Making sense out of PTSA/volunteer projects
What do you like best about the product?
How easily project plans look official, when I'm working with a team of volunteers and don't know their comfort level in project management/participation, it helps me get a clear idea and then I can decide if I want to use this or something else.
What do you dislike about the product?
Wish there were more clear task dependency options.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Streamlining simple plans that otherwise lead to debate. When I propose something new and hand it over in an easily understood format/link it makes my volunteering MUCH simpler.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Depending on the complexity and flow of a project, I use Asana or Trello. Asana shows what needs to be done in a timeline format, which for some people is the only way that makes sense. Trello though can be so satisfying if you use it in a agile task management kind of format....so it all depends on how you/your clients/team prefer to work!

Keeps everyone on the same page
What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is to check the calendar and see the tasks project members are working on and their progress with those tasks
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be nice to be able to keep some task breakdowns private or easily be able to mark certain tasks on the task list private, or to allow subtasks with the same option
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We may work on 1-3 teams at any given time, so it's nice for everyone to see their project team's snapshot at any given time
Easy Project Management Tool
What do you like best about the product?
I love that Asana has so many features that allow you custom organize each of your projects differently, depending on what your needs are. Sometimes you need subtasks, sometimes you need high level groups and there is a lot of flexibility. I also like that you can share files easily with other team members and add comments.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish Asana had a view that allowed you to see everyones projects and their upcoming deadlines, kind of like the calendar view but I would like to see it in more of a list view.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This helps me organize many projects at the same time and track my progress. This also helps me set goals and keep team members on track by assigning deadlines.
Asana is my daily go to cloud software for project and task management
What do you like best about the product?
Asana has a great, minimalistic UI. Also, all the features I need, plus it's free.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't anything I dislike. Great job!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana is my go-to cloud software for effective project and task management. I never forget a task plus all deliverables can be attached, so everything is in one place.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana is an amazing tool.
Experience of using ASANA at work
What do you like best about the product?
Great to collaborate with a big team. Does a great job at the organization and plugging into other services that get used.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Asana does claim that using the communication tool will eliminate the need for email, using the free version didn't exactly do that. I wound up getting a separate email notification every time a pilot study team member left a comment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Time-saving, reduced anxiety.Still in my infancy actually utilizing Asana. I'm all about integrations: asana and I have created a machine that simplifies processes, increases efficiency, a more proactive system so that I can provide the best customer service to my clients.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ease of use, features, support, and extensive API make this an absolute dream to work with. We've tried many project management platforms over the years and nothing comes close to Asana.
Good personal and team process management tool
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability to manage tasks and assign them to different people. I was looking for a process/task management tool that felt less clinical than other platforms, and several of my friends recommended Asana to me for its user-friendly interface and the ability to construct lists as checklists or as boards (with columns and moveable task cards). I like the graphic design and the functionality.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the ability to shift a board to a list and vice versa. There have been a couple of times when I have created a list in one format and wanted to change it, so I have to re-create it entirely.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Asana to manage complex, multi-step tasks and the completion rate/process over time. The benefits of this are knowing exactly where I am in each task that's on my workload.
Great way for a multi department to share info
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is a great way for large companies with many departments to communicate and complete task.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a learning curve on how to use the program.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Projects were not getting done in a timely manner. With Asana people are held accountable for their deadlines.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Better lay out recommendation
Helpful for Managing Complex Projects Requiring Collaborative Workflow
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability to create simple or complex task structures depending on the nature of the task, and the template functionality makes it easy to perform repeat tasks. For example, our marketing team has different templates for executing on a webinar, releasing a blog post, etc - whenever one of these projects come up we always use our template as our starting point.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you have a lot of people creating different campaigns and tasks you definitely need to be careful about version control and consistency in how projects/tasks/sub-tasks are set up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I rely on Asana to help coordinate complicated marketing campaigns that have a lot of moving pieces and require collaboration and coordinated execution. This is especially helpful for us as a department that relies on several remote workers.
It helps remind me to do tasks
What do you like best about the product?
1. Email and alert reminders; 2; Ability to keep a running commentary on each project
What do you dislike about the product?
Ramp-up time long, still not sure if it's being used right.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Global team now communicates and saves files via projects on Asana
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Going to take some organization to get the right set-up, but then seems to work for managing projects and collaboration
Asana is a great tool which has allowed me to take on and manage an increasing number of projects.
What do you like best about the product?
I like how simple it is and how you can assign sub-tasks to other members of your team. I also like how there is the list version and the board option. I use the board for my higher level projects and the list for topics to cover at weekly meetings. It allows the entire team to add things to the agenda easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like how you can't plot out sub-tasks on-to a calendar to see what sub-tasks for higher level tasks need to be accomplished this week.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am able to take on an increasing number of product roll-outs due to the ease of use of Asana.
