Vanta helped accelerate our audit
What do you like best about the product?
The need to gets things complete off of the automated tasks helps keep you in compliance. Knowing that all of your items are good to go helps give a busy CEO/CTO peace of mind.
What do you dislike about the product?
Setup is tedious and can take quite a lot of time. Evidence collection wasn't built in previously and is still a bit hard to navigate. Depending on the auditor you use, you may still be spending quite a lot of time keeping compliant.
There are still some things that Vanta doesn't do well on the evidence collection side. In fact, we had to navigate a few exceptions because Vanta reported some items incorrectly.
This doesn't automate 100% of your SOC 2 requirements but still does a fairly good job.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just keep in mind that SOC 2 is not a certificate nor is it a compliance requirement, it is an audit. Audits help surface what you could be doing better in your organization and you can tweak your controls as you wish.
Vanta is not an auditor and can sometimes get tricky if your auditor isn't really well versed with Vanta (even though the auditor was recommended to me by Vanta).

It is a good tool to start the SOC 2 audit
What do you like best about the product?
The agent that is installed on the computer gives a very useful overview to review important aspects regarding the safety of the company, provides the necessary requirements to take into account before going to the SOC 2 audit, in addition to providing some advantages in tools security you require to comply with SOC2
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like some reports to be a little more detailed, and to be able to customize the inspection depending on the size or characteristics of the company, for example for startups

What do you like best about the product?
Vanta will integrate with your identity store, cloud accounts, and laptop (or laptop management) to run checks that are required for SOC 2.
What do you dislike about the product?
They're a little bit behind on their integrations. For example, they don't support AWS SSO, so there's a big blind spot that we couldn't get visibility into through Vanta.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A single pane of glass to run security checks through many different cloud applications. It helped us to get close to SOC 2.
Security monitoring made easy
What do you like best about the product?
Vanta constantly monitors all of our services for accounts that need deprovisioning or require attention to security compliance. It makes it much easier to track who has access to what, and shows us how we can strengthen our overall security.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find there are too many emails going to the wrong department. For example, i get notified to deprovision folks from AWS but I do not have access to those AWS administrative features; thats our head of security's job.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's easy to forget to deprovision an account once an employee has departed. Vanta lets us know immediately.

Vanta has a very intuitive interface and provides very directed feedback for addressing issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not everything is doable via the UI and more often than not, I have to reach out to their (incredibly helpful and friendly) customer service team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Vanta to be in compliance for our SOC2 Type 2 certification.

What do you like best about the product?
Constant monitoring of our key services in the cloud allows our engineering team to rapidly identify areas that need to be worked on and triage issues identified by Vanta. Vanta gives us peace of mind when going in for critical review periods, such as the SOC2 audit. Over time we have come to rely on VANTA for our core security needs as the company grows.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's not much I dislike about Vanta. Anytime we have faced issues using the software, the support from Vanta has been quick and effective at answering any of our questions. It's really a software enjoyed by both our leader ship as well as our engineering team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Vanta is enabling us to get closer to SOC2 compliance. We have immediately realized benefits by saving countless developer hours per week when it comes to both identifying and tackling security vulnerabilities in our cloud infrastructure.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would highly recommend taking advantage of cloud infrastructure monitoring. Our company predominantly uses AWS, and Vanta has been great for ensuring no vulnerabilities that may compromise our cloud security.

What do you like best about the product?
Vanta helps with all security needs, from tracking background checks to ensuring we are fulfilling all of our compliance requirements. It's an easy all-in-one!
What do you dislike about the product?
There are so many compliance requirements that our company needs to fulfill that sometimes the user interface makes everything blend. Sometimes it is hard to differentiate where we have gaps. There's also a lot of manual work required to connect background checks and other applications, but this is not a deal breaker.

It keeps track of our security needs in one place.
Takes the pain away off security certifications

An easy way to get a list of things missing or not addressed yet

Missing assignment and comment function, it would be good to collaborate with my teammates on certification-related tasks

We are using Vanta to get a security certification for our company. There's a ton of things to do to get these certifications, and they're easy to miss, so it's good that we have Vanta

I think Vanta is a great investment if you're planning to get different security certifications for your business.
Staying on top of things is much easier with Vanta
What do you like best about the product?
The reporting tool is very user friendly and the account managers are very responsive to our needs and feedback.
What do you dislike about the product?
The auditors section is 'hidden' from us, though it would make much more sense for us to be able to see this data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are tracking our SOC2 evidence gathering, but are also benefiting from an easier new hire implementation flow.
Vanta is awesome - super easy to use and a great way to bring all compliance tasks into focus

UI is easy to configure, got completely setup in an afternoon. Customer service staff is top notch.

Dislike the work to get compliant! But Vanta helps a lot, and helps chart a path to staying in compliance.

Vanta is a great tool - but it's not a panacea, you still have work to do: but maintaining that work and being able to focus on what matters is what Vanta will bring
