members and having personal (private) lists as well for task management
What do you dislike about the product?
sometimes too many emails. I'm sure I could figure out how to remove this but I'm not sure at the moment
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
organization and task management across multiple roles and responsibilities. Easy to assign due dates and create new tasks while managing projects as a whole.
A great organizational tool
What do you like best about the product?
The free version allows a small team to collaborate a lot easier than traditional email or Google drive. We love being able to get email updates, @mention and see everything the team is working on in one spot. The post-it note style boards as well as task lists are super helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much really. I only use the free version, so I am not paying for anything but overall I am very pleased.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were having communication issues and overlapping work as well as troubles sharing files among the team. This has helped our one designer keep track of due dates and projects so we're able to deliver faster.
Great for Collaborative Project Management
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite part of Asana is the My Tasks section. I like how it allows me to see all tasks for me, when they are due, and I can access the project from each one.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not like the mobile app. It is difficult to use and it does not have what I would like.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana helped us consolidate all of our open projects into one solution.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana is great for collaborative project management.
It helps me stay on task, but I tend to forget to check it. I'd recommend better reminders.
What do you like best about the product?
I love the interface and how easy it is to assign and complete your own task.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm not exactly sure where to find content that will help me figure out how Projects might work. I recently had a project assigned to me by someone who left the organization. Since they created the project, there is no way for me to leave it or any content for me to read on how to leave it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management task and making sure everyone involved in the project know what they need to complete so that we can accomplish our goals together. We all have individual goals that complete a bigger picture and asana has helped make that easier.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The only recommendation I can think of is maybe some more knowledge based articles or even make it just easier to find so that I can help myself rather than reach out to customer support.
Solid and easy to use Project Management tool with no cost
What do you like best about the product?
Have used the free version with several organizations and everyone is always very happy with how easy the tool is to learn and use. It does a good job of tracking tasks, allowing for sharing of files and sending emails when appropriate.
What do you dislike about the product?
Have seen some limitations with the free version which I believe do not exist in the paid version. At one point tried to sync it with TFS and I believe hit a speed bump there as well but may also be tied to using the free version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our IT department uses TFS but several departments that work closely with IT had a need for a Project Management tool that was easy to learn and low cost but still offered what was needed for them to better manage the projects and become more efficient. Asana allowed all of that to happen
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great product and can meet many needs for little or no cost
Great small team management platform
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Asana gives me the ability to add detailed information to each task so we can give the task a smaller and easier to read name, but not lose anything in translation. I also like that we can all comment on tasks, which makes seeing the status of the task and keeping track of what you did last on the task easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike how unintuitive adding a category of tasks is on the dashboard. The button to add a category does not appear until you hover over the new task button, which is very easy for some users to miss.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using this platform to manage a big project with a small number of people. It has helped us keep track of all tasks that are out, see where everyone is with it, and prevent any overlap in work.
One of the best project management tools out there
What do you like best about the product?
Using Asana for many years and on multiple projects in various organizations (and personal), I can really recommend Asana as project management tool. It's not your all- in-one tool, but the simplicity makes the technology disappear so that you can focus on the work. If you need some more functionality, the integrations with other services work great.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the limited feature-set is concerning, because you have to pay another company again for more features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All project management and remote working team management.
