What do you like best about the product?
I love the feature of hassle-free data collection. Since the day 1 I used Heap, I don't need to ask my developers to set up tracking event. Thanks to the easy-to-use interface of taging events, I'm able to do everything I need by myself such as setting events, analysing data with well structure dimension and handy interface.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not at all. I can't think of anything now.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Marketing and product optimisation purpose.
For marketing, we use it to attribute where the users coming from, and how they behave, engage with the app, and signup funnel.
For product, we use it to store user data, measure the effectiveness of features like how they influence their retention, measure active user behaviour, measure the effectiveness of product funnel, and much more.

What do you dislike about the product?
I wish the free package was a little more generous.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Who is coming to what pages on my site.

We are a new startup and Heap has provided valuable feedback for on-boarding customers

What do you like best about the product?
Heap is easy to integrate, and its very intuitive, info is much easier to understand than google analytics.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't found any issues yet, we just use a basic integration which is perfect for what we need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Heap allows us to see what new users are doing on each page and how they interact, this has helped us understand users "getting it" on their first experience of our application.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Heap is a great to tool to get information on users and their behaviour, doing a bit more integration to show user details is very effective in seeing repeat customers.
This has been very helpful for us in our early stages to understand each customer, we don't have millions of users or hits so the data for us very valuable and usable. We haven't explored higher volumes but the ability to create custom dashboard reports is good and I suspect it will work well for more traffic.

Great analytics tool for PMs

What do you like best about the product?
No coding knowledge needed, great insights, intuitive UI. The best is that you won’t need to predefined your funnels - all data is aggregated and available retroactively.
What do you dislike about the product?
Cohort analysis could be more intuitive - there are some features for Saas businesses that are missing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Product insights, monitoring business metrics like signups, upgrades, ..

Great intentions

What do you like best about the product?
The best part about heap is the idea. I tend to use the funnels and the new path options the most.
What do you dislike about the product?
The numbers cannot be trusted. The philosophy is sound but the application of the philosophy leads to me wanting more. Often the numbers are wrong. A few numbers off can be understandable but sometimes we are expecting 15 at the end of the funnel and get 70.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are trying to look at retention through the initial steps of the website.

Grow into your analytics at your own pace

What do you like best about the product?
Autotrack - allowing you not to miss data
What do you dislike about the product?
Editing reports can be a bit cumbersome
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We’ve begun by tracking our various signup flows for the different apps we support, allowing us much greater visibility into where people are dropping off, through funnels, so we can focus our efforts on those specific friction points. Being able to clearly see the impact of the changes you’re making is incredible for us.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
A great opportunity if you’re starting out in analytics as it allows you to grow into it without missing out on data. With other solutions, you must implement specific tracking events and only from then will it allow you to see the results. Heap captures all of this data from the moment you install it, so when adding tracking points in the future, you’ll have a wealth of information already so you can make decisions instantly that improve your business.

Great product

What do you like best about the product?
Heap makes it easy for our team to understand how our application is performing across every step of the funnel and every type of traffic.
What do you dislike about the product?
The charting options are a bit limited in th GUI so we end up exporting a lot of data to excel to manipulate and visualize.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We run all of our web dashboarding through Heap and use it to understand trends in our funnel. We also use it for marketing analytics and attribution.

Very useful to reproduce user behavior

  • June 27, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Heap is very easy to understand and gives me all of the insights that I need to monitor conversion rates, occurring errors or to reproduce user behavior and to improve the product based on these insights. I would totally recommend it at any time!
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I would really like to have is to be able to add tables to the dashboard as well and to have a better guideline on how to identify a CSS selector.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A lot..
- Engagement/Problems with onboarding process
- conversation rates divided by country
- occurring errors divided by browser
- sign-up vs. log-in statistics

What do you like best about the product?
analyzing funnels. paths is a great addition to that to explore and always improve the funnel configuration
What do you dislike about the product?
groupings doesnt help much , would like to set multiple funnels to see on one dashboard. (and/or operators)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
improved our on boarding, improved our UX and dropped a couple of ideas that didn't work

The best solution for Analytics

  • June 07, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Heap got great user experience. Easy to use, nice to see, intuitive concepts, along with great onboarding and support teams. Heap also has great customer success and training infrastructure. Absolutely great.
What do you dislike about the product?
A tool that is a little bit expensive, with a few integrations missing. Also, integrating with a few other tools, such as S3, turned out to be not so straightforward, but support was absolutely amazing guiding us.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are trying to correlate marketing efforts with impacts in conversion rate down the funnel. We currently have a pretty long and complex sales and would like to understand the impact of certain efforts at the top of our funnel into our global conversion rate. We also are currently building a tests pipeline, so that we can be an AB test company. We have realized that the ease of use of Heap allowed us to be faster in implementing changes and understanding results.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider using Facebook Analytics first and then migrating to Heap for cost issues. But when you switch to Heap, do it with a very important executive sponsoring you and never forget to manage the transition that is going to happen. Also, be ruthless regarding organization, as this is a must when using Heap.
