Solid partner - great tool.
What do you like best about the product?
I like the flexibility of being able to code/write data sources to monitor what is important to me and my business as opposed to being limited to an "out of the box" functionality.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would much prefer to have the billing system updated so that customers can spend what they consume in terms of resource counts in the portal. As an MSP, we operate with a utility model....if you let 5 people go one month, you aren't paying for them next month. the billing model is a bit antiquated in my view as nobody wants to pay for anything (software licenses included) that they aren't using. That said, the LM team has worked with me to implement a manual process to gets us close to the promised land. As the title notes: Solid partner!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have much better alarming data helping us drive our problem management process. It has also helped us automate our customer onboarding process.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have a highly diverse environment in terms of hardware, virtualization and cloud platforms give Logic Monitor a serious look. It wins on flexibility alone.

Impressive monitoring capabilities
What do you like best about the product?
Highly advanced monitoring abilities in terms of what data it can retrieve and the range of different device types.
Monitors a wide range of devices including switches, routers, SAN's, NAS's, UPS's, hypervisors, and many more.
Customer support is good. Chat support response is immediate or usually less than 5 minutes, and the engineers are knowledgeable about the product.
Granular user permissions for technicians. Reporting capabilities and dashboards are very robust.

What do you dislike about the product?
High learning curve. Somewhat expensive. Out-of the box alerting will create a lot of tickets unless a lot of time is spent tweaking.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Current RMM platform lacked some advanced network monitoring features. Also lacked some of the hardware monitoring that LM can provide, such as physical disk monitoring on SAN's. We also had no software that could retrieve netflow data, which LM can do.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
LogicMonitor is an excellent solution if you are looking for highly advanced monitoring capabilities for a wide range of devices. It offers rich analysis of network traffic and detailed monitoring of physical hardware. I wouldn't say it's for everyone, as it does come with a high price tag, and it does have an extreme learning curve. If you are a MSP, you will most likely have one person who acts as the product administrator. It will be counter-productive to try and train more than a handful of engineers on the slew of features this product has.
Solid software thats improving all the time
What do you like best about the product?
Very easy to setup widgets and dashboards. Fairly user friendly to a novice that doesnt know what they are doing. Can easily setup ping tools, perfmon metrics or the like.
What do you dislike about the product?
A little hard to get going if you don't run a traditional domain. The support can walk the end user through getting it going but it isn't an easy process.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to monitor our production environment that is public facing. We are able to alerts and live dashboards to ensure up time to critical servers. The SQL resources allow us to also ensure that the sql performance is running optimally and when something goes wrong, LogicMonitor gives us a very good starting point to troubleshoot whats happening on the boxes.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Ensure your team is ready for adoption. Go through the training portal, it is very insightful. Also, have an understanding of what you want to use LogicMonitor for.
2020 LogicMonitor
What do you like best about the product?
We love the fact that the monitoring for our environment is condensed down to one tool. One pane of glass is helpful. The dashboard features have been instrumental in helping our management team understand what is happening on our networks. LogicMonitor's support is very helpful, the support features being built right into the user interface is super helpful. Simplicity in adding many device is great.
What do you dislike about the product?
LogicMonitor can be a bit tricky bringing in devices that have not been added to their monitoring tools already. Some of the dashboard creation takes extensive knowledge in many areas. However, their support is great and is always willing to help.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are allowing our users to check dashboards to view network metrics. In 2020 when internet connectivity is more important than ever, LogicMonitor has allowed us to diagnose issues faster. We also monitor websites at "high visibility" websites for our users, so we are aware of issues whether or not the issue lies with us or not in the end.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
LogicMonitor has been great to work with overall from the first contact to ongoing product support.
Great Monitoring Software
What do you like best about the product?
The new features that were deployed this year. Especially in regards to AWS. The support is very helpful as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not all AWS services have a monitor feature.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Various issues throughout the board in regards to a Tech company this software has definitely because an asset we use to diagnose and resolve issues.
Great monitoring tool!
What do you like best about the product?
Quick set up, we can gather data within minutes of setting up a collector. The ability to customize monitored events and integrate alerts with other systems is also very useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing! LogicMonitor is like adding 3 full time people to my staff.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Faster response to system issues. Much better collaboration for root cause analysis and issue resolution across support teams (DBAs, Network, Apps)
Logic Monitor Gets It Done
What do you like best about the product?
Built in monitors are easy to deploy for just about any device we come across, This has enabled us to deploy the tool quickly and effectively across all customers. Ease of deployment allows us to use it as a sales tool as well. We can deploy quickly and start showing customers where issues are with proof. The alerting options it provides are second to none. Voice call, text, email and Connectwise integration are all helpful options we use.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some times too many alerts at once for a single outage. Could use better control on silencing duplicates. For example, if a site goes offline it can generate several tickets, one for each device. We really only need it to tell us when a site is down one time. THe ability to put in a schedule for on-call rotations woudl be nice to have as well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Proactive calls to clients letting them know an issue is about to happen or could happen before it does is priceless. It is such a time saver by automating the alerts. We have been able to be out front of issues like hard drive replacements, battery replacements, memory chips as well as an occasional system board. All this was possible with the built in alerts. Showing customers historical reports for disk growth, CPU utilization or even daily load. This has turned into a sales opportunity as well in many cases.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
When we compared LogicMonitor to other industry leaders. LogicMonitor has more out of the box in a very reliable hosted environment. This allows us to focus on the items that are more important and not worry about the tool being operational. The ability for us to deploy it quickly and to co-brand it for our clients with dedicated IT teams has also increased our footprint in the local market.
Great remote monitoring tool.
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of monitoring all devices remotely
What do you dislike about the product?
The price can be a bit shocking to a small business
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Remotely monitoring devices that go offline.
Great tool for multiple requirements
What do you like best about the product?
Ability to monitor both on prem and cloud environments with one tool. The setup and configuration out of the box is also very easy with very few false positives or noise.
What do you dislike about the product?
You have to manually update new monitoring criteria and "sensors" for additions made to the product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a great view of our environment and a single pane of glass for everything. We are also able to see patterns with history and proactively prevent outages.
A Boon to MSPs
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of administration. Robust out-of-the-box monitoring functionality across a variety of infrastructure and IT platforms.
What do you dislike about the product?
Alerting does require a bit of tuning, but that's to be expected with all of the granularity LM affords in monitoring.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Proactive incident response and the ability to voice concerns on potentially failing hardware before they become outages.
