Very forward-thinking task list management tool for cross-functional teams

  • August 01, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The way you create tasks within lists and combine them into multiple projects, across all the teams involved.
What do you dislike about the product?
Mac App would be nice to have and some better visual customizability like Dark mode.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keep tracking of what is needed for which element in our workflow. Great tool to get the team involved.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Look into some of the features they are working on. It will be the tool of the future. Fascinating!

Tool based mainly on optimizing the administration and organization of a project

What do you like best about the product?
From the point of view of task organization and administration, this software provides a variety of tools for effective management. Very easy to integrate into work teams due to its easy functionality.

This application connects our administration team, some of which are almost always in the field, so that we can all work together. Practically eliminating the need for internal emails. We love it. It keeps all our relevant information, of fast and current access. Everyone has the most up-to-date news about all the projects they are involved in, so it makes everything move much faster, especially in billing and commercial development.
What do you dislike about the product?

The variety in the languages since it is not available in English.
Add tool to expose the dedication times in each task.

It's great that you can create templates for larger projects or tasks that happen again so you do not have to rebuild it all the time, but it's a pain that people who do the task assigned to the template can not.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It makes my job much easier. It helps office staff be more self-directing, and it keeps us organized on our management team.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana is a solid program with solid project management features. Therefore, it is a better option for those looking for task management software for business teams. However, it is synchronized on multiple platforms and can work for family or personal use.

What do you dislike about the product?
I think the tutorial of how to use could be easier
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Task mastering is a big one and when we manage what everyone has done each day it makes I very easy to achieve.

Very Lovely!

What do you like best about the product?
It is great at assigning tasks and keeping accountability high due to tracking the process capabilities of the platform. Excellent for teams that don't work in person. My team is across the ocean and it is pretty difficult to get everyone aligned especially considering the time zones and the ineffectiveness of email communications. Therefore, i would highly recommend anybody who is looking to get more productive with their teams who don't work in person to use Asana. Also, did I mention that it seamlessly integrate with google documents? Yes!! Smooth and amazing :)
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it was a little smarter by somehow knowing what tasks we need to complete a follow-up. Sometimes in the mids of all the tasks and goals that we have set to accomplish - things can get lost. I wish Asana was using some sort of Artificial Intelligence algorithm to get more out of the people who are using the platform - by suggesting things that have been left aside.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Working with a team across the ocean is very difficult. Nothing is more difficult then that - so for us it is extremely important to get aligned and get things done on time.

Great for keeping projects on track!

What do you like best about the product?
Flexible. Excellent design. Fast and responsive. Free version for up to 15 people. Feature-rich.
What do you dislike about the product?
Hard to say, quite honestly I have yet to find anything about this product that would qualify as a "con". Maybe if I am forced to say something negative it is not ideal for graphics-intensive work and there are no desktop apps.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Wanted a way of making assigned tasks and creating projects easier. It really helps with delegation and staying on time with deliverables.

Great project management tool for teams

What do you like best about the product?
At Boot Camp Digital, we use Asana every day! It was easy to figure out right away, and it didn't take long for my team to start setting up projects and adding tasks. My team has liked the integration with our other tools and the ability to communicate and assign tasks to each other.
What do you dislike about the product?
We wish there were more of the team functions in the free version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With a virtual office, it's super helpful to know what everyone's working on, what is coming, etc. We don't have to guess or keep checking in on each other, and we can all easily assign each other tasks as needed.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you like the Discussions feature in Basecamp, this product is going to be a little lacking. It's still a great software though, so finding an alternative might be a good option.

Easy to Use but somewhat tedious

  • July 31, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
it's very easy to organize your tasks by project or due date or person responsible for the task. You can quickly navigate to a particular set of tasks and see them at a glance without getting too into the weeds.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can take a long time to get it set up because you have to enter each task in one by one.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This reduces the amount of time we have to spend in scheduling meetings as an office. Our boss can assign everyone their tasks and then when we meet we just go over what we've completed.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
take the time to set it up right, and then it will be super useful! Just be prepared to spend some time setting it up.

Easy to use in a small team

  • July 31, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Creating task is now easy, we can have projects and create sections to organize everything. The link having this search view which is saving my preferences and creating an automatic saved report, this is extremely useful and saves a lot of time ! I like being able to add customized label and tags, this is more understandable for everyone in the team and we can't find them more easily .
What do you dislike about the product?
We can't add more than one assignee, this could be very useful though... I think you still can improve the UI a bit, as it feels there is not enough space in the screen sometimes with all of these tasks opened ! I think when creating tags and labels there are not enough available colors, we keep reusing the same one every time and it makes it harder to realize which one is which when reading the tasks.
I don't like the fact that we can only have one level of sections and then task, This could be super useful to have other sub-tasks in another font.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In my developer team we are following an Agile method and have to create, assign and do tasks each week per sprint. We are then using Asana to do all of this and keep an history of all the things we have done, understand what went wrong etc
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Please add a functionality to add more than one assignee

Best Project Management Software

  • July 31, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing in ASANA is that it is very easy to use. No need to wait to load the open and close subtasks and wait for it to load again. You can just click and you will see all the things you needed. It doesn't slow down the loading time even though the conversation is too long already.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is pricey. The heartbreaking part is when it is very effective to use but the company have to let go using it because we can't afford it as we hire more employees.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The back and forth. It is because you can see the whole task thread easily. Nobody is being left out. We can pass a task from one shift to another without hassle.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
They must avail this if they are really having trouble in tracking tasks. It is also surprisingly effective at clients communications too especially to us who deals with Web Design clients. Every discussion is there, any changes is there as well. So, even if you are about to continue the project that was left by another employee, you will not have any trouble at all. You can just accept the task and do it!

Simple and Easy to Use

  • July 31, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is extremely simple to setup and use. The entire software is built in a very natural way, so the way you are supposed to add tasks into particular areas is extremely intuitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
It lacks a little bit of the complexity that the other apps provide. There is no option to switch between views - List and Board. Would've been great to have that flexibility.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using it to track the progress of my team in multiple locations
Recommendations to others considering the product:
For beginners in the project management space, asana works best. Their app is very simple to use and since its a lean system, the loading time is very less.
