Great for Task Management
What do you like best about the product?
The level of granularity that you can dive into is fantastic. The ability to create subtasks from primary tasks is the best that I've seen for organizations that follow very specific processes.
What do you dislike about the product?
We tried to use it for Kanban style project management. Asana has adjusted to allow for this style of visualization. The issue is that it's not in the core functionality for the platform. If we used another style of project management other than Kanban, then Asana would be our choice. Ultimately, we had to use a combination of Pipedrive and Trello to execute here.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management and task assignment.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's ok for Kanban. It's great for everything else, especially any type of task-based tracking.

Asana Review
What do you like best about the product?
I love how asana is easy to use. It organizes your tasks. I enjoyed how it allowed you to organize tasks based on type. I also enjoyed how it allowed you to fill in the total time you worked on a project. This made it very easy for my boss to record my time and pay me accordingly.
What do you dislike about the product?
I disliked how plain the format of the app was. It didn't allow you to create your own font size for example. This might not be good for those who have trouble with their vision.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This was basically used for my boss to verify the time I worked on projects and the projects I got done. This allowed for easy bookkeeping.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Yes, I found it easy to use and very efficient.
Clean. Simple. Organization for Chaos.
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is such a great tool to help you organize your tasks (personal and work). It has the ability to easily add team members for collaboration, organize your tasks by list or calendar view, and even upload files relevant to the projects you're working on!
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't anything I dislike with Asana.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving for organization by using this tool. On a team level, and an individual level we can now have tons more visibility into all the moving parts.
New to product
What do you like best about the product?
I like that all the information can be in one place and I can create my own projects
What do you dislike about the product?
I am too new to the program to tell you what I am not excited about.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I love that all the information can be shared with the team and we are all able to view questions and notes even if we were not apart of the conversation. Projects are streamlined and anyone can jump in and move the process forward.
Aesthetically beautiful project management
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate that the program is simplistic and beautiful in design. It is a mostly user-friendly program that allows colleagues to work together towards completion of projects, even though they may not be in the same location.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although it is lovely to look at and simplistically designed, it took me quite awhile to get used to and understand the interface. It good just be that when I was added to the team I was already enlisted in several Asana teams, meaning I had quite a few tabs and projects listed, but it was overwhelming at first.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our leadership and equity team is able to organize our initiatives, projects and progress towards meeting our goals. Projects can be assigned to individuals or groups, who receive notifications reminding them of their due dates for completion.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a great place to organize work projects and initiatives and keep everyone on the same page.
Quick & User-Friendly Project Management
What do you like best about the product?
Asana makes communication between team members virtually effortless. I like that you can @ different users in something like a comment or subtask. Overall, Asana has boiled project management down to its simplest form. I've used (and currently use) other project management tools. Asana is, by far, the simplest and most streamlined one I've come across.
What do you dislike about the product?
Files aren't displayed prominently enough within the tasks. I find myself sifting through sub tasks and former comments more than I'd like to. This can be a hassle for any team, but especially ones that use a lot of graphics and imagery in their projects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our customers need physical proof of their purchase as fast as possible. We use Asana to communicate with our fulfillment partners, ensuring that customers receive their proof of purchase in a timely, consistent manner. As far as benefits I've realized? I'd say the satisfaction of finishing a task, clicking check and watching it vanish into the shiny blue ether.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you've got the budget and you're looking for extremely easy and user-friendly project management software, Asana could be a good choice. The only caveat - if your projects involve lots of imagery and graphics, there are better tools out there. Files can get easily lost in the shuffle if you don't pay close attention. Otherwise, it's ridiculously easy to create tasks, manage workflows and coordinate with your team, whether they're in the building or across the country -- with Asana.
Simple Collaboration & Updates
What do you like best about the product?
The best part of Asana is the convenient comments and updates on projects and tasks. My team often leaves updates on a project after recent progress, feedback from a business partner, or new challenges that have recently come to light. When we review projects together, we have the whole history of updates - great for 1-on-1 meetings or teams discussions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana is meant to keep things simple - I get it. However, I wish the attachments functionality was a little more robust, including being able to easily see and access attachments from the detail screen of a task. In addition, sub-tasks are somewhat "out of sight, out of mind" which doesn't help when managing more complex projects. Again, it's meant to be simple, but a little more functionality in those two areas would go a long way.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project status and connectedness - I manage two small teams and work on my own projects as well. That means I'm not as connected to my teammates as I'd like to be. When jumping from one team to the other, it helps to have a simple way to see everything that is going on with the other team. I like the freedom to manage my projects however I wish to organize them. Asana helps me stay connected, updated, and all in a way that works for me.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I compared 12-15 small teams solutions before sticking with Asana. I suggest you trial more than one product to compare. Do it for just two projects and only briefly. Asana makes it easy to trial because they allow free use without contracts, etc., for multiple teams up to 15 members each. You might even end up using Asana for free for a long time. You can always pay for more features later.
Good task management system
What do you like best about the product?
Can build out tasks and all deliverables so everyone can follow a project, or part of project. Good reminders.
What do you dislike about the product?
sometimes gets a bit messy with file drafts going back and forth with uploads - need to make sure looking at correct version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solving lack of communication within different department teams. Again everyone can be on the same page about their deliverables on a project and see how the timeline will affect other items in the project.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great project management system. Make sure have clear guidelines when uploading documents into the system so can ensure everyone is looking at the same thing. Also to consider all files on there, make sure you take down and save for posterity use as well.
The calendar function is great when you need to look at a quick snapshot of everything left for a project. It would be great if you could do a multi-calendar function, such as look at numerous projects on one calendar.

Good for teams
What do you like best about the product?
It's been a great tool for our mostly remote-working team to keep track of ongoing projects with multiple moving parts over the last year.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be a little tough to make a part of your routine if you're used to keeping your to-do and task lists somewhere else.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Remote working on projects is easier because we can all keep track of the moving pieces.
Asana makes remote collaboration so much better
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is one of those few products that has acheived every rung of the User Experience ladder. Not only does it have a feature for all my needs, but its delightful user interface makes it a pleasure to use. It really is the easiest way for teams to track their work—and get results.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's hard to think of something I don't like about Asana. At first I didn't like that only one person could be assigned to a task, as many tasks are assigned to multiple people, but when I researched why this was, I found that it was based on Steve Job's philosophy of one person holding the ultimate accountability. After that, I liked that feature.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana is wonderful for remote collaboration. Sadly, Skype and other video chat features still aren't as great as we thought they would be. We still aren't holograms sitting in a virtual conference room, so being on the same page can be tricky. Asana makes collaboration easy and keeps everyone on the same page. Best of all, it works with apps like Slack.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give Asana a chance. I think this company is definitely headed in the right direction. It was started by two employees at Facebook as an internal tool and therefore they really understand workflows and UX. It's also beautifully designed, which makes it especially enjoyable.
