A versatile solution to all of our needs
What do you like best about the product?
There is a wide variety of network equipment that we monitor for many customers through our NOC and Contact Center. We are able to find ways to meet demands though the many capabilities of Logic Monitor.
What do you dislike about the product?
It may be a matter of having been spoiled by so much already having been prepared in advance, in many cases the system just works. There are some thought exercises in best implementing alerts, temperature for example. It will follow the alerts built into the network gear with no modification, however, finding a solution that will provide earlier alerts and is acceptable to all of our customers has remained a challenge. I could some day see development of integrated options for customizing alerts such as these.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We monitor many types of equipment and customizing these services when necessary has been a minimal challenge in most cases. The capability and reliability have been a huge benefit time and time again when we are challenged with new varieties of equipment.
LogicMonitor is a fantastic monitoring solution
What do you like best about the product?
The most obvious thing great thing about LogicMonitor is that it alerts us to issues before they impact users and allow us to take corrective action as soon as possible. No more waiting around to be told a service is down by the users. It allows us to see and correct minor problems before they get bigger and impact more people. The granular alert tuning on the devices is also great. It allows us to really tune the environment to our needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
The downsides are that sometimes I have to get up in the middle of the night because something is down. Before I got to sleep!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows us to quickly confirm the health of the environment and take corrective action if something is wrong. It allows us to see and correct even minor problems before they get bigger and impact more people. The Integrations that it provides as well to Microsoft Teams is really great to be able to inform our team of an outage without having to email them.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you have multiple tiers of alerting for different alert statuses. You don't need a phone call for a warning on a random device. Also, you can probably get away with only monitoring certain critical infrastructure.
Works for Enterprise Solutions
What do you like best about the product?
I love the fact that I can setup a dashboard view to see the servers I am in charge of. As well as the search feature on the system. I also like that it can sync with other systems( Such as Jira and Pager duty
What do you dislike about the product?
I would say the color schema is the worst, and that's not really an issue. The only issue I have is I haven't learned all it can do. With help form Others and your support team I have learned more and more of what it can do .
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Love that it gives me the real information I need to Administer my systems, in one single dashboard. and give me a away to search for items when I am on Call
Simple monitoring of everything
What do you like best about the product?
Simple billing model which allows you to monitor multiple different types of devices without having to purchase expensive modules. Setup your account and monitoring anything and everything. Cloud based and low maintenance, having a on-premise collectors are very low maintenance and do not require any significant configuration, none once deployed.
What do you dislike about the product?
You do need a module for doing configuration management such as network device configuration tracking. All the other features are available as is out of the box so this is strange.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Simple dash board creation with easy customisation for roles and link sharing or automated reporting for management
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The pay per node model is very convenient and easy to get business buy in, pay as you grow and true up once when you need to. The decreasing cost per node over your whole estate is an attractive proposition too.
Exceptional Support tools
What do you like best about the product?
Their support department has been second to none. I've had my questions answered every time, even if sometimes the answer is not the one I'd like to hear, it's clear what my path forward would need to be.
What do you dislike about the product?
That I'm required to put 40 characters minimum in this field.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use LogicMonitor to monitor our proprietary applicances as well as network infrastructure. We also have been able to use the scripting to monitor arbitrary items that help our operations team become aware of issues much faster.
Flexible and Powerful Monitoring Solution
What do you like best about the product?
Logicmonitor has the capability to ingest multiple types of data, sourcing from WMI, PerfMon, SNMP, and a variety of scripting tools to access device-specific API's. It does so without an agent, and with that level of flexibility, we can focus on tuning our alerting with the assurance that if there is a metric we see, there is a strong chance we can measure it.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the alerting dashboard shortcut on the UI should be customizable. I have multiple "tenant" departments in my org and dislike the extra step to get to the appropriate alerts screen.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have integrated LM into our everyday work. The app is the first thing we look at in the morning, all our team members keep at least one of the customizable dashboards on their desktops at all times. We have put metrics to all our infrastructure and services.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is very easy to start to use, spend time considering the way you want to organize your infrastructure, applications, and alerting. It can be messy at scale if architecture isn't planned out in advance.
Logicmonitor provides exceptional support and metrics
What do you like best about the product?
Logicmonitor is very easy to use and fully integrates with puppet. I like how it uses collectors to poll data. Metrics are very easy to read and understand. I always use support's live chat, and the staff is very helpful and patient. They're also very eager to help with integrations with the service.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'd like to see more functions with its terraform provider to do more automation. Decomissioning hosts is very difficult when integrated with puppet. I'd like to see more out of the box automations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Logicmonitor helps a lot with troubleshooting. Several times it helped reveal resource bottlenecks in our hosts. I use the website monitoring/metrics a lot when troubelshooting issues and using it as a baseline for code changes. It's great to be able to compare metrics from a year ago to now.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Highly recommend Logicmonitor. Ease of use and integration.
LogicMonitor provides key monitoring and reporting services for our entire infrastructure.
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use. Getting servers and switches monitored is simple. Setting up alerting rules and thresholds is very easy. I've used a lot of monitoring suites and LogicMonitor is the best.
What do you dislike about the product?
The new mapping features needs some additional work. Setup and usage is vague right now.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monitoring every item in our infrastructure with great alerting and easy to configure dashboards to monitor everything we desire.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it free. The ease of use and quick time to implementation, even in a complicated network, is unmatched.
Ease of use and speed of performance is astounding
What do you like best about the product?
It is very easy to deploy, add devices and the speed of performance is amazing given all the data being collected.
What do you dislike about the product?
Graphs average performance over time, and could do better by not averaging when drilling down.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Onboarding devices, datapoints is quick and easy and we rely heavily on LogicMonitor for alerting and escalation.
IT Manager, Global Infrastructure Services
What do you like best about the product?
The flexibility and depth of the products flexibility and infrastructure/cloud monitoring needs
What do you dislike about the product?
a significantly higher cost of the product and ability to monitor network devices like SolarWinds does. The network team moved off LM and moved back to SolarWinds(twice decided to do this under two team leads)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The LM team helped our teams setup standards and basics for monitoring and then tuned the App alerts to the Dev teams to self manage. excellent experience and partnership with account management and support.
Great to focus on roadmaps and alignment of the product with the goals of our business/needs
