What do you like best about the product?
LogicMonitor's interface is FAST. Coming from SolarWinds, it was shocking how fast LM could fetch and present data even when compared to an on prem alternative.
What do you dislike about the product?
Like all SaaS apps, not every feature is included in the base product and sometimes it has been unclear what new features would be included in our subscription.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
LM keeps eyes on all of our data center infrastructure and alerts us to outages before our users notice.

The fact that you can monitor every resource. One single pane of glass for the complete company!
What do you dislike about the product?
Some features are not that easy to set up, at times complex.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One same view for all departments, one place to start the debugging of issues.

Flexibility and scalability end to end - in product and also on services delivered by organization

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
With LogicMonitor you not only buy a license and a product, you also get the full suite of services from the organization behind, delivered from a highly customercentric staff of professionals, enthusiastic about doing things right - first time.
What do you dislike about the product?
I havent really experienced any downsides, other than you need to expect you set aside some time to learn the product and technologies behind, but that is covered in the good learning paths you can choose to either certify in or just take the classes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Observability and insights - supporting in incident handling and limiting time spent on debugging.

    Information Technology and Services

Pretty positive, it can be clunky to configure new customers

What do you like best about the product?
Customisation of the platform is the best part of the platform
What do you dislike about the product?
network mapping could use some improvement. The current network mapping i.e. showing the overview of the network isn't the best for troubleshooting or showing the overall picture of how the sites and devices are linked.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're using it a central solution for networking of networking, Azure and traditional infrastructure for our clients

What do you like best about the product?
it is easy to access and very quick to retrieve performance stats and up to date status of our servers and services. Because of this, it is always the first monitoring tool I check when issues arise
What do you dislike about the product?
It is complicated when trying to setup alerting. The UI to setup alert routing is not very user friendly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Gives us nessacary monitoring and performance collecting. Has been a great tool to use during major incidents

Lightening fast deep dives

  • August 07, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like best that LogicMonitor is extremely fast to navigate and to do analysis. The speed allows us to explore more metrics and find more emerging patterns.
What do you dislike about the product?
SQL Server database metrics - it doesn't cover all the database performance metrics we require, and hence require another monitoring tool for SQL Server monitoring.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it for alerting of our infrastructure, seeing trends and also analysing metrics in major incidents.

What do you like best about the product?
Capable infrastructure monitoring with good support and documentation
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the default alert thresholds are poorly thoughtout and require a lot of manual tweaking.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Comprehensive monitoring of a wide range of infrastructure across multiple platforms means we can alert on issues as they occur and identify root causes quickly, and perform capacity management on our systems.

  • August 07, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Because it is feature rich, we found that with careful consideration of those features it can become very flexible, and therefore can provide very tuned monitoring for all of our use cases
What do you dislike about the product?
Logic Monitor is a steep learning curve, and time must be made to fully understand how it can be best deployed and utilised
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We reorganised our internal support structure away from traditional service domains or silos, and now focus more on the critical functions which support our customer, end user and business outcomes. Using Logic Monitor are able to define groups and dashboards which provide a range of views, from status at a glance to deeper performance analysis.

Low Touch, High Metric Reward

  • August 07, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Instead of telling your monitoring tool what you want monitored, LogicMonitor will discover a lot of the metric & data points for you, mostly out of the box and away you go. You can then very easily tweak and modify the thresholds for alerting, creating escalation chains to wake the relevant people using your Incident Management platform of choice.
Dashboards are extremely powerful and useful but also very easy to create.
Powershell features very prominently in LogicMonitor which is fantastic as it's a ubiquitious langauge in the Windows / Microsoft world and is relatively easy to write scripts/modules for.
What do you dislike about the product?
Creating LogicModules (DataSources, ConfigSources etc) can be quite complicated, however this is required as they need to return data in a consistant manner.

Some things you think should be possible or work one way are not possible with LogicMonitor. Powershell is very prominent in LogicMonitor, however it is not an integration, as in, you cannot use a Powershell script in an Escalation Chain, and therefore an Alert Rule.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lowering critical incidents by bringing potentional problems to the surface before they can cause havoc.
Visiblity of Infrastructure to management especially during important events. App Owners are also more aware of problems with their servers & services instead of Infrastructure being the middle man
