Postman

What do you like best about the product?
Postman has added several powerful updates recently — the AI Agent Builder lets you connect APIs with AI workflows easily, while Postman Insights and Repro Mode make debugging and monitoring real-time issues much easier. The ability to import external npm packages in scripts saves time when writing complex tests. I also like the new Spec Hub and typed collections, which strengthen the design-to-test workflow, and improved variable management and collaboration tools that make team development smoother and more secure.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Postman continues to evolve, it can still feel resource-intensive, especially with very large collections or multiple open workspaces. The desktop app sometimes lags or freezes during heavy testing. Collaboration and syncing across teams, though improved, can still be inconsistent at times. I’d also like to see better version control integration and more advanced features—like Insights and AI tools—available in free or lower tiers, so smaller teams can benefit without upgrading immediately.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Postman simplifies and streamlines the process of developing, testing, and documenting APIs. Instead of relying on command-line tools like cURL or writing custom scripts for every test, I can use Postman’s visual interface to quickly create requests, manage parameters, handle authentication, and validate responses. It also helps catch bugs earlier by allowing automated tests and mock servers, which speeds up the development cycle. For team projects, shared workspaces and version-controlled collections make collaboration much easier, reducing miscommunication and keeping everyone aligned on the latest API specs. Overall, it saves time, improves API quality, and enhances productivity.

What do you like best about the product?
What I appreciate most about Postman is the ability to save my requests in collections, allowing me to return to them later without having to retype everything or redo the setup each time.
What do you dislike about the product?
At times, the desktop app can be slow and unresponsive, particularly when I have many tabs open.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work with APIs on a day to day basis, and Postman really makes the workflow very smooth. It makes it very easy to test endpoints, and also debug any unexpected issues using the error codes. It allows me to test APIs directly and validate them before interacting with the actual application.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
As a student, Postman makes it really easy to understand how APIs work. The interface is simple, and i can quickly send requests and see responses without writing extra code. Collections are super helpful when practicing multiple endpoints, and it saves me time when testing projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the app feels a bit heavy on my laptop, especially if i keep large collections. Some of the advanced features are also behind the paid plan, which is tough for students who just want to explore and learn.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Postman helps me practice API testing and debugging while working on my project and assignments. Instead of struggling with command-line tools, i can focus on learning API concepts in a more visual way. It has made it easier for me to test, organise, and document my projects, which is a big help both in coursework and personal leaning.

Postman review after 2 years of usage

What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is to organize and test APIs. Collections and environments save me a lot of time when switching between dev/test setups. The interface is very intuitive, and I can quickly debug issues by sending requests and checking responses without writing extra code. The ability to save and share collections with my teammates has also been very useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it feels a bit heavy on memory when I keep it open for long hours, especially if multiple collections are loaded. Also, the sync between desktop and web app is not always smooth. But these are small issues compared to the overall usefulness. Also sometimes I need to restart it don't show saved API requests.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
At Nokia, I mainly use Postman to test Spring Boot REST APIs during development. It helps me validate endpoints quickly before integrating them into the frontend or automating tests. Instead of writing scripts for every small test case, I can just configure requests and check responses instantly. This has sped up debugging, improved collaboration with my team, and reduced turnaround time for new features.
