Not very useful tool. Slow and expensive
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of creating funnels and segmentation is what I like about CleverTap. On a daily basis, we use segmentation to send out notifications to our users. This is a nifty feature.
We like the feature that clevertap can provide push amplification to the notifications which means it will retry sending a notification multiple times if it fails to render on the user's app in the frst attempt.

What do you dislike about the product?
The tool is very slow. Some internal Clevertap events can sometimes only be used under specific charts like Push impressions event is only available in Events chart and not in trends chart. It is IMPOSSIBLE to edit a saved chart or review if the chart was created correctly. The only way to save a chart is to create a dashboard and you cannot edit it at all except for the date range. This is a basic need and every tool should have it. Amplitude does a fantastic job at this and clevertap should take a few pointers from their playbook.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Clevertap mainly for notifications. These are used to drive our DAUs as well as in helping users understand the app. We also use it to make users do specific actions in the app to drive awareness and educate them.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a very slow tool. Please review all options before considering as it is quite expensive. Not recommended for a sandhill startup.

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about CleverTap is that it is very easy to use and understand, the campaigns, segments, analytics all come in very handy while testing the piece of software.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing which I dislike the most about CleverTap is that sometimes the user profile takes ages to be formed. You have to re-register multiple times to make your profile reflect on the platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Analytics and Push campaigns are a few of the major use cases we are solving using CleverTap. The benefits are that you can test out a single notification on a single device before actually setting up a campaign.

Easy to set up the campaigns and journey for your app. You can manage your In-app notification, Email, SMS, and push notification all in one single platform.
Also, the analytics part is easy to use and read.

The liquid tags may not work at times which could be quite disappointing. Also, the campaign wise data is only available via email and not readily available on the dashboard.

It's the best tool to use if you are considering retention of app users, easy to set up and manage.

Probably the best (if not one of the best) customer engagement marketing platform in the market
What do you like best about the product?
The amount of channels that you can use to reach your customers with marketing campaigns is truly amazing! There's definitely a channel for every business out there and I like how you can create segments in clevertap and export them directly into Facebook/google ads as remarketing audiences. They have pretty nice analytics which you can use to complement your existing analytics platform such as Google Analytics and you can easily create dashboards according to your business needs. I also like the journeys feature which allows us to create multistep journeys to reach out customer in different stages. Lastly, their customer support is really good and it seems like help is always nearby, thanks guys!
What do you dislike about the product?
You'll love this platform if your business revolves heavily around your mobile app to generate leads for your business. However, if you're planning to use CleverTap for web integration, please note that there are no landing page builders and no native forms that you can implement on your website. As there is no direct integration with forms, manual workarounds need to be done to capture and send form data and update your user profiles in CleverTap database. Email functionality can be improved, e.g. give user rights to bulk import HTML templates, save and overwrite existing templates etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
CleverTap is helping us identify customers and their journeys as a single profile instead of seeing them as multiple different sessions and cookies. This helps us create better data-driven campaigns and reach out to our customers at the right place and the right time.
Hidden Bills, Very poor support, they are big company don’t care startups.

Clean UI, Lot of commitments, Fancy reports which you have to pay extra addons
What do you dislike about the product?
1. Hidden fees, I was subscribed to a startup plan which they promise for free for a year but just because I was not part of their investor circle they gave me 7000 Rs.
2. It took us 1 month to figure out how to set up proper events and get meaningful reports, there is no support, all the replies to tickets after 12 hours.
3. We reported this is taking spam traffic, they claimed it’s working well and billed us 32,000 which is 5X of my subscription.

Great for campaigns
What do you like best about the product?
Love the campaigns modules, they are very easy to create the different types of campaigns and flexible to customize.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the analytics modules can be improved, the chart types are very limitated and the boards aren´t dimanic (you can´t change dates inside a dashboard).

Great information shared. Very Good speakers and real cases studies. PDFs are handy to follow up and a tool to apply in our companies what we learned.

Maybe it was a little long. At some presentations, I lost attention.

We understand the first steps and what we can delay to the next stage in our process to improve growth and retention. Sometimes we want to do everything at the sametime. Focus, plan, test, and deliver.
