Easy to use and maintain, features growing every month
What do you like best about the product?
Simplicity in the UI, and all bulk storage done in the cloud meaning the age old issue of bulky on-premise servers are no longer a bother.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some features lack clarity initially, and the alerting could be improved and more easily customisable. The emailed alerts could be styled (HTML) fairly easily but this feature is still absent.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use LM for dashboarding of critical systems end-to-end and finite monitoring of process/tasks. It has helped analiyse netflow on switching to resolve large scale issues also.

Quickly deployable and highly scalable
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to drill down into the Infrastructure and Networking metrics in a simple user interface is a big selling point of the platform
What do you dislike about the product?
The dependency mapping feature, whilst in its' infancy, is still clunky and requires more maturity. I use Azure Service Map for dependency mapping at this point in time but I hope to use LogicMonitor for this as a single pane of glass system.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Single pane of glass across multiple departments.
Visibility of important IT metrics from an executive POV

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Implement with a trained System Admin and also an experienced system engineer
Exceptional Support tools
What do you like best about the product?
Their support department has been second to none. I've had my questions answered every time, even if sometimes the answer is not the one I'd like to hear, it's clear what my path forward would need to be.
What do you dislike about the product?
That I'm required to put 40 characters minimum in this field.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use LogicMonitor to monitor our proprietary applicances as well as network infrastructure. We also have been able to use the scripting to monitor arbitrary items that help our operations team become aware of issues much faster.
Flexible and Powerful Monitoring Solution
What do you like best about the product?
Logicmonitor has the capability to ingest multiple types of data, sourcing from WMI, PerfMon, SNMP, and a variety of scripting tools to access device-specific API's. It does so without an agent, and with that level of flexibility, we can focus on tuning our alerting with the assurance that if there is a metric we see, there is a strong chance we can measure it.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the alerting dashboard shortcut on the UI should be customizable. I have multiple "tenant" departments in my org and dislike the extra step to get to the appropriate alerts screen.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have integrated LM into our everyday work. The app is the first thing we look at in the morning, all our team members keep at least one of the customizable dashboards on their desktops at all times. We have put metrics to all our infrastructure and services.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is very easy to start to use, spend time considering the way you want to organize your infrastructure, applications, and alerting. It can be messy at scale if architecture isn't planned out in advance.
Great product and alternative to Zenoss
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, intuitive GUI, support for cloud services and website monitoring.
We replaced Zenoss (open source product) with LogicMonitor last year. It's been a great success to date.
We replaced Zenoss (open source product) with LogicMonitor last year. It's been a great success to date.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it's hard to open links from LogicMonitor in a new Chrome tab.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All monitoring of our cloud infrastructure hosted in Azure and AWS.
LogicMonitor review
What do you like best about the product?
We use logic monitor for monitoring both cloud and on prem appliances. It is easy to configure and use.
What do you dislike about the product?
None. With the features that I use, I am satisfied
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Problems solved are better monitoring/ alerting system for our appliances
Using Logicmonitor for the past one year
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use LogicMonitor cloud portal. Timely updates to the product. Easier to add/manage devices.
What do you dislike about the product?
Alert tuning on the LogicMonitor platform could be improved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy to manage all our Server and Network devices within a centralized platform. Vastly improved our network monitoring ability.
Logicmonitor provides exceptional support and metrics
What do you like best about the product?
Logicmonitor is very easy to use and fully integrates with puppet. I like how it uses collectors to poll data. Metrics are very easy to read and understand. I always use support's live chat, and the staff is very helpful and patient. They're also very eager to help with integrations with the service.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd like to see more functions with its terraform provider to do more automation. Decomissioning hosts is very difficult when integrated with puppet. I'd like to see more out of the box automations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Logicmonitor helps a lot with troubleshooting. Several times it helped reveal resource bottlenecks in our hosts. I use the website monitoring/metrics a lot when troubelshooting issues and using it as a baseline for code changes. It's great to be able to compare metrics from a year ago to now.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Highly recommend Logicmonitor. Ease of use and integration.
LM Experience
What do you like best about the product?
I love the graphs and the historical data to troubleshoot the issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not pleasant experience when we have a collector issues which triggers no data alerts
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Quick escalations to appropriate teams to resolve the issue. Its east to setup monitoring on devices and friendly support staff for the help!
Why would I want my monitoring in the cloud?
What do you like best about the product?
LogicMonitor's deployment gives it a unique ability to alert you if the cloud loses contact with the on-prem collectors. This ability is a huge benefit over pure on-prem solutions i've seen where a catastrophic outage would take the whole system down and no alerts would get out.
What do you dislike about the product?
I feel like I almost always say that IT solutions are overpriced. So, I feel that LogicMonitor is priced a little high. But I have never run a software company so this may be an uninformed opinion. I also wish that they had an entry level solution with fewer monitored devices for a lower cost (they used to). Also, sometimes i struggle trying to tweak monitoring settings. But their support is always very helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
LogicMonitor has given my team peace of mind that we will get alerting for every type of outage that we can think of. Their alert options give us flexibility to escalate as needed which we did not have before.
