Asana: Flexible and Visual, but Steep Learning Curve and Pricey Upgrades

  • October 15, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about Asana is how visual and flexible it is. I love that I can switch between a simple list, a Kanban board, or even a timeline view for the same project. It lets everyone work the way they want without messing things up.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana can be a bit much when you're just starting out. There are so many features that it's easy for new users to get lost and for projects to become a total mess if you don't set some ground rules. My biggest gripe is that some of the most useful features, like good reporting tools, are locked behind the pricey business plans. It feels like you hit a paywall pretty quickly once your team starts to grow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest problem Asana solves is keeping us organized and giving everyone a clear view of what the whole team is working on. Before, tasks would get dropped, and nobody really knew who was responsible for what. Now, everything has a place, an owner, and a deadline, which has been a game-changer for just getting organized. The best part is having a single place to see all the team's tasks. It helps us balance workloads and makes it super easy to see the progress on our big projects without having to constantly ask for updates. We're spending way less time figuring out who's doing what and more time actually getting stuff done.

Great tool for Cross-Team Communication, Needs More Templates and Integrations

  • October 15, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
This tool is excellent for enabling multiple stakeholders to communicate effectively about business requirements and needs like Product Managers, Product Owners, Customer Success teams and Engineering Managers. It also allows for tracking progress in a holistic manner for all side of the equation.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be helpful if there were more templates for progress tracking, as this would allow the tool to better accommodate various types of visions. Additionally, having an integration with Slack or JIRA would be a valuable improvement, making it easier to connect engineering tickets directly with customer projects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana is helping my teams better visualize our customers' needs and the associated deadlines for completing them. With a comprehensive view of all customer requirements, we are also able to update customers directly as soon as we complete certain tickets and asking additional questions if we need clarifications on certain points.

With few bumps, Asana is great for my small non-profit team.

  • October 07, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is fairly intuitive to implement on a basic level, and it's easy to scale the space to our team size (We use the basic business package so it doesn't include portfolios, but since we're a small team we can get similar use out of teams and using asana projects to hold multiple smaller projects).
I've also worked with the Asana help desk a few times - although I wish you could directly speak with someone either on the phone or via chat on their website instead of opening a ticket, the tickets have always been responded to within about 24 hours and the staff are super knowledgeable and helpful.
Finally, the Asana Forum is a BIG help in finding answers to questions or workarounds to functionality pieces that aren't officially available.
What do you dislike about the product?
My team recently moved from being a fiscally sponsored program to having our own email addresses; unfortunately in Asana that meant creating a brand new space and individually migrating projects which did take some time and troubleshooting. In this same transition we moved from integrating Asana with MS Office to Google Workspace, and (for us) the integration isn't quite as intuitive or helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana is our central space for tracking, discussing, and assigning work. It keeps key information all together and ensures that items/to-do's/assignments don't get lost because they live as tasks with reminders. It's also very helpful to search for completed tasks/projects and review the history of a piece of work.

Asana as a Project Manager in Branding

  • October 07, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love how Asana brings clarity to chaos. It makes it so much easier to keep everyone on the same page, celebrate progress, and spot roadblocks early. Plus, it’s intuitive enough that even non-techy teammates can jump right in — which is huge for collaboration.
What do you dislike about the product?
My only real challenge with Asana is that it can get cluttered fast if everyone isn’t using it the same way. When the team is aligned on process, it’s magic — but it definitely takes intentional setup and maintenance to keep everything feeling clear and manageable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana helps our team stay organized and aligned across multiple clients and projects. It gives everyone visibility into priorities, deadlines, and responsibilities — which cuts down on back-and-forth communication and helps us focus on actually doing the work instead of tracking it down. It’s made collaboration smoother, accountability stronger, and project delivery more consistent.

The best team productivity app

  • October 05, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is the most user friendly project management app. With its clean and attractive interface, it makes time management feel effortless. It offers flexibility through lists and calendars that allows teams to customise their workflows. Collaboration is smooth with features that let users assign tasks and leave comments.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although it is rich in features it can be overwhelming for new users unfamiliar to the app. If not properly managed, the constant notifications and tasks update can become distracting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It brings all the tasks, projects and conversations into one easy-to-navigate platform, making collaboration seamless.

Simplifies Task Management, Needs Mobile App Improvement

  • October 02, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love how Asana centralizes all tasks, making everything super organized and clear for managing both my tasks and those of others. It’s fantastic how easy it was to set up initially, with professional help that facilitated a smooth start. I’m super happy with having everything in one place, which greatly enhances productivity.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the mobile app underwhelming, which has been problematic in the past as I was never able to use it effectively on mobile.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Asana to keep everything scheduled and clear, consolidating tasks in one place. It simplifies managing my own tasks and coordinating others', improving workflow and productivity.
