What do you like best about the product?
After using a variety of PM tools, Asana is the ONLY tool that integrates capabilities like file storage (drive, box, dropbox), time tracking (harvest), and gant charts (instagant) into one easy to use tool. Projects are easily drilled down into smaller tasks using sub tasks and conversations kept in line.
What do you dislike about the product?
No ability to assign multiple users to a task, dependencies don't push out due dates of top level task.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping conversations out of email creates total transparency within a team. It's comforting that if I'm ever on PTO or OOO, my team doesn't miss a beat because I've kept all my resources easily accessible.

use the available integrations to your advantage

Very easy to use when assigning tasks to team members or even for yourself to stay on track.

Wish you could assign tasks to more than one person or assign a follow to a subtask

The way that Asana allows you to group your lists, conversations, per project I have found to be so much easier to manage than a product like Trello
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that you can't cut and paste an image into the conversation and instead have to upload it. Allowing us to drop a screen capture in would be a great enhancement

As a consultant working with different companies and projects this allows me and the customer to see what is being done and I can more easily organize conversations than I can in email

If you are looking for a free tool that integrates with Slack this is it. You won't regret it. I really love how you can keep your conversations under the project. It makes it so easy to manage thoughts and back and forth.

I love using Asana to communicate with clients and team members regarding projects. I use it the most to give my assistant projects + tasks and keep her on track with goals

I dislike the app, the app is a little clunky to use and my clients have complained about using it too.

Communicating with team members and clients. It keep my virtual assistant on track and me on track with my clients goals and tasks!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The app is a little clunky and has a high learning curve for new users. A lot of my clients won't use it and will only use the website. If it had better UX/UI design with the app, I would use it more.

This is a great task software because it allows you to connect up with multiple customers and if your a sub -contractor allows you to permit customers to have access to certain tasks as well.

The usability is sometimes difficult to understand

Asana allows users to choose between views and easily share current projects with teammates.

The system can be a bit bulky to navigate around, but nothing to deter usage.

Very fast on boarding. Can copy a project to teach a new person all the general stuff.

It fits our needs very well. I can't really think of anything I dislike.

We use Asana for pretty much everything. We plan projects on it, we plan meetings on it and we review client requests / bugs using Asana.
