Great monitoring platform
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use. LogicMonitor's interface makes monitoring your infrastructure easy. You do not need a PhD to add devices and customize your dashboard.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't much to dislike. IP scans are little buried to make adjustments. but other than some few hard to find screens its a solid interface
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
monitoring multiple different sites and customers. Just deploy a small collector on premise and you are off to the races. no complicated firewall rules to configure or on-premise applicances

Intelligent and easy to use
What do you like best about the product?
The upsides to LogicMonitor’s for me are the flexibility when it comes to being able to create logic modules for custom monitoring, also how easy the panel is to use which makes the process of explaining to someone how to use the panel and best practices much easier. Dashboard creation is very easy and can provide useful information to a wide array of people from anyone dealing with this on the technical side (NOC etc) to dashboards for SDM's
What do you dislike about the product?
Some limitations on RBAC with logic modules, some missing features also that could improve day to day work in the panel (being able to select instance groups when creating dashboards rather than just the individual instances)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to monitor much more than we have ever have with any other monitoring tool we have used. Flexibility to integrate with other software tools.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are currently using old monitoring software that does not quite meet your monitoring requirements/does not have the flexibility for you to create your own modules to monitor software I would recommend looking into LogicMonitor as your next potential monitoring software. On top of this the UI is very easy to understand and use for people of a range of levels and understanding
A comprehensive learning process of IT systems and API capabilities
What do you like best about the product?
The API. Best one we (Aurora) have ever used. Well documented and plenty of support available.
What do you dislike about the product?
I found the skilljar sessions were not as relevant to the exam questions as I expected.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are providing intelligent solutions for IT monitoring automation, as well as building our own products via the API for customers using LogicMonitor
Amazing Monitoring System
What do you like best about the product?
Logicmonitors agentless system allows you to quickly monitor a lot of your infrastruture in a quick and easy manor. After installing the collector and creating accounts, as long as networking is in place monitoring is really easy and straight forward. The level of complexity of monitoring is completely up to you, the out of the box monitoring provides a great insight into many different system types. Further to this, adding your own custom monitoring to the platform is straight forward and can be easily done on the UI.
What do you dislike about the product?
Learning the entirity of the system can be a bit overwhelming and take time.
RBAC could introduce more lower level controls.
SNMP trap eventsource could be improved

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Logicmonitor offers a centralised system to us. Previously using multiple different monitoring tools, all resources were added to LogicMonitor for a single source of truth. With the massive library of datasources most devices had a very good amount of monitoring out of the box.
Topology mapping offers an easy viewing of networking including dependant alerting for key infrastructure.
Root cause anaylsis to stop alert flooding
API makes automation very easy

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ensure you are confident enough to start implementing before doing so, to avoid creating a mess on the platform. Expertise may be required in the type of monitoring you need.

LogicMonitor user review
What do you like best about the product?
LogicMonitor is one of the leading monitoring tools used to monitor resources effectively.
LogicMonitor takes an agentless approach which cuts down on setup time and customer resources. LogicMonitor has helped overcome outdated monitoring solutions, and as it is a SaaS approach the updates and Maintenace arer handled by LogicMonitor themselves, saving on infrastructure costs to the business.

What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of user profile customization such as a dark mode; this is quite a bright place! More role customization as well!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The benefit is that we can alert for things when we like and route them to who we want, not just a mix of alerts in one place.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Update all your LogicModules first! Plan a proper folder structure for alert customization as the root folder doesn't allow it.
Great software backed by a great team
What do you like best about the product?
Many automated and out of the box features
What do you dislike about the product?
Not a lot I dont like about LM, perhaps having to re create esclilation chains when needing to edit them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping our critical infrasturcture monitoired and alerted on if any issues come up. We can be more pro active about certain issues.
LogicMonitor gives Great Dashboards and Best Monitoring
What do you like best about the product?
Logicmonitor is the best solution for Infrastructure Monitoring. It has great functions which other tools doesn't. I like the various Dashboards which we are using in our company. It gives the user ability to add bulk of nodes or applications using ip range. Even client URLs are monitored in smart way. It's the best solution.
What do you dislike about the product?
Somewhat it requires the expertise on different monitoring protocols due to which new IT analyst could find difficulty to manage altering and Dashboard.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are getting alerts even through text messages on our mobile phones which is the best thing. We then get jump to the Bridge calls immediately even when we are not on pur systems
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Good Infrastructure monitoring tool
Operations Manager
What do you like best about the product?
LogicMonitor provides deep and wide monitoring capabilities for multiple technology disciplines. Having worked with many monitoring tools in the past, LogicMonitor is by far the best solution from a scale and flexibility perspective. Being a SAAS solution reduces day to day complexity. With on-prem solutions we'd spend more time managing the tool than driving results and value for our clients. Their product management release cycle is impressive. I look forward to seeing the monthly release emails to see what is up and coming. The team at LogicMonitor (account management, leadership, support, professional services, etc.) are a pleasure to work with.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes you have to slow down to speed up. I find LogicMonitor sometimes has a tendency of being too ambitious with their roadmap and release schedule. I'd like to see a more dedicated focus to 1 to 2 big things a year versus taking on too many things that seemingly go on forever.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a carrier and operating in the service provider space, we do not want to be in the business of having the tools manage us. It is my experience, many service providers spend too much time managing the tools versus driving value and outcomes for clients. LogicMonitor allowed my organization to refocus energy in the right places which drives direct value and outcomes for our clients. Key benefits include dashboards and reports that are easily consumed by business focused clients. The data we can drive from LogicMonitor allows customers to make data-driven decisions for their business.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Focus on getting your commercial terms right. Since it is a SAAS solution, commercial terms tend to be subscription based which means long-term operational expenses. If you do not have in-house expertise to setup the solution, pay for professional services to get it right from the beginning. Little things like Alert Rules and Escalation Chains can paint you into a corner long-term if they are not setup right from the beginning. Make the right investment into your own staff from a training and management perspective. This should not be a solution managed off the side of someone's desk.
