Asana is a great tool to organize and project manage

  • October 10, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
My favorite part of Asana is the ability to apply multiple tags to each projects and tasks. There are a lot of cross team collaboration and cross-functional initiatives, this makes it easy for each team and function to maintain their own roadmap, while having these collaborative projects on all of their roadmaps. I also like that the text fields can support bullet points and indentations. (although the shortcuts were not stated explicitly).
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not very easy to move or tasks within a section under a project. Also some bulk editing capability would be nice (i.e., bulk tag, or bulk move). I also think user education could be better in terms of the text box editing features (e.g., bullet points or numbering points).

Also I wonder if there is opportunity to support even more text editing features (crossing out, coloring), as well as hosting inline images.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management with complex team structures and a lot of cross collaboration initiatives. Also to document all of the initiatives and projects that we've done in the past, including the date at each projects are budgeted for, completed, and any other status updates or description changes.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana is easy to use once you get a hang of it, and it is very powerful in documenting and organizing your projects and tasks. It can also be easily customized for certain fields to show, and colors of tags for better visual presentation of attributes of tasks. However with the large degree of customization, it may come across as a bit confusing to get a handle of initially. But be patient, it's worth it.

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of finding the tasks you are working on. It's easy to communicate with other teams/partners to solve necessary projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be nice to have color coordination and better organization skills.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating projects with team. It is great that you can get a completion time estimate. Sets a realistic expectation on progress and allows accurate expectations for clients
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Having more tools for organization and send out emails to users for demos on how to use the product better.

The most organized I've ever been in my life!

What do you like best about the product?
I love how Asana allows me to divide projects into tasks. It really helps me to keep every detail in mind while communicating with all of the team members involved.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are no features that I dislike, but I do think that the platform takes some time to get used to - for example, it's hard to remember that if I don't tag my supervisor in a task, she won't see my comments and know that the task was completed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana has definitely helped us solve organization issues regarding the flow of projects and also brings transparency into our team's workload. Before, each individual team member as well as our manager would get emails asking for a certain project to be completed and only those who got the email knew about the project. We were tied to our inboxes for insight on what the day would be bring and we were unable to divide the workload evenly amongst everyone because we all had different requests from different people. With Asana, all project requests come to one place where we can all see them, assign them to someone, add due dates, and monitor progress.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana can definitely bring organization to your life - especially if you're managing projects for a team of 5 or more.

What do you like best about the product?
I loved the ability for subtasks, but overall it was more confusing than similar softwares I have used, such as Trello.
What do you dislike about the product?
I didn't like the style. Was not pleasing to the eye and felt like WORK.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It was very useful for keeping our to-do list in one area.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Look around to make sure that it is the easiest to use for your needs.

One of the best application i used to keep looking after my 6 employees

What do you like best about the product?
It's very easy to use, and never make bug even on low internet quality. In my team at work, we have differents jobs: designer, developers, manager, social marketer ... all them can use Asana very well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana has some weakness with tasks duration. We pay employees by time . There is no way in this application to know when someone begin working and how much (percent) from the job has been done.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are small web company.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
As I said , ineed to calculate time (by days or hours ) in each time for each of my employees. May be this is not the purpuse of Asana but for me it will give me a lot of confort.

Nice interface but I prefer Trello

  • October 10, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The user interface is spot on! Nothing to say about the UI/UX, it's slick, it's efficient and it's a blast to explore.
What do you dislike about the product?
It felt a bit too specific for me. I'll rather use Trello and set up a more complete workflow that match my needs but that's just my personal opinion.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Task managment. It was very easy to create tasks, issues and etc as they came up in my head.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If what you need is a todo list with a slick look and a few more features go for it! it's quite a cool application. The iOS app is really easy to use as well.

What do you like best about the product?
It is good for assigning tasks and projects especially projects with multiple tasks within a category.
What do you dislike about the product?
People tend to forget about it if they don't use it every day. Reminders and better deadline tracking would be nice.

Best of Cost and Ease of Use

  • October 09, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is terrific for pumping ideas out and swiftly organizing them into their needed structures and delivery chains. It's also quite easy to get feedback and have targeted conversations about specific points and keep them going. Quick ease of use is the main benefit as Asana will make it very seamless to use day to day for a huge variety of projects and conversations.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Asana has been adding a lot of new features that were extremely critical to being able to custom label and organize content, it hasn't been very quick to release these updates features, meaning a while of finding workarounds to some commonly needed views and desired labeling.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using Asana has solved the issues of organizing contractors and being able to have a shared, but easily controlled space for working on specific projects. Thanks to Asana we stopped using emails to organize projects and can now do them entirely within the Asana ecosystem.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Project Management software really does depend on some core things like how your team communicates. If your team is collaborative and likes solving problems and getting work done, Asana is one of the easiest and most attractive places to do that. If you have a lot of trouble onboarding people onto a shared space and find they don't or wont' keep track of updates and comments, or are looking to treat the software like a file storage and organization environment, then you might not be able to take full advantage of what Asana can offer.

Mixed feelings about Asana

  • October 07, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that Asana is free, but I also like that it's possible to tag people and other tasks as well as go 'deep' in terms of the level of the tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
Date and calendar options for setting deadlines
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management and keeping virtual team members abreast and seeing their progress.
