Yup, this is making a positive impact
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is proving to pull a variety of functions that were spread out among email, Slack and other functions. It is pulling the functions together into one place and making the day to day work of my team much more coordinated.
What do you dislike about the product?
My only complaint is learning curve on using the tool. My team has been using Asana for about 4 months and we are still learning a lot about the product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This has been key to my teams coordinated functions and work flows. I am finding that I can better manage and coordinate work with this tool.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You team has to commit to using this tool - don't assume it's easy so everyone will just jump on board - commitment matters.
A Great Collaboration Project Management Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Asana lets you build a full picture of your tasks and by adding some in-house rules like making sure those tasks MUST fall under a target project it ensures all those tasks are on point, focused and will help move the needle.
If I find myself working on a set of tasks that do not fall under a target project, I can throw them into a hidden "drawing board" project to review and refine later when we're investigating new ideas.

What do you dislike about the product?
Asana offers a lot of powerful tools of which one is the different views you can use to organise your projects. Asana doesn't currently support switching between board view and list view which is a shame as people work best in different ways. This has a knock on effect; if you create a project and add tasks but realise the project would suit the view you didn't choose, you need to recreate the entire board including all the tasks you already created. This has happened to me a few times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are a multi-faceted organisation with many parts making up the whole. We work on key projects aimed at improving our services and these projects often span several departments. Asana helps us by looping in relevant people on projects whilst maintaining the department structure.
Asana also provides full visibility on what people are working on, so you can monitor pace and offer help if things slow down anywhere.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend setting up internal conventions that people must adhere to and create templates for task requests. The danger with using these kinds of tools is how easy it is to create tasks but forget the assignee has no context/knowledge of that task.
The most flexible project management software
What do you like best about the product?
Asana was the first PM software that I've used. But, after researching and getting to know other tools I abandoned Asana. At that time Asana was good, but not great. Since them I used Trello, Redbooth, Wrike and other tools. Then, in 2016, I decided to give Asana another chance. And I was surprised to see that there were many new functions and A LOT of improvement in the basic features. Nowadays, I think Asana is the best, most complete and most flexible PM software that I've ever used.
What do you dislike about the product?
Its time to put more formatting options for the description and comments areas (Markdown would be great). For newcommers and people that are not used to work with PMs, the interface may be a little overwhelming when compared with other PMs softwares.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management, tasks organization and prioritization, team communication and time tracking trough Everhour (integration)
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I think Asana is the best option for "task first" mindsets. The features that it gives the user for breaking tasks in smaller tasks and prioritizing your work, as you get it done, are the very core of this system. For project overviews and complex tasks workflows, maybe other tools are a better fit.
User Friendly Day 1
What do you like best about the product?
This is a great software for inter-departmental projects, where multiple people play a stake in ensuring the project is completed. It allows you to collaborate easily without all the back and forth emails, ensures that uploads are all in one spot for everyone to see latest versions, and even lets you tag someone in a comments section for tasks if you have questions.
What do you dislike about the product?
The reminder feature is not a robust as other programs I've used. It will send you an email, but I don't see a way for it to give me mobile reminders, or for it to give me pop up reminders while I'm on the site itself. I also don't like that it takes a lot of steps to schedule a recurring task. Once you check off a recurring task, it immediately shows the next one on your to-do list, even if it's months away.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're in the process of throwing our first ever live/silent auction, with multiple departments involved. This allows us to collaborate and touch base on the live auction, silent auction, our marketing, advtertising, sponsorship team, the decorations committee, etc. all in one place. It is a clear "snapshot" of what needs to be done, and you can assign sub tasks to other people that are required for you to complete a task. For example, if you create a task to "Create the Event Program Design" you can make subtasks for someone else to get you the sponsor's names/logos, and for an entirely different person to provide you with the program timeline, all in one spot!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're coming from Trellow or Producteev, or another project management software, this is a great user friendly option for multiple users. If you need a gantt chart though, this one won't work for you.
Asana - Best Free Project Management Tool
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to create separate workspaces for each department and project is a huge plus. Also, being able to assign recurring tasks and set due times for each task is fantastic.
What do you dislike about the product?
Free version does not allow for custom permissions for certain users. There is also no page for full management of the entire organization including all workspaces and projects created by all users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana has sped up the project management process and communication with the business and clients. It allows us to review and edit technical and business specs all in one place.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Absolutely recommend Asana if you are looking for a free project management tool for high to mid level tasks management.
Even the free version is great!
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to not only assign tasks from the platform, but also email tasks directly to the platform or set up zapier tasks to create tasks in the system. The calendar feature is awesome and the platform is so easy to use. It gives the ability to both create checklists of tasks or a post on a board to track and organize tasks - so you can modify your management to however your employees work best. Plus, you can set vacation time on your account so you aren't assigned a due date for when you'll be out of office - brilliant!
What do you dislike about the product?
That there are a lot of cool features I miss out on because we don't want to pay to upgrade to Premium. For the free version, you really get to do a lot. We don't have access to timelines, templates and priority settings but if we upgraded, Asana would definitely prove to be that much more powerful for us.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organizing our major projects into manageable chunks. Getting our team on the same page and managing workloads and timelines properly.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have a large team that needs to organize tasks, definitely go with Asana. It's so easy to use and it's very inexpensive. Even the free version helps us take care of everything we need!
Asana Review
What do you like best about the product?
It makes my life, and that of my team, easier with the ability to keep all of our individual and group tasks and projects in one place and easy to manage. It is very user friendly and keeps us all on the same page.
What do you dislike about the product?
At this point, there is not much I dislike about Asana in it's web form. The app could use some improvement, as it seems slightly less user friendly and could use some offline support.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were having issues with communication across departments, which was causing issues. With the help of Asana, our communication as an organization is improving, as we are able to assign tasks to those in other departments and are able to are able to work together better on moving toward success in our projects.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a great product for team project collaboration, brainstorming, and personal task lists.
Asana for team project tracking
What do you like best about the product?
Best features are ability to track multiple team members' progress, deliverables by due date and use of fun themes.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are limited views but overall the traditional view by project and sub task works well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana helps curb the amount of email clutter I get. I like the instant check-ins on project status and the seamless view between desktop and android phone.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it, load in your proje ts and track all the details from small to big.
Asana Boosts Accountability and Productivity
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability to customize it to fit how your organization works. I also think the training, both in terms of video tutorials and live webinars, is incredibly helpful. These resources also help increase buy-in from new users being asked to integrate Asana into their workflow. Asana is extremely powerful and, as you get deeper into it, it can provide a whole host of integrated solutions for project management. That said, none of the "bells and whistles" are required to get started. It can be used in its most basic level, which is extremely intuitive, and still have a huge impact on order and oversignt.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much. Possibly the limitations on adding outside contractors without buying additional licenses.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have dramatically increased accountability and project management since adopting Asana. In addition, we have eliminated a lot of pointless emails by having all communication live within a task or project. This has also reduced the number of meetings we need to have to get everyone "on the same page."
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it and be sure to use the training resources to get others on board. Side note: your site won't let me upload the screenshot to confirm so you can download it here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/m4wrqg7bcr8n818/asana.jpg?dl=0
Great collaboration for a team!
What do you like best about the product?
Great way to collaborate, task out projects and see timeline/calendar all in one place. Our team works remotely often so we rarely have the ability to all jump into a conference room. This serves as a way for us to stay connected and know what our team members are doing, see the calendar, know progress and status made on a project.
What do you dislike about the product?
Can be overwhelming to get set-up on a project and get everything entered in.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management without having a designated project manager on our team.
