Easy Integration - Great Insights

What do you like best about the product?
Integrating heap into our applications is easy, and gives us access to insights we don't have to build ourselves. We personally only use the server side events, but it cuts down on dev time for insights we like to have.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it can be challenging to get exactly the data you want displayed, but this may be tool unfamiliarity, not a lacking of features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Heap helps us track usage easily, and display them quickly.

By sticking to server side events, it also allows us to respect our users privacy, and only report the data, and events we want.

Amazing tool - the first analytics tool to implement

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to historially look at how users are interacting with your product without having to set an event is a game-changer.
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost, pricy compared to other analytics platforms.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Analysing user flow and figuring out where they are dropping off in a funnel.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are about to launch your product, Heap should be the first analytics tool you implement.

What do you like best about the product?
Very easy to set up a couple of dashboards and tag the events you are interested to. No coding skills required.
What do you dislike about the product?
I monitor the same segments through different charts in the same dashboard, but the segment colors are not consistent across the charts...
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Heap helps us monitor the way our users use our product at a glance.

What do you like best about the product?
The biggest advantage of using Heap versus other event-based analytics services like Mixpanel is that you can define your events/pageviews retrospectively. This means that when you get moments like "I wonder how many people used feature X" but forgot to instrument it with events when shipping the feature you can add events and track all historic and feature events from that point. That is like magic.
What do you dislike about the product?
Everything is super customisable on Heap so it can be daunting setting up your reports and dashboards the first time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Tracking feature adoption
- Measuring retention
- Measuring conversion rates in various flows/funnels

What do you like best about the product?
It's very easy to use and incredibly visual. Defining and tracking events is very quick with the click visualizer
What do you dislike about the product?
Wish I could make certain queries that are currently not allowed. For example, number of users that have been verified by our application.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We track our application metrics for our consumer social app. We like to see our daily and weekly usage

Historical Events are Great

What do you like best about the product?
Being able to get history on events that weren't tagged previously is a game changer. Even exploring in the visualizer allows easy access to what parts of the page people are engaging with.
What do you dislike about the product?
The chart options aren't great and don't always follow best practices (side-eye to pie charts), more flexibility to sizing elements on dashboards would be nice.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Company hasn't implemented HeapSQL yet, looking forward to using that for more advanced process mining question. Was able to use it to quickly see which elements on a menu users were using to help inform UX decisions.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Too new a product to really get into this space.

What do you like best about the product?
The amount of detail and insight to user behavior is amazing and the CS team does an amazing job.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the word choices can be confusing, specifically around date range. There is a bit of a learning curve, but I'm not sure if that could be avoided.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've struggles for a long time to understand which features are being utilized by our users. Heap has helped tremendously with that.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Heap is an amazing tool that makes it so easy to understand what users are doing on your site.

What do you like best about the product?
I like how you can filter by user and see all the events they've completed.
What do you dislike about the product?
It isn't so easy to see where the application has come from as Heap only seems to track initial referrer rather than the channel they came through when they specifically submitted the application.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Running campaigns with partners with minimal IT work. Being able to see how customers came to us and attribute them to the right channel.
