Asana Collaboration

  • June 28, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is a great collaboration tool that is easy to access across multiple platforms.
What do you dislike about the product?
There hasn't been much that i've disliked. loggin in takes a moment or two, but other than that it's been pretty problem free.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Working with clients and business partners across state lines and tracking what parts of the project one is working on vs. the other. It is a great tool to see at a glance if someone has been able to complete a task or not, or if there are questions that have come up.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
For quick itemized lists to track work specific items, Asana is a great tool. It works across multiple platforms so anyone can access their profile from pretty much anywhere and on anything.

Good Experience with Asasna

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to check what other team members are working on and collaborate
What do you dislike about the product?
the user-friendliness - you should be able to click on the calendar and create a task... not have to go through different levels of tasks and add dates/times... it is way too time consuming and difficult than what i should be.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Team-Productivity
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use a different platform

The best Task Management Tool

  • June 28, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The collaboration, the simplicity, the accuracy, the simplicity EVERYTHING! It's a very intuitive tool, great to build projects and to measure your team!
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing at all! I'm using the free version and it's more than enough.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organising the team has been a game changing
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I have the free version but my team is a small team, so it's more than enough for us, but if you are looking for more insights and you have a bigger team you will need to pay for the full version I guess.

Asana - Great for teams

  • June 27, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We love using Asana to track our tasks across teams and to manage information related to those tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's paid tier is too expensive for our team, but we've been able to make due at the free level.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We primarily use Asana to track our upcoming events; it's helpful to have all of that information centralized in one place.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana is very easy to learn and onboard; should be a smooth transition for anyone looking to add this to their toolset.

Great for Workplace tasks

What do you like best about the product?
We just got Asana working with Okta. So now signing in is easy with its SSO capabilities. It also is great for creating team based checklists. It allows multiple people to add their contributions and puts their name next to it.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a slight learning curve with trying to navigate and see completed tasks. I would not say it takes more than a 20-30 minute poking around session to feel comfortable with it though.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use to for goals and tasks in the workplace. It does very well with this, it also allows us to have followers who may not be in the IT field to check in on the status of the task.

Affordable and Powerful Project Management

  • June 27, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Multiple platforms, pricing, project management capabilities. I particularly like the ability to create different Projects and teams. The ability to customize by color coding the projects is also nice. Overall it's a beautiful platform and user friendly, if you're starting out with the free platform, implementation is quite easy, but will be challenging once you start apply complex work flows.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the work flow or checklist setup bothers me, for example take a single task, with multiple sub tasks. If all the sub tasks are complete, it should automatically OR alert the user to either approve the completion of the task as a whole. My team and I often forget to check the "section" as complete, it's an extra step that is really not necessary. Additionally a quicker option to assign a task and it's sub task to one team member would be great. Versus having to manually assign each task to the member one by one.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Task management, project management, and tracking task creation and turnover time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
My main complaint as been described in the "issues" box. Another issue I run into will be responding to comments/task via e-mail. For some reason the response doesn't record in the ASANA app, if this isn't a feature that's available, it should state "respond to this e-mail". I get the response via e-mail but it doesn't record it in the platform. That defeats the purpose of trying to minimize if not eliminate e-mail usage between team members.

The free version of Asana is pretty amazing!

What do you like best about the product?
You can setup items either in a list or as sticky notes that appear on a board, whichever way you work best. There can be sub tasks of tasks under projects. All items can be shared.
What do you dislike about the product?
Can't change between sticky notes or list view within a project. Once you commit you are in it for the duration.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Communication with clients. Better organization of tasks and projects.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try Asana first when figuring out if this will work for you. It works most proficiently with those with a team but sole users can benefit from it as well. Give yourself at least a month of using it regularly before you decide it is not a fit.

It gets the job done most of the time

  • June 25, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana has very clean layout and allows for great project management. I really liked the UI and felt once in a project it was great to navigate and understand. Interacting with our marketing team was great when using Asana. It allowed them to streamline their projects from start to finish.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana felt very niche and not able to encompass many of our company use cases. It was great for the marketing department and only marketing. If communications and projects are addressed immediately its fantastic but if any slip through the cracks they feel lost. Asana felt very limited and navigating projects was super frustrating. Product management in Asana was a horror show.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana was brought in to manage tasks and it did a great job handling certain task but a miserable job at handling the majority of the. We quickly realized it was a wonderful product for very linear projects but not for our company where projects encountered high levels of nuance.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Find a way to test the solution for your company first. Make sure you have the "right" projects for the tool. It's great if the fit is perfect and abysmal if off kilter.
