Fast analytics and visualisations with the ability to drill down to individual user sessions

  • May 06, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It allows you to build visualisations for most of the use cases that you need in product analytics. It's also much faster than any other solutions and allows you to iterate quickly on concepts and ideas. It also allows you to drill down to session level fast. Also the anomaly detection system works incredibly well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Dashboard templates are not great. Also some level of customisation of the visualisations would be great beside changing colors (the recent addition of a second y axis is a good example). There are some common use cases that are also missing like creating groups for days since a user was New.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Quickly iterate on a product development problem. Monitor the metrics of our organisation. Easily build dashboards

Very power data analytics tool

  • May 06, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Amplitude has become an indispensable tool for our team when it comes to understanding how users interact with our product. Its strength lies in its robust and intuitive analytics capabilities, allowing us to move beyond surface-level metrics and truly grasp user behavior.
What do you dislike about the product?
* Steep Learning Curve and Complexity: For new users or teams without dedicated data analysts, Amplitude can feel complex and have a steep learning curve. Getting the most out of its powerful features often requires a significant time investment to understand its nuances and set it up effectively. Some users find it less intuitive than other analytics platforms, especially when starting.
* Cost: Amplitude's pricing, particularly for its more advanced features and higher data volumes, can be a significant factor, especially for smaller businesses or startups. The paid plans can be quite expensive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One of the standout features is its event-based tracking. This granular approach means we can analyze specific actions users take, providing a much clearer picture of their journey and pain points. This, combined with powerful segmentation options, allows us to dice and slice the data in countless ways, tailoring our analysis to very specific questions and user groups.
For product teams, features like funnel analysis and retention tracking are incredibly valuable.

Amplitude Analytics empowers the non-technical at organizations to extract domain specific insights

  • May 06, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Amplitude is like having a pocket “swiss army data scientist knife". What I love best about Amplitude is that it allows the non-technical members of an organization to interact with data as if they were a data scientist. This is critically important because each team in an organization has their own domain expertise or way of looking at how to solve business problems, which are typically multi-dimensional.

Assuming Amplitude has been properly instrumented, the simple UI and intuitive way that Amplitude can render charts and do "math" in real-time is astounding. This is especially empowering for the non-technical, as it allows them to creatively problem solve and justify design decisions based on data, not just intuition.
What do you dislike about the product?
One major thing I dislike about Amplitude Analytics is the lack of training directed towards the non-technical and non-data literate. I am part of the slack community and have completed the e-learning, but I find that there is an audience problem.

(Just FYI, I am an instructional designer at my organization, so my thoughts on this will be from that perspective).

The audience problem refers to the fact that Amplitude seems to be for the non-technical and to empower those sorts of folks at an organization, but the training and the community is mainly composed of administrators and data scientist folks. While I understand that data literacy is hard to teach to the non-data literate, I think Amplitude can do better to explain data concepts to these sorts of people through the lens of their own product.

The reason I mention this is that if the end user (again, the non-technical) does not know how to think like a data analyst, then they will not yield insights through the tool. If they are not using the tool, organizations are unlikely to continue using Amplitude.

It is certainly possible to help people think about how to conduct data analyses through Amplitude without resorting to overly technical definitions (which is something I have done internally at my own organization). It would be great if Amplitude did this as well or created support structures for those striving to be a changemaker at their own organization.

It is unwise to rely on organizations themselves to explain to their employees how Amplitude works under the hood in a simple to understand way. Just think about the process of proposing new events -- this is the most important feature of Amplitude, yet the folks who may use this tool internally do not have a deep understanding of how this works and a technical explanation from a Data Team inside of an organization will surely be lacking.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Amplitude is helping many different teams at organization be more data-driven and to think more creatively about using data to justify design decisions. It's also incredibly motivating because people can actually "see" the impact of what they have designed. It's also opened up new and different ways of communicating. I have noticed a shift in language within certain teams based on their Amplitude usage.

How do you analize your funnel without it?

  • May 06, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Amplitude has been key in order to create our user funnel and find consistency inside of the user journey.

I love the segmentation and the speed to load such complex graphs.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think that one of the pain point in amplitude is the fact that is not so intuitive. It requires a bit of interaction to find what you are looking for or how to mount everything.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Segmentation - it's really to segment and see the evolution of a specific cohort or segment

Funnel - looking through events to the exact steps of the user it means a lot to understand customer behaviour

Feature analysis - for post launch metrics is really to set your dashboard and coming back later

Solid product analytics with an expanding offering

  • May 06, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
A good range of charts and graphs, pretty flexible reporting. Easy enough to use once you've got the hang of the interface.

Being able to store the tracking plan in the same place that the data lands is useful for quality checks and to give everyone documentation to reference when they're using the data.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes there are things that seem simple on the face of it that I want to report on that I struggle to find a way to achieve. I'm not 100% sure if it's me not finding the way, or if the way doesn't exist.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We need to track things like feature adoption, feature usage, cohort behavior etc. and Amplitude gives us the tools to define our tracking plan and then track against it, and then query the data to track metrics and answer ad-hoc questions.

Reliable and scalable analytics I keep returning to

  • April 29, 2025

What do you like best about the product?
I'm a product manager at a startup and have tried several analytics tools over the years. Amplitude is the one I keep coming back to — I’m now implementing it for the third startup I’ve worked with. I was able to set it up from scratch each time, and it consistently proves to be powerful, flexible, and indispensable for understanding user behavior and driving product decisions.
What do you dislike about the product?
User attribution can be difficult to manage, especially when trying to track users across sessions or devices. But in fairness, this is a limitation I’ve encountered in all analytics tools, not just Amplitude.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Amplitude helps me deeply understand user behavior across the product — where users drop off, which features drive engagement, and what actions correlate with retention. This enables our team to prioritize the right features, improve onboarding, and increase activation rates. Without it, we’d be making product decisions in the dark.

Amplitude is a powerful analytics tool

  • April 29, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to build funnels, cohorts, retention charts, and path analyses, without needing to code. It also allows to create collaborative dashboards.
What do you dislike about the product?
This isn't something I dislike, but it's important to highligh that there is a learning curve for users who aren't afamiliar with analytics concepts or event-based data models.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Amplitude we're able to analyze data about the digital products, identify drop-off points and measure retention.

Super quick to navigate through once you get a hang of it.

  • April 17, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
As a busy engineer, I like that the learning curve is not much and almost straightforward with Amplitude to get the product analytics that I want for the features that I care about.
What do you dislike about the product?
The taxonomy needs to be finalised and meticulously thought about. Often, we forget to add more events. I would love if it could have some form of automatic instrumentation, like DataDog's Synthetic RUM sessions do.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It lets me plot graphs of queries that I want and compare how the users are engaging with the features we have shipped.
