Vanta: Essential for ISO Certifications
What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Vanta for a year and a half primarily to prepare us for ISO 27001 certification, as well as to keep our services in continuous compliance with certification requirements. The platform has greatly facilitated the management of all the necessary documentation for certification. I especially appreciate how easy the setup process was with the continuous support from the Vanta agent, who guided us step by step, and the included guides were clear and helpful. Vanta's real-time integrations with our systems are extremely useful and allow for efficient maintenance. The software has proven to be robust and aligns perfectly with our compliance needs, and in addition to this, Vanta offers excellent cost-benefit. The ease with which all documentation and processes can be maintained, thanks to everything being in the cloud, has allowed us to significantly optimize our tasks. For me, Vanta has been very useful and valuable, and I wish more people could experience its usefulness.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like Vanta to be more customizable and for the feedback provided to the development team to be considered more quickly and efficiently to make the changes we sometimes need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Vanta facilitates obtaining and maintaining ISO 27001 certification by managing documentation and processes in the cloud, which streamlines tasks, and offers robust integrations that adapt to our certification compliance needs.
Simple Interface, But Needs More Detailed Error Info

The simple interface that provides easy access into what I need to take care of.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the items that need to be fixed tend to have shorter solutions than others. It would be nice if there were more details on certain failed items.

Vanta is helping our company work through the SOC 2 compliance.

Our Governance and Compliance team needed a better solution than Drata that has more features and a better price point.

What do you like best about the product?
Vanta has truly transformed how we handle security and compliance workflows. The platform excels at making vulnerability management both easy and convenient—something that's rare in the compliance space. What I appreciate most is the intuitive way it allows us to manage and resolve security and compliance action items without the usual headaches.
The standout feature for me is the Linear integration. Being able to seamlessly convert vulnerabilities and security callouts into actionable tasks for our engineering team has been a game-changer. It bridges the gap between security/compliance teams and engineering, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks. Instead of manually tracking items in spreadsheets or bouncing between platforms, we can create tasks directly in Linear, which our engineers are already using daily. This integration alone has significantly improved our response time and accountability.

What do you dislike about the product?
While Vanta is excellent overall, there's definitely room for improvement in how it handles scan management. My main frustration is the lack of an easy way to deactivate scans that aren't relevant to our specific environment. When certain scans become repetitive or don't apply to our infrastructure, it would be incredibly helpful to have a more granular way to turn them off.
Additionally, I wish there was better memory functionality for deactivated action items. Currently, when you deactivate something, your options are limited—you can either deactivate it indefinitely or deal with it repeatedly. What would be ideal is a middle ground: an option for Vanta to "remember" that we've reviewed and dismissed certain items, without having to make permanent deactivation decisions. This would reduce noise and help us focus on genuinely relevant security issues.

Vanta is very straight forward to use thanks to their intuitive UI. You can pretty much find everything you need in a few clicks. They also allow for super easy collaboration with team members.

I can't think of any downsides on my end.

Security Compliance and Vendor Security and Privacy Assessment are problems Vanta is solving for us. They just make the entire compliance and security process so much more efficient and easy. We are also able to save a bunch of time by using Vanta to facilitate all of this.

The software is user-friendly and comprehensive. It allows me to allocate tasks to other staff members easily and provides a thorough approval process. It is also well-known among major customers.

It appears that there is still a noticeable gap between the Vanta policy templates and those that are truly audit-ready.

Security and compliance are important, with SOC 2 in place and plans to meet additional requirements in the future.

One of the major strengths of Vanta is the seamless setup process, facilitated by the Vanta Academy and an interactive guide that simplifies onboarding. The home page effectively organizes tasks with detailed guides on how to perform them, enhancing user-friendliness. Vanta has been instrumental in streamlining various complex processes. It has centralized our compliance management tasks into a single platform, significantly reducing the need for a large team and minimizing manual workloads. The platform excels in automating the vendor security assessment process, which previously required manual tracking of questionnaires, NDA approvals, and document submissions. Additionally, features like automated policy tracking, vendor security assessments, and real-time audit readiness have been particularly useful. Vanta's integration with Dreta for automating evidence collection and tracking adds another layer of efficiency to our operations. The comprehensive automation, ease of client management on a single platform, and continuous monitoring for audit readiness with minimal effort are compelling reasons for me to consider purchasing Vanta again.

Vanta poses considerable difficulties when handling intricate HR situations, especially in cases involving the rehiring of employees or managing name changes. These processes introduce operational obstacles that can hinder both compliance efficiency and the accuracy of data.
