Replace your product analytics team with Amplitude
What do you like best about the product?
Comprehensive and ready to use templates for product analytics. For almost everything you want to analyze for your product, you can find a way to analyze it in Amplitude with their templates and charts. My team and I used to run complex SQL queries, python/R scripts, and statistic models to do track, analyze and the product's health, and to explore leading indicators for purchase or retention. With Amplitude, I can get the insights, learnings within seconds, with no code written and no model built.
What do you dislike about the product?
The event tracking and data taxonomy set-up and maintenance is a pain.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Improve user engagement, optimize conversion and drive user retention.
Time-saving in reporting and analytics.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you set up the Amplitude event tracking and data taxonomy right.
Smooth onboarding, very potent tool
What do you like best about the product?
Unique offering. As we are growing, it is unavoidable to have nomenclature changes. Amplitude fills this gap by providing the flexibility in mapping through taxonomy.
What do you dislike about the product?
It has taken us a lot of time to train our employees who will use it. Something out-of-the-box is what most people are used to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has helped us see some complex paths that we could not track earlier. The taxonomy has helped us avoid rework.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are a growing company and you need a tool that does not make your rework as you go about changing your events, then this is the tool. Taxonomy feature really helps in mapping and saving time as the team starts tracking more events. Without losing pervious data, you can go about doing you job. Also, being able to connect with external tools especially our CRM was a cool thing.
I would recommend doing one on one training for your primary users. It is such a potent tool that it would make sense for the facilitators to map out the use cases and train the team accordingly.
Amplitude team's support is exceptional. The on-boarding was smooth. They were available at the right time for us despite geographic limitations. They are genuinely concerned about the success of implementation. Their experts have helped us get most out of the tool during the initial days itself.

Review for Amplitude

On the ball on alerting us on outages and monitoring alerts are very useful in helping us to detect bugs in events.
What do you dislike about the product?
Steeper learning curve for users and more comprehensive training videos needed.

Visibility of data and data transparency. Now everyone can understand how our users behave and act to improve it.
Must have tool for product analytics

I can't think of a single thing Amplitude could do to improve.

Great product, helps us understand out customers quite a bit
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use and the features that are available OOTB.

Everytime you change the tagging, the tagging does not change for historical data. As a result, your analysis can be a bit skewed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Understanding customer drop off points. Q&E metrics. Conversion %
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Amplitude has a free tier. Try it out and see if it meets your organizational needs.
Very powerful analytics platform
What do you like best about the product?
The speed (Some seconds) to make any analysis from very low level to aggregated data
What do you dislike about the product?
When they are errors in the past from our side or amplitude’s side it’s very difficult to correct them retroactively
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I want to understand the user journey and compare the behaviors and KPIs during AB Tests
Great Analytics Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use for all cross-functional team members. Provide a range of tools to segment the data. One of my favorite is the ability to easily segment by cohorts and create fast views into our data based on our kpis.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing at this point. Amplitude has been a great tool for us, we have started with them in 2019 so we are still digging deep on all the features and abilities, we have not encountered any blockers with the tool so far.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We wanted to a powerful analytics tool to help us get quick insights about our customers and track the health of our funnel.
Amplitude is essential for lean Product teams
What do you like best about the product?
The best part about Amplitude is the ease with which you can get right to insight that's most essential to Product teams, without having to lean on a BI or data science team that you likely don't have or can be tasked with more important work.
What do you dislike about the product?
My number one gripe is that I wish I could build more complex dashboards and have more flexibility in the UI canvas. There's too much white space reserved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Maximum insight into the metrics that are most relevant to what's happening in the product at that time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Focus on the questions you want to answer, start small, grow usage organically, then go back and refine your internal processes.
Best analytics platform for PMs
What do you like best about the product?
Fast querying, easy to share charts with the org, no data sampling
What do you dislike about the product?
As they add more features it gets a little more confusing managing charts vs dashboards vs team spaces etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Funnel analysis, retention research, cohort behavior
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Work with the team to define your event scheme well
Best tool for user behavior analytics I've used
What do you like best about the product?
It's a complex product, but really easy to use. As a PM leader in the organisation, I preach to PM's the 'build, measure, learn' mantra all day, every day, but it's really hard to ensure that measurement actually happens. Amplitude is so intuitive, and makes is so easy to dive straight into a user funnel, and start segmenting, that there's no excuse anymore. It creates a culture of experimentation and accountability. Love it!
What do you dislike about the product?
We have a two-side marketplace, and certain critical business funnels effectively span two different users' sessions. Given that a funnel is created around a user ID, it's impossible (or at least very hard without duplicating events) for us to create an end-to-end funnel.
I realise that limitation comes from the nature of our business, and I imagine other two-sided marketplaces are experiencing it, but it would be awesome if you guys came up with a way to tackle that - perhaps another identifier that we persist on both sides of the marketplace, such as a transaction ID? I dunno. You da analytics magicians.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Measuring impact of a given feature or experiment to the users' behaviour, and being able to segment is absolutely priceless for us. Hoping to unlock more value with the the other features that we haven't truly explored yet.
